  1. The liquid does look a little bit messy compared to everything else, but the glass effect definitely works.
  2. The purple transitions into the grey skin are well done.
  3. @Viruk and @Engorn it's cool to see two very different yet top notch takes on the same model. Your Grave Goos look fantastic.
  4. The sort of paint job quality that's aspirational. Fantastic stuff.
  5. And the Brutal Effigy is done, another fairly quick turnaround: [/url] Reasonably pleased with the woodgrain effect on the coffin as it's my first time trying to create that on what's basically a blank, flat surface.
  6. Really nice work. Having just wrestled with woodgrain myself, the amount of it and it's execution particularly catch the eye.
  7. While you maybe could have pushed it further, the glow effect on the lamp is clear. I like how subtly you've applied the reflective glow to the model.
  8. Really nice. Very smooth painting and a great unifying theme with the bases.
  9. Particularly like Dufresne, the gore on her apron is a real contrast to the very bright blue dress.
  10. Thank you, Regel. That's what I'm aiming for, it's a change from the high contrast edge highlighting of my space marines. In other news I've almost finished my brutal effigy:
  11. I really like what you've done with the wings.
  12. Bit too far away to see much detail on individual models, but they look good.
  13. I don't think the lighting is doing these any favours, but they still look fantastic. The detail on the first guy's shirt in particular is astonishingly fine.
  14. It's always nice to finish something off for the first time in a while. In a similar boat myself. That's a really nice blue on Tengu and I like how you marked him up to look like a real parrot.
  15. Just wow. The skin is so smooth yet rich and the freehand is so fine.
  16. Looks amazing so far, the pig skin tones really are impressive.
  17. That's outstanding work on the base, it really augments the model.
  18. That's a lot of models in a year, good quality work too. Your style lends itself to the feel of the Malifaux minis.
  19. A very promising start with some lovely vibrant colours.
  20. *Blows dust off thread* Been a while huh? I haven't finished anything in a while and lost my mojo for a bit, but for something totally different to do I decided to make a start on the Purifying Flamer from Torch and the Blade and pick up a model I just liked: the Brutal Effigy whose face I've done. Cheers guys, I do want smooth transitions, but you're absolutely right that I need more contrast in there too. I think the Austringer's coat, satchel and falcon are about right; the handler's glove and boots are about 80% there while the jeans, skin and shirt are just barely above basecoat. You're right, though, Butch, time to draw a line under that one and move on. Am I striking the right balance with the flames?
  21. Really cool idea very well executed.
