  1. Welcome, everyone! I got back into the a hobby about 3 years ago (after having played Warhammer for a few years in my teens). I just loved the aesthetics and lore of Malifaux and after a nudge by my friend and a playmate to start, i soon had my first few Crews. I fell back in love with miniature painting. So i thought i'd start a little thread to showcase my STUFF 😜 Have fun...
  2. Hi there! I hope it's ok, to post questions related to the hobby, even if they are non wyrd, sorry in advance if it's not 🙏 I recently got in my hands a bunch of 2nd hand minis, and I’ve been trying to identify them. I’ve managed quite well except for those 3 (The one on the top is missing what i guess is a blade?) If it helps, in the same lot there were some early-mid 90s vampire counts, some Mithril LoTR, and some grenadier minis that i managed to identify (mithril and grenadier had references on the base, citadel ones i went through a bunch of old catalogs on the stuff of legends…). Judging by the release dates of the other minis, those might be late 80s early 90s, but I’m not 100% sure. But I've been searching for days, and spent hours in tSoL and miniatures workshop i still have no clue about those 3 guys Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!!!
  3. Hey there! I'm Demi, relatively new to this hobby which was introduced to me by my partner. He's into the wargaming part of Malifaux, I happily overtook the painting part from him. I am greatly inspired by EonsofBattle and Squidmar Miniatures on how to become better at this new hobby. I'm using Vallejo Game Air paints (without airbrush), Italiery 5/0 and 10/0 brushes and a Mucoplant bottle as painting stand. Bases are made of trash and Fimo Air light clay. Seamus was my first crew ever painted (miniature-wise, although I have been painting as a hobby for a couple years now) and I feel like I have already came a long way since this crew, thanks to almost daily practice which I greatly enjoy. I'll upload the rest of the rest of the minis later separately. Now, the Seamus crew, asked to revamp them as... Well, vampires. In coloration, at least. Specifically asked to use this dead red and light blue in the crew as a theme. Seamus, the very first: Copycat Killer, conveniently stabbed in someone's back: Rotten Belle Nr. 1, "Susan": Rotten Belle Nr.2 (this I am particularly not proud of, the wash overspilled...): Rotten Belle Nr. 3, lamp post made of a lollipop stick and clay: Madame Sybelle: Let me know what you think!
  4. Here’s the second crew I completed, and the one that made me fall in love with Malifaux in the first place. Though if I’m honest it’s not my favourite crew to play, it’ll always have a special place in my heart as they’re just so dang cool. That or The Dreamer has some sort of hold over me... I took the idea that he’s some sort of corporeal being as the inspiration, and instead of painting him in Caucasian flesh tones opted for more of a blue-grey colour scheme, using the other creatures to bring vibrant colour back to the crew.
  5. I'm having troubles figuring out how to base 2 particular minis from the Witches and Woes set. Both are Sorrows, one is the scarecrow with the scythe, kind of floating off to a side; their little tendrils simply aren't enough to support them. The other is the hooded scarecrow with it's arms spread wide, sickles in each hand; their base is HUGE and has roots flowing over it's seemingly meager 30mm base, and the roots themselves don't seem to touch anywhere but the raised edge of the bases provided. Help please!
  6. Good afternoon everybody...hope all is well. I have listed more Ebay Auction(s) and have more to come in the next days. 7. So I have a concern to voice. And it may be an unpopular opinion so I am prepared for a bit of push back and I very much so accept and respect that. I dont like the visual direction the models for Malifaux are taking. When I got into the game (very much so for the rules, background, and location at first) I noticed right off a stark and amazing difference between the Wyrd models and the systems I had been playing (primarily Warmachine and Warhammer). The difference was level of detail, not abundance of detail. I mean that guns seemed to scale, pistols looked like the size of pistols, buckles and belts were small, but sized reasonably on the models, things of this nature. However, there was not a focus on an excessive amount of just, stuff. For this review, I will use Hans as an example. Rifle over shoulder (made unique by fine detailing in the sights, barrel, and stock), long coat over most of the miniature, a few other helpful small details like his goggles and his left hand artfully fiddling with a single bullet. I. Love. This. Mini. But after a while I saw the style shift. I noticed it most around Broken Promises. Models began to scale up slightly (not a bad thing on its face). But along with this something else occurred. Models began to accumulate more, well, stuff. Compare the Monster Hunters of the Guild with the rest of the Latigo Posse. They just have a bunch going on. To me, an excessive amount. Which then brings me to M3E. So far, I am absolutely loving the rules, changes, rebalancing of Malifux the rules. However I am growing concerned about the miniatures. Which crystalized the most seeing the new design for Hans. Hoooooo boy... Starting off, the rifle now seems to be the size of a light artillery piece. With all the stereotypically steampunk bells and whistles. And then... there is the pauldron or pauldrons. This is a prime example of an unnecessary detail. It adds nothing to the idea of a consummate early 20th century sniper. But seems to be there because, 'pauldrons are cool man.' I guess my concern is this. I dont want to see Malifaux sacrifice its unique story, setting, and feel, on the alter of fitting in with its competitors. Already this if far longer than I wanted it to be. And again, I very much so understand many others may not agree with me. I just felt I had to give my input on this game that is very dear to me and my friends. Thank you.
