  1. Love that blaze added to Shenlong's mini and McTavish (shall I say Makutavishu?) conversion! Unfortunately, I lost any interest in the report seeing it's GG17 😉
  2. I have played against such a crew shortly after Wave 5 upgrades have been released and people were trying new stuff. My opponent had something like three or four Corrupted Hounds to place markers on turn one, and then he removed them to push Titania several inches (not sure what was that, I'm not familiar with her) and charge me on turn one. It turned out to be pretty brutal, as I was playing Yan Lo then and I couldn't stone for Tome trigger on Fortify the Spirit. Not sure how successful my opponent was with that build in overall tho.
  3. Guild masters are all straightforward, no need for any tactics 😉
  4. Maybe initially they wanted it to be one per box and they have already printed boxes with one of them displayed, but in the meanwhile they have changed their mind. That's what happened with Kentauroi: I have a box with two on the picture, but the box contained three of them, whereas currently there's a new box with all three of them in the front picture.
  5. Fun fact: American team actually played Collodi into Reva in their game against Krakowball at ITC and it was 10:2 for Reva. I don't say it's autoloss, but if you can avoid bad matchup, do it.
  6. From what I have seen playing against Asami, beside Yasunori and Low River Monk people bring Shadow Emissary with her and Terracotta Warrior.
  7. I would like to point out another thing: if you are both playing the same schemes because you're both learning, please make sure that they don't favor one crew as much as they did in that game. Quick Murder and Eliminate the Leadership is the combination clearly tailored for Misaki, whereas Tara player would have an edge in interact-heavy scheme pools which will let him to capitalize on his ability to multiply his own AP/minimize opposing AP.
  8. No, I don't think so. It's too time consuming I'm afraid.
  9. I haven't seen anything beside generic conflux on Carrion Emissary tbh.
  10. Are you going to buy something else before getting painted what you already have? Because you're lacking two important additions to every Ressurectionists collection: Mindless Zombies (indispensable I dare say) and Asura Rotten (you want her for your Seamus, Nicodem and Kirai crew, unless you go Flesh Construct route). From what you have it is probably best to start with Seamus following Catbats tips. As for Nicodem and Kirai, I feel that you lack too many models to play them effectively. Once you get Asura and Zombies you can try Nico with what you have (Belle, Punk Zombies, Dead Rider, Shikome, Morti, Vulture, Seba). But even then for Kirai you need some more purchases I think.
  11. None, but he gain an Action: Obey. Hopefully with a built-in mask!
  12. The former is true (maybe with the exception of Yan Lo), but the latter is something which has more to do with your attitude and game habits than with Hayreddin himself. Ask yourself: do I have to play the same support pieces every game? I know it's hard to leave that Doxy/Belle/Nurse/Chiaki/whatever you think of on the shelf, but sometimes what you at first consider a suboptimal list turns out to be less (or not at all) suboptimal once you get used to it. I can't help but think about a friend of mine from Krakowball team who forgot to take his Carrion Emissary with him and played without it at ITC this year, yet he won every or almost every game, despite that for Reva, a master he played, Emissary is considered by many (if not all) to be indispensable.
  13. The consensus in my playgroup is that Yan Lo is better in Ressurectionists than in Ten Thunders. In Thunders you lack synergies and you can't built reliable and reasonable chi farm. In Ressurectionists you get Asura and Spirit Beacon for farming chi and activation control and more spirits for Spirit Ascendant synergy. Are you aware of Wave 5 master-specific upgrades? Playing Yan Lo without them doesn't make much sense, he was one of the worst masters in the game back then. Wave 5 brought him new Ascendant upgrade which grants him Casting Expert and great Ca attack which targets Wp (Lilith's weak point) and two regular upgrades, one of which lets him use two (0) and take Lightning Dance as a (0).
  14. If you want to do that reliably, you probably have to use Hans with Scout the Field. Otherwise competent Hamelin player will simply hide Obedient Wretch behind a wall/building. At ITC it indeed happened that someone exposed his Obedient Wretch and lost her on turn one, but I doubt he will ever make that mistake again.
  15. You borrow dices from your friends who are still playing other systems, that's what you do.
  16. The Forgotten Marshal: I have tried him several times in GG17. He's not terrible, but not impressive either. I have no opinion on him to be honest. Should play him more. Hayreddin: for 6ss he's pretty good and I use him more often than previously (but not very often). Mainly with Yan Lo (for free Vitality on turn one) and Reva (I like to pair him with Bete Noir to make her average damage spread better). Jaakuna Ubume: has potential, but she's too weak for current standards. Needs a buff. Sloth seems too expensive for what he does. I have the model, but never actually hired him. Draugr are simply meh. I have no opinion on Gravedigger, except that their sculpts are amazing.
  17. Toni Ironsides. BUT, once again, there is a rule: at least her quotation has to come from an Oi! song. There are plenty references to working class in them, so you will hopefully find something fitting Oi oi oi!
  18. You should definitely consider Shadow Emissary, Terracotta Warrior and maybe Super Weasel (a.k.a. Kamaitachi). Not sure if it's better than Amanjaku, but I have seen people using it paired with Terracotta.
  19. The thing is that you don't hire Masters. Or to put it differently: Masters are not subjects to being hired.
  20. three Arcanists in top 4... Out of sheer curiosity: what master(s) did they play?
  21. I feel that Ligeia suffers from Nurse syndrom - she's a mix of average or below average stats and extremely powerful ability, which makes her really difficult to price adequately. I haven't even glued mine - so overpriced and fragile she seemed to me initially - until someone has actually used her against me. I had no non- Ca attack in my crew and getting rid of her suddenly became a huge problem. After that I have changed my mind about her. I would say that she's ok, but you shouldn't take her if there's not enough terrain to hide her or if you anticipate easy counters (like Carrion or Shadow Emissary).
  22. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any doubts about the rules and particular mechanics. Folks here will gladly answer all your questions! In case you don't know, there's official FAQ: https://www.wyrd-games.net/malifaux-faq-errata/.
  23. Boxed set is a necessary first purchase, since Masters are not sold separately. Important thing to notice (which you probably already know): total Soulstone value of the models is different in each box. Playing with your friend make sure that both of you have crews of equal Soulstone value. Did someone already introduced you into the game or it will be your first experience of Malifaux?
  24. From what I have heard yesterday Trikk played against "Ulix crew lead by Som'er" during the first round (vs. someone from Abnormalifaux) and he lost. I know no details about the list, but it sounds like it was THAT list. Maybe you can tell something from photos posted on facebook by David Brown (in the foreground):
