  1. Your first part is correct, if only because in this example Teddy pushes them in any direction, then he pushes into base with them. But you can not push to the side of a model if you are pushing into base contact. You must push directly towards the model, which means closest point to closest point.
  2. Pushes in relation to another model are always directly towards or away. A push in to base contact is a push in relation to another model.
  3. Them is the the model benefiting from the ability.
  4. Replace Graves with either a Beckoner or 2 depleted in a brilliance list. Also, Beckoners are more durable than you think when in close with Brilliance models, especially considering she heals when they die. Also, don't worry about getting brilliance on a model to prep for Lynch or Huggy, they can do it fine themselves and Huggy really doesn't need it, it's just a bonus. A trick with depleted is to just go ahead and shoot at them with Illuminated while engaged to set up the other Illuminated. It doesn't really matter if you kill it, because that's just brilliance and damage to everything around it, and it can get you a brilliance cloud next to some enemies.
  5. Only the first blast marker has to be touching the base of the model it originates from. Every other blast marker just needs to be touching another blast marker.(pg 50 big rule book, second paragraph.)
  6. I really don't see any link here. Just because Obey hasn't ended yet doesn't mean that Obeying a model to perform an action that then causes an attack action means the attack was due to Obey.
  7. No, HtK is not damage reduction. The only things that reduce damage explicitly say they reduce the damage.
  8. That FaQ is for a model already in base contact. The FaQ answer about luring a model off of a ledge would be more appropriate(on my phone so I can't look it up), because it states they have to take the shortest route.
  9. I'd like to know more about this 11 draw hand. Lilith with Wings of Darkness, puke worm and stoning for cards?
  10. You could also greenstuff them if you were so inclined. Another option for Twin proxy would Young Nephilim conversions.
  11. The FAQ for pushes says that the model falls immediately. Pushing isn't movement using flight. No, it says Models that fall, fall immediately. It then goes on to say that models that are pushed can't be pushed over gaps.
  12. The FaQ says models that fall, fall immediately. There's really no way around this unless we want to say that flying models don't fall.
  13. Just think I should point this out, you can only summon Teddy with the 13 and Red Joker, not just any 13. Only reason I'm bringing this up is because you said you got "a 13", which makes me think you drew any of the non- 13s, instead of the 13. As for Coppelius, he's definitely something else. Last week I had a game where he held down a table corner in Flank deployment almost singlehandedly(had help from a daydream and 1 other model that did like 4 damage total during the course of the game) against 2 Guild Hounds, a Warden and a Lawyer. after triple walking over there thanks to the Dreamer giving him fast. Game ended with him having like 4 Eyeballs, only down 2 wd and alone with the Lawyer the only enemy left alive over there. Who knew Guild Hounds had so many eyeballs for Coppelius to pluck?
  14. Nah, you can still play LCB dreamer to good effect. Just need a Teddy and some of the minions from other boxes. Namely Illuminated, Terror Tots, Silurids and Waldgeists. Also if you can, grab the starter set. All the Neverborn models in there are great.
  15. Rapid fire and triggers that have you take the attack again on the same target are different. Rapid fire doesn't care if the target is changed by anything, you still have to declare the next attack on the same original target. A trigger that has you attack the same target has to be on the model you just attacked, as that was the target of the attack.
