  1. To the best of my knowledge Madame Sybelle was considered by many regular Molly players suboptimal choice for Molly looong time before Kentaurois (sorry, Greek) were even playtested. Philip and the Nanny also seem to be rather a situational pick than core element of any "classic" list. As for Kentauroi, you're certainly right, as a taxi he is much better than Sybelle ever was, being cheaper and not requiring any flips. As for Philip, replace it with whatever helps you win the game in a given scenario. Asura doesn't bring anything really valuable for Molly imho. I'm not a fan of Anna's damage track, min. 3 is good against other Ressurs (hard to wound), but her moderate and severe is unsatisfactory for 9 ss model. I use her mainly as an anti-TT anti-Pandora tech, to prevent pushes. I think you're focusing too much on creating an inflexible list (a new "classic") instead of adjusting your crew to strat and schemes. While there's nothing wrong in having a core around which you build every given list (most of my Molly lists contained both Rogue Necromancy and Dead Doxy), I think you're needlessly trying to cram situational models (Anna, Philip) in it.
  2. I think that her new upgrades may change a lot and having played few games with her I am very optimistic. Kirai is certainly a competitive choice. As for Viks, I have mixed feelings. They are great against bad and new players, but in other case it's fifty-fity: you kill them or they kill you. So why risk at all, if you can simply play more consistent masters? On the other hand, Viks would certainly benefit from the collection you already have, while playing Kirai requires A LOT of purchases. Her basic box is basically unplayable. You need something for her to summon, at least Hanged, but also Shikome and Goryo. You might want Philip and the Nanny, who is only in Molly's box. You might want to use Flesh Construct + Nurse as your summon factory. You might want to include Datsue Ba for more Seishins (three come in her box). Both Datsue Ba and Kirai are able to summon Gaki, so you might want also them, just in case... and so on.
  3. many spirits in ressers (onryo, goryo, shikome, datsue ba), taelor & strongarm (on suits), lone swordsman (on suits), joss if I am not mistaken, kang and eveyone in his aura, aionus (rarely sees play, but still a possibility), every single neverborn enforcer - just from top of my head. man, your local group must be really small.
  4. A caveat for you: Carrion Emissary also summons them.
  5. Assuming that everything you have by now is Seamus box and Killjoy I would say that Copycat Killer can be your prime bait to unbury Killjoy (if you start with him buried). Copycat's respectable damage track can pose serious threat on your opponents low df models (which are usually scary enforces). As others said, Seamus has no synergy with Killjoy and there is no reason to run them both in one crew. If you are looking for Ressurectionist masters who can make some good of his starting the game buried ability, these are Molly, Reva and Tara. But even they have much better options to run than Killjoy. If you're looking for some good models to expand your Seamus crew in particular, then I would say that Dead Doxies, Nurse, Chiaki, Yin the Penangalan and Rogue Necromancy (that last one is probably debatable, but I find it really good with Seamus new "Do you know who I am?" upgrade) are your next purchases. And don't bother with too many mercenary models. As a Ressurectionist you don't need any.
  6. No offence, but yours attitude reminds of a guy who recently started Malifaux and came to conclusion that Malifaux is shit, because his Nekima was killed in one focused red jokered attack by, what a coincidence, Seamus. We told him he should have stoned for to damage or cheat his 13 from hand to avoid the hit at all, but no - it's Seamus who is OP, and his bad decisions have nothing to do with that loss. So, next time you will face that dandy hatter I recommend killing Nurse or Chiaki before you will sink mass of your AP in Seamus, or simply ignore him.
  7. You could also mention Torakage (his Works Best Alone ability combines pretty well with Sabre, turning this neglected 6ss minion into an accurate killing machine) in Models section. I see Torakage exclusively in McCabe crews, so I think they meet the requirement of "model that stand out with McCabe specifically".
  8. on a side note, zombies don't get black blood unless they are also in Carrion's Emissary aura granted by Conflux of Horror, and Seishin are immune to auras.
  9. Similarily as with Yan Lo - I had three games with her. I really enjoyed playing her, but she seems to shine in more AP requiring scheme pools than this particular one (Show of Force is passive, Frame is passive, Hunting Party is semi-passive, you do what would you do otherwise). I will consider her, but I am afraid of two things: his Melee beaters might pummel Tara into a fine mist; second, Tara's crew apply Slow, but Nellie applies Fast, so it evens out. You're right, she seems to be correct choice in that set up. I didn't considered her initially because I used to play her a lot and recently get tired of her. Nonetheless, I will definitely consider Molly. But I'm not going to play Hayreddin with her, no way I have tried him several times with very little or no success. I don't even want to imagine how quickly will he die surrounded by several Ml 6/7 min damage 3 henchmen. Kudos for you for having balls to field him. Moreover, I don't like Anna, I use her only as a anti-TT anti-Pandora tech. But, again, that's my personal preference.
  10. It seems that TT players finally got alternative Fuhatsu they asked for
  11. Even if you're on negatives Molly can still have troubles cheating her damage if you spend a soulstone to give her to her damage flip, unless she focused and differential is six or more. Not to mention that you are no longer on negatives thanks to that. I used to play Molly quite regularily and paralyzing Master or Henchman who had a soulstone to use is something that happened to me only unintentionally, by flipping two severes on negative flip.
