Phinn
I am working on my Stitched Together, but unfortunately I kind of already know that I will not be able to finish it in time and will have to use my first mulligan. I am currently working on my thesis and have a lot of school related stuff as such. I probably could finish it in time, but... I am doing some freehand on the model and have few more ideas Monthly Painting Challenge works as intended though I am painting almost everyday and, which is the most important, feel motivated to paint and try new things
Popular Post misterfinn
@Franchute I'm alive! Had an unexpectedly large dose of Real Life interfering with my hobby time this month. Disappointed that I haven't been able to participate in discussion but skimming through this thread I see some great work! I did manage to get the last bit of my Nothing Beast finished and smooth out some (but not all) of the blends I wasn't happy with. I will join others in the "finishing up club" and claim him for 10SS. Miss Terious will have to wait for March.
Scatterbrain
@Franchute McMourning arrived in the post so I opted to start him rather than a second Union Miner. Basecoats are on, needs some tidying up and extra detail to meet or exceed my standard of "tabletop quality."

Viruk
@RustAndTheCity - NMM on this fragile sculpt is an endeavor in itself, and you're doing an amazing job there @Piccio - love the different shades you've used, they really do bring them to life @Joachim - great dirty look on them, also the basing makes them look even more dynamic @Franchute - superb nmm on the blade, really impressive stuff Here's Anna for 9 extra ss, bringing me to a total of 34 soulstones for February. I probably won't paint anything more this month but I may start assembling minis for March As always, more pics on my blog: http://www.whatthefaux.net/2018/02/anna-lovelace.html
Popular Post Kogan Style
So my painting motivation jumped up as the month went on and I could see the progress you were all making. @Franchute that sword is outstanding! I like the way the light reflection on the sword matches the gun, keeping the light source consistent between the two objects. Bravo sir! @Joachim The Gaki and Ikiryo are great, thanks for the Oxide tip, I'll be using that for sure! @mrcoblin the skin tones are lovely, and go well with the purple. I'm very interested to see what you do with the bases. @Piccio Those warriors put my own tabletop versions to shame - great work and you really bring the models to life! @Viruk That Yellow on Hannah! Ive picked up a standard Hannah to build for the Hamelin crew as your's inspired me so much @Amdor Your High River Monk really catches my eye everytime I scroll through this thread - love it! @wobbly_goggy & @Strangely Brown my regular opponents and painting inspirations/bullies that make me do better, nice to see you guys on here and producing great work! Here is my lot for Feb, Rat Queen Rat King And a group shot showing everyone I've painted this year with the help of this thread (includes newly painted Hamelin and Baby Kade) That brings me to 37ss for the month (Hamelin 15, Rat Kings x 2 16, Kade 6) I'm going to have to do the rats at some point aren't I?
Popular Post Burnin' Coal
@Kogan Style mentioned the inspiration drawn from the great entries this month...me too...haven't had time to comment on them all yet but "Wow !" ...and that in turn spurred me on so here is my mid month WIP...that I shot just now....loads of work to do yet but I think I should just get them finished by the end of the month....so here they are so far : Mr Graves and Patti Ramone
Franchute
@Burnin' Coal this Mr Graves is turning amazing! The contrast resembles a bit the one you used for the stitched together. I love it! The trouser details are well executed too. Incredible job!
Burnin' Coal
@Franchute Thankyou...yes I am trying to use the same tones on Mr Graves as the Stitched Togethers so that when I eventually get a full Neverborn crew painted up there should be an overall similar feel to them without the bases having to match up ..that's the plan at least...I would have said the trousers required a patience almost beyond my capacity...but then I saw the amazing NMM that @RustAndTheCity produced for his Iron Skeeter and realised I had better just get painting😉
Purple Mist
Here are models I painted for this month: Lilith (15ss), 3 Terror Tots (4ss x 3), Cherub (3ss). Overall painted models value: 30ss. Although I was able to complete the Cherub this crew is till quite weak. I'll see to add more characters next month.

The skeeter itself is finally done and I actually enjoyed it a lot. @Burnin' CoalI really like Mr Graves. Tartan like that can be quite tough. Yours looks very nice and uniform. I especially like the purple tone to his skin and the soft highlighting on his shirt. @Purple Mist I like lillith's scibor base :-). @Kogan Style they look great. I've played against the midnight stalker a few times. He's a real pain. @misterfinn very smooth highlights on the nothing beast. 1

My models are often overworked in the effort to correct mistakes. Base painting is more direct and more clean. Malifaux models have lots of details while bases are more flat and more easy to paint.
