  1. Many & many thanks. It's not a GW paint. I airbrushed some thin layers of Vallejo Air paints from the military modellism range, mixing colours, too. Basically, you should try Nile Green paint + any blue paint + Dirty white or icovy paint, mixing them into the airblusher and proceeding on by a thin airbrush layering or glazing. Then, I used a lot of diluite washes from GSW and some dry brushing with white ivory paint.
  2. I like a lot your crew. Beautiful models, great detailed and the gold yellow bases are very original. Bravo!
  3. @Caedrus, may you gently confirm my point 3 is respectful of challenge rules?
  4. My 2021 New Year's Painting Resolutions 1. To paint a couple of brand new crews for my collection; 2. To allign my old M2E crews to new M3E rules; 3. To add in my crews some non Wyrd minis that I bought looking to Malifaux world. 4. To complete Honeypot and Pandora crews I has going after in last part months. 5. My highst ambition and hope: to end 2021 dressing my mask only when airbrushing minis...... A thing I wish to all of you. For January 2021 I'll pledge Iggy (6ss) and Teddy (10ss) for 16ss. Keep youself safe and painting minis. Wishing you all a great 2021.
  5. I modestly think buying minis is a basic instinct. I have more than a doubt about your chances to suceed as regard your point 1. As for me I pass on it.
  6. Sorry @Caedrus, I missed your call for declaring pledge level....... I'll try Henchman level for 2021.
  7. 3 Sorrows and the Poltergeist, for 19ss to complete my December Pledge: @Caedrus, adding Lazarus (9ss) and the Fountain scenic (5ss) the overal value pledged should be 33ss
  8. Amazing paint job @Diddick. I like a lot the burning spots. The model is impressive..... and great artwork with photos.
  9. I have done with the fountain: As regard water: I used, for the first time, AK Still Water. I got the feeling it's thicker than Vallejo one. That created some troubles with air bubbles. I fixed it adding some drops of GSW acrylic thinner for airbrush so to get a more fluid stuff when layering. To make moving water, and waves I used two combined techniques. 1. I took some cotton swabs and dry removed the cotton fibers, then I soaked them with Still Water. I gave them the shape I desired and let all dry on baker paper. The resulting stuff can be refined with a cutter and scissors, then put in place on the fountain model and glued with still water. 2. I used GSW Transparent Gel to finish the splashes and create some waves. As a last step I spotted the water parts with a very thin mixture of acrylic thinner + still water + blue-green wash. For more see at the link: @Caedrus, I thank you again for support offered in this project...... BTW, I have no idea of the ss value of the fountain model. P.S.: taking photos I used the best lighting conditions to evidence the "water games". As a result the solid (marble like painted) components look very flat in the pics.
  10. @Caedrus, you are mastering MNM technique! Then, the use of purple spots on the base adds a lot to the models. Great effect on the little stones that looks (may be are?) transparent.
  11. AFAIK, looking to past years, I'd say yes. Models are computed inside the month they are finished, base included.
  12. @Viruk, Great painting job and superb choice of bases. I'm not sure but I suppose they are ME1 minis..... that to say metal ones, that I consider a nightmare to paint because of paint pealing off. One more reason to admire your achivements! Bravo!
  13. Hi there, I'm from Italy. I'll be pleased to take part to the challenge next year, too. I play and collect boardgames, card games and miniature games since sooo looong time, and..... sometime....... I paint minis and scenics, too! But do not expect I'm a very talented painter. I'm sure I'm better as a player and even better as a collector! I did not focused my painting ambitions and targets for 2021, yet. As I did during past years, I'll divide my efforts on many, different fronts so expect from me scenics as minis.
  14. Thank you for great words of apreciation for my last minis. As regard your NMM models, looking them finished I cannot say they were metal or NMM. My attention was captured by work in progress and model pretaration pics that feed the suspect it was not a simple and direct painting technique with metal colour.