  12. Guys, I desperately need your help in crew composition and scheme selection. The parameters of the encounter are following: Points: 45 Deployment: Corner Deployment Strategy: Guard the Stash Schemes: Claim Jump, Frame for Murder, Accusation, Show of Force, Hunting Party. My opponent will most likely play Embedded Nellie with the mix of the following: Burt, McTavish, Taelor, Hannah, Phiona, Envy and/or others. As you can tell he will certainly play Show of Force and Hunting Party or Frame. My first idea was to pick Reva, since Decaying Aura is pretty good counter to any henchman-heavy crew, and Reva is pretty good Decaying Aura's holder. But then I realize that this way I will give him easy full points for Hunting Party (Zombies + Candles), and since I most probably won't be able to contest his Show of Force, I'm going to draw at best. So my second idea was to play Yan Lo. He can safely farm Chi on turn one. He can mess with opposing crew's positioning, possibly contesting both strategy and Show of Force. I can make opponent's Hunting Party more challenging by hiding Soul Porter in my deployment zone. Having mostly Enforcers and Henchman I could try score Show of Force too – or just bluff it (probably better idea). But I don't feel comfortable with Yan Lo, to be honest (only four games played with him). So, what would you do if you were me? Btw. other masters I have are Molly, Seamus and Tara. Thanks in advance!
  13. It gains +1 Blighted because he ended Walk action in range of the marker. It won't gain Blighted for removing the marker because marker is no longer there after the action is completed.
  14. The question is: do I want additional AP and Ca 5 on all of my actions or am I satisfied with my 3 AP and two (0)'s with Ca 8? The latter is much more appealing to me. I am perfectly fine with attaching Bone Ascendant during my activation on turn 2 or even at the start of my activation on turn 3 if I can thus maintain my Chi on reasonable level.
  15. Jack Daw and Tormented models simply need to be rewritten: Jack's old upgrades are too expensive, his new upgrades are not going to help him much, limitation on how many cursed ups you can take is simply bad idea, his survivability is close to "i'm dead before turn 3", Montresor is still not perfect (someone suggested once that Comfort in Fear should be a (0) - I like the idea, a (0) with Ca 6 and TN around 11), The Guilty are bad bad bad, Ligeia needs Accomplice or being less expensive...
  16. Just an idea for Malifaux 2.5E/3E: make Armor a non-stackable ability that reduces damage by exactly one. Probably one of the reasons of recent "cannot be reduced" spam lays in the inability of some crews to deal with Armor +2 models. Armor +2 is a monstrous AP sink for unprepared opponent.
  17. Hamelin is exactly a master you DON'T want to play according to that: ;-) If you like versality, little summoning and prefer buffing over debuffing, I would recommend Shenlong. He starts every encounter summoning a single Peasant, but that's all about it. He is an epitome of versality. He is exactly as good as a master as you are as a player, which translates into fair and rewarding game experience for both you and your opponent. He can both buff your crew and punch faces if that's necessary. The only characteristic from your list (versatility, transparence, little summoning, no shenanigan Horror, buffing > debuffing and fun) that he does not fit into is transparency - he has so many options during his activation that people who are not very familiar with him tend to forget about some of his tricks. And, btw, I hate an argument "don't choose Shenlong if you're new, Shenlong is a complex master to play" - complexity is the reason people play Malifaux over, let say, Warhammer!
  18. add Aionus to that list and you have an army of crawling scheme markers! arrrgh!
  19. I disagree on Izamu. The reason he has no (0) action is probably that he has Melee Expert. Making Reform a (0) action would be too much, it will turn him effectively into a 4 AP 10ss model. If I were asked to propose some buff for him I would give him maybe a defensive trigger on Tomes "Yojimbo's Duty" (yeah, I know he wasn't a yojimbo, but it sounds cool) that increases his Df by 2 for the duration of the duel.
  20. A general consensus is that Reva is stronger than Seamus, and Seamus is not even close to the shooting power of Perdita, especially if you are forced to choose suboptimal target (by optimal target of Seamus' flintlock I understand low df non-soulstone user not in hard cover). I would pick him over Reva only in Extraction game (his Do you know who I am? upgrade works pretty well with that strategy) or if the table has A LOT of LoS blocking terrain. Can't you just buy both? You want to use Belle with Reva, you might want to use Vincent with Seamus (Vincent can help him deal with armoured enemies) and Shieldbearers are sturdy minions that can provide Seamus with a corpse (for summoning/corpse bloat) before they actually die, so I don't think they're bad with him (albeit they have no Wp resisted attack). But yeah, Reva definitely needs Seamus' box more than he needs hers.
  21. @RustAndTheCity Your McTavish is some sort of a crazy scientist or what? Splendid work btw!
  22. no cats this time? not even close to the awsomeness of the previous alternate crew imho.
  23. In Greek nominative plural is also phalanges. You're welcome.
  24. If the only reason to play TT is Tanuki, then you should probably stick to Brewmaster. Boxes you have provide good pool of medium-sized models (Ohaguro Bettari, Izamu, Sensei Yu and Fingers) which can play different roles according to the chosen scenario (Ohaguro is a fast and tricky beater, Izamu is a tank and a beater, Sensei Yu is a supporter who can turn into a schemer after turn 1 and Fingers is an excellent schemer). I can see some potential synergy between Tanuki's Bottles aura and Sensei's Yu Mighty Gust, or between said aura and Sensei's Yu Fermented River Style. Not to mention extended Drinking Contest aura thanks to Yu's ability to copy Master's (0) actions.