  8. Hi guys, I'm looking for someone who has a spare barbaros model to sell. If anyone has the limited edition I'd be happy to swap it with nightmare Whiskey golem
  9. WHO ARE THE TEN THUNDERS? Last week I injured my hand, rendering me unable to paint for some time. I've been itching to do some hobby stuff and now I have an idea for what: This thread will be a showcase of my painted TT models (photographed badly) coupled with a bits of fluff writing. The world of Malifaux is so rich in details and flavour, and I've often found myself imagining a place for the models I paint in it. The named characters are, of course, well established, as is the general relationships between the models in a faction, but the actual organizations, people and places are left just vague enough that we as players have to fill it in ourselves. I enjoy that immensely. The first entry will be my Ten Thunders Brothers. I uploaded this to facebook two weeks ago, and the positive response (as well as the hand thing) spurred me on to start this project. THE RED DEMONS "The Red Demons run the dockside markets of the Little Kingdom. Now, we all know crops just don't grow right this side of the Breach. If it isn't the taste, then it's the texture, or the tiny, singing mouths only visible in moonlight. But these guys? They've got peaches that taste like your childhood summers – you name it two days in advance, and they'll bring you any amount of fresh fruit or vegetables, hell, they can even get you flowers! Who can afford to pay the Guild cargo rates to bring in flowers? And how do they keep them from growing those tiny lidless eyes? Oh, and I guess I should mention the crates and crates of illegal weapons. I'm sure they'll have what you need. Couple of rules, of course: Payment in soulstones, immediately. And don't mention the masks. If they start talking about you meeting their little brother, or if they mention the name Ototo, just give them what you have and back away slowly. But if they mention The Lady, you run."

  21. Hiya I'm new to Malifaux, and I have a question which I have been unable to find an answer to online. I want to convert up my Malifaux miniatures to give my Crew a theme but im planning to get stuck in to the UK Tournament scene next year. My Question is in regards to converting my >WYRD MALIFAUX MINIATURES< and keeping them playable and legal! How far can I take my conversion/customization to theme my crew and still keep my miniatures LEGAL to play with at the Larger Official UK Tournaments/Events???? As I have some Warhammer Fanatasy Experience I will use this as a reference. In the competitive scene GW tend to have a criteria to adhere to when converting up a proxy model/models for your army and using them at there events, which tends to consists something along the lines of 60% GW parts and a clear representation of the model it is intended to PROXY ie same size/equipment/base. Im planning to field a Netherborn Crew The Dreamer "hide and seek" and Teddy and customizing a lot of the Wyrd Miniatures with sculpting putty to resemble toys/teddys but using the wyrd miniatures as a base to sculpt over (possessed evil toy theme) stitching and patchwork skin etc... is it possible to sculpt a Big Teddy over a Proxy from WYRD Miniature and Name plate the BASE saying Lord CHOMPY bits or would it be beter to sculpt fur and patches over the pre existing LORD CHOMPY BITS model for example ie 60/80% fur and stiching patchwork coverage from sculpting done to a very very high standard.... Would this be LEGAL and a clear enough representation of the miniature to be playable in Tournaments Thanks for any response/info people who may be kind enough to offer or for those of you who are just taking the time to read though my post!
  22. Does anyone have a pdf of mindless zombies stat card front/back please post a link to it i seem not too be able to find one.
  23. Decided to post my painted models in a thread. Maybe I can speed up painting for it! Ashes & Dust Death Marshall Sebastian Sorrow Poltergeist Critique is welcome
  24. I have just started getting into learning Color Theory and how it applies to painting Miniatures. During my research, I have stumbled across some great tools for picking your colors. Colorcombos.com https://kuler.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/ I especially like the colorcombos.com site. Pick a color and it will give you a wide variety of pre-selected schemes.
  25. I wouldn't normally plug a kickstarter, but, well, this one has already reached its funding goal, and I figure the folks around here would appreciate the product being offered. It's a stamp for molding your own basing terrain. They are a bit on the pricy side to back (particularly since this is based in the UK) but a very cool concept! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2023606288/bake-your-own-basius-base-pads-for-wargames-and-mi?ref=live