  15. I know probably this is not the proper site page for this question........ Do you know if there's a complete list of Malifaux miniatures enlisted by publication date and some App allowing to inventory Malifaux minis? I'm trying to put some order in my boxes of shame but going mad with that!
  16. To make things interesting I used GSW Color Shift Paints mixed with other metallic paints so to get a more soft shifting. Then the minis was my first testbed for GSW Liquid Pigments. The tubes are in red, non rigid, transparent plastic. It was a nightmare to clean the fusion lines from the tubes leaving their surface smooth. I washed the tubes with a red and a violet GSW washes to give the idea of something flowing inside....... but in the pics the most evident effect was produced by photobox lighting.
  17. Bad picture of my WIP Ghosts from Pandora Box M2E
  18. Lazarus is completed...... and the base too....... @Caedrus, if I'm not wrong it's worth 9ss.
  19. I own the set with the 3 wells. If I'm not wrong I pledged them here past year. Because of their size you can also use the wells as 50mm bases for minis.
  20. @Caedrus congrats for the beutiful models you painted. From the pics I cannot say you are using or not a metal-non-metal technique: I'll be gratefull for some words as regard. Impressive painting job anyway. @bedjy I like a lot your Kitty. Gost like painting very effective. Bravo! @Boomstick A true feast of colours with your Pandora Witches and Woes. Like those minis and the replative pics a lot. @Viruk Great painting job as usual..... A question as regard the second pic: is that model a Bandersmnatch? May I ask you why you did not used GSW Spider Serum this time? @Nikodemus I'm impressed by your pistolero: that's so realistic! Great palette!
  21. Here is a WIP pic of the City Fountain, SOV range by TTCombat
  22. My December Pledge will include: Lazarus - Amost done. I have just to complete the still water layering on the swamp base. Pandora's Crew - Hoping to get a lucly start with airbrushing the models I could complete the 3 Sorrows and the Poltergeist. City Fountain - I got AK Still Water and GSW Modellable Gel, so I should be able to complete this scenic. My only doubt is about the real, water like transparency of GSW Gel that I till need to test. Enforcing my Honey Pot Crew is in my ambitions but I fear that will not be matter for December; I prefer to go after Drop Fleet Commander heavy units.
  23. Hi @Caedrus I have a last time doubt about the rules you illustrated fot next year. Supposing a pledger would like to go after and pledge a very huge and complex project, think of it as a castle, a fortified citadel, anyway something very huge and complex. At the same time because of the nature of the target she/he will not get able to post it as single components but must present only the finished stuff. On th other way the pledger could have to go after that single project for many months. How to manage that pledge? P.S.: you have my vote and my congrats for winning the Montly Competition Pledge leadership for the next 5 years. I own 5 Castle Craft kit boxes and my idea is to use the components to get a single huge castle.
  24. Hello @Caedrus, hello everybody, first of all I must congrat with you all for the great figures I could admire this month, too. For me it was a long month of hard work, made even harder by this second Covid Wave. Well, it was, but all, a good month for painting. Although I missed some of the targets I planned (I was unable to complete Lazarus and the big fountain because of "still water stuff" shortage), I had goot times assembling some heavy cruisers and battleships for my Drop Fleet Commander force. I also assembled and primed more Malifaux figures for the months to come, then and most important, I successed putting pigments on plastic to complete 4 Malifaux models: Kitty Dumont (9ss), Pandora (15ss), Candy (8ss), Baby Kade (7ss) for overall 39ss. Wishing you all an happy weekend and a successful conclusion of your monthly pledge.
  25. @astapable great job with the last two minis. As regard pics, my suggestion is to employ filtered light. Using a home made photobox is common choice. About best size of the photobox and the color of the surfaces I have till doubts...... Guess you have to size it considering that most of time you'll take shoots of one single miniature. Then, for the color of photobox surfaces, black was the most common choice and most of times it gives best results. On the other way you can try using light filters: baker paper is cheap and seems to work very well. Cold bulblamps can be enveloped with baker paper to filter direct light to take shoots without photobox.