  16. Thus, in a Peacebringer Blade attack, the effect is the damage, and the source of the effect is the model performing the action. Thus, just like damage is an effect, or giving slow is an effect, places are an effect. The effect of being placed is coming from the acting model, Lust or whoever, just like a Rotten Belle is producing a move effect when they lure, or Rasputina is producing a blast effect when she attacks. We don't say the model being damaged by Rasputina is doing damage. We don't say a model being slowed by Chiaki is creating a slow effect; Chiaki is. In no way should we be saying the model being acted on is producing the effect. If Lust or the Belle attempts to end that effect within that aura, they cannot. . "Enemy models may not end placement effects" does not reference those generated by enemy models, but those which act on enemy models. If it was talking about placement effects which are generated by enemy models then this part of the ability "unless that effect was generated by ... a model in this crew" is completely uneeded. Why say effects generated by your own models aren't affected by this ability if the ability only affected placement effects generated by enemy models? I thought the same, but there could be the situation where an enemy uses the ability on an allies card. Also, the ally could be mind controlled. So the wording isn't useless. That doesn't change anything. An enemy model copying an ability is still an enemy model generating it an a friendly model being Obeyed to perform an action is still a friendly model generating it. My point remains, if it was talking about effects generated by enemy models it would say that, instead of just enemy models and then go on to exclude effects generated by friendly models, which wouldn't need to be mentioned if the ability was only referring to effects generated by enemy models.
  17. (2) Agree. But in that case, if you weren't interested in discussion outside rules, all your post beside the faqs link was superfluous. And the faq links wasn't really needed, as I had already stated on my post on Thursday at 1:10 PM that I had understood how the rule was meant to be played. In fact, my whole question here was made because applying rule strictly RAW seemed odd. (1) I wasn't "complaining", really. I was posting my opinion here. an opinion you may not like, an opinion Justin may not like, but I believe it's a valid opinion, as much as yours. this may not be the right thread to post opinions, agree, but nonetheless you should avoid accusing me to complain just because I disagree with you. point is, I thought the rule has to be applied RAW because it was oddly written in first place. Why write "Reduce all damage this model suffers from Sh and Ml Attack Actions by half" instead of "This model suffers half damage from Sh and Ml Attack Actions"? There must be some subtle difference to consider, I thought. That's why I thought in first place I had to read the rule as written. It would also been much shorter, so the point that you have to wrestle with space on cards here doesn't apply at all. So, maybe, if you stop thinking I'm complaining for the sake of it, and try to get why I'm writing this, maybe next time we'll have a rule written in a less counter-intuitive way. You were already told why is says "reduce all damage this model suffers from Sh and Ml Attack Actions by half" instead of "This model suffers half damage from Sh and Ml Attack Actions", because there are Attack Actions which state "This damage may not be reduced", which is intended to ignore Incorporeal. If Incorporeal was worded "This model suffers half damage from Sh and Ml Attack Actions", then it would not get around Incorporeal without specifically saying it ignores Incorporeal as well. And it did sound like you were complaining that Malifaux isn't 100% Raw, even though it is and you are just misinterpreting what the RAW actually says.
  18. Page 26, big rule book, Stat Modifiers: "...For instance, a model may gain +2 to its Sh on any Attack against a target within 6". In theses cases the Sh of the model is increased accordingly, but only for the purposes of resolving the duel." I literally had that quoted already in the first post. +2 to its SH on any attack against a target within 6" is very specific when it gets that modifier. Since that example is says it only gets it during the attack it is obvious outside of attack actions it doesn't have +2 to its SH. Hoffman's ability though isn't that specific. The only difference is one is only for attack actions and the other is any actions. You're trying to make an example much more specific than it actually is. No, Hoffman's says he gets the bonus when in range of constructs, nothing to do with attacks (unless the assumption is stat modifiers only apply during duels which should break any ability that checks for stats first) Assuming its Hoffman's turn. Is he in range to get the bonus? If yes he has +2 to his stat. For the child's activation is Hoffman still in range? If yes then Hoffman has +2 to his stat. When using just like me why would it suddenly stop? The ability in the example states the modifier applies to Sh attacks. Hoffmans just gives gim a bonus to any Ca actions. That is the only difference. The ability used as a general example for stat modifiers is not going to be a specific case, and Hoffman's ability gives nothing that points to it being handled differently than any other stat modifier.

  21. Because is what the sentence "reduce all damage by half" seems to state to me, and in years of Warmachine I have grown the habit to read rules as written unless instructed otherwise And you divide the damage by 2 to reduce it by half.
  22. Yes. As long as she is within the aura when she makes a kill, she gains 1AP for every kill she makes regardless of how little AP she spends.
