  1. I feel like Wedge negates some of the Viks or Zipp's speed advantage. Levi should be super strong into this pool.
  2. I believe all previous models are usable, although some have changed in unexpected ways. If you go on wargamevault you can even get cards with art for the previous versions.
  3. Jedza also has Plenty of Wares which can heal any of your models. Lamplighters can heal your models, and the effigy/emissary have the aura that can heal your models. I'm not sure what you mean by heals count before their activation. The Chronicles don't rely on activation and note that it's *other* models.
  4. I think you could take one out with your young lacroix and get the other one with Francois turn 1. That's a lot of AP just removing them and means putting upgrades on the Youngs rather than Ophelia turn 1.
  5. Oh yeah Freikorps seems good here. Hannah and Arik to plug up the crossings, lots of guns and healing.
  6. I agree with Daw as a great choice. I could also see Levi and set up a gunline to make crossing the river super painful for your opponent.
  7. I've done the scenario 0 to mini corrupted leylines to henchman hardcore a few times. It seems to work quite well. Jumping from HH to full 50 stone games has been intimidating so I have a couple friends who come over and just play HH.
  8. I always think of it like this. You ignore the models for moving, but you don't ignore them for declaring actions. So you still can't declare a charge, and if you declare a walk you are still subject to the restrictions of walking while engaged.
  9. I love what you did with Hannah's model. And the flannel pattern on the Emissary looks amazing.
  10. Drop 2 upgrades and bring the effigy. You can obey the raider to interact out of activation (or have the 4ss model interact) to keep your Raider fast. Also, save those high Tomes.
  11. This is a tough one, in a shockwave attack the defending player chooses the order. I can certainly see an argument for Yas moves all friendly models in the order the Yas player chooses then moves all enemy models in the order the opposing player chooses.
  12. There's also the Easter Viks, so not *all* of them
  13. Similar to ambush, took me a while to realize the marker removal on appraise is a cost so it happens regardless of the flip. So Prospectors can always remove a marker.
  14. If you can slow and/or stun First Mate, that is a good consolation prize to killing him. Otherwise play the Viks and Dragon's Bite him to death
  15. The Bayou starter box has a swampfiend model in it, so I don't think they're shying away from "complex" crews for the boxes. Also maybe evidence they're favoring dual faction keywords if you're looking for that. In neverborn (and removing swampfiend since it's in the bayou box) that could mean Elite/Mimic, Chimera, Nephilim and Qi and Gong? The last option would be funny. And we know the Outcast box is all Syndicate so even another option is a hench that doesn't have any current Neverborn keywords.
  16. I don't think the population density assumptions are correct. London was the center of the most industrialized and technologically advanced empire in the world circa 1900. Malifaux is a colony outpost. I think something like Denver, the key stop on the way to the previous gold and silver rushes would be much more comparable. Denver had ~200k people in 1910 over about 150 sq miles.
  17. Purely theoryfaux as I haven't used the model. It looks like she's a good backline defender. First turn, ideally you make a scrap and get a ss. Then she hangs back and disrupts the opponent getting Leylines, Symbols, Breakthrough, Sabotage, etc. If the opponent doesn't get back there fast, she generates resources. Unfortunately, she doesn't look like as good at this as a prospector or ss miner, which cost 1 fewer.
  18. You could also bluff, put 2 markers down in a way that it could score 2 different schemes and your opponent won't know which is the important one until the end of the turn. I've never actually accomplished this but it's theoretically a possibility.
  19. You could have strategy tokens that you can only place on minions and then they have to interact with a more expensive enemy model to score the VP. You'd always have the enemy master as an option, but there would be some incentive to take cheaper minions.
  20. I hope the rifemen can hand out stunned. I also hope the brawler is a tarpit rather than a beater. Excited to see what we get
  21. Just to be clear, I don't think it's a competitive move, but I think it could be a fun one
  22. If he deploys dreamer within 6" of his deployment zone edge you can put 6 shots into him with those models. Not going to be able to discard the entire hand. With Flank deployment, Misaki should be able to counter attack anything that comes in, maybe even get there first and stop charges. But yeah, it relies on the dreamer player not seeing the obvious danger. Although since you don't have to decide where those models deploy until you see everything else, you could react and be further back and play a normal game. If you're losing a lot, sometimes it's worth just shaking things up, have some fun with it.
  23. I didn't say 25% of the time, I said 25% of pools/matchups. Seamus isn't competitive in 100% of pools/matchups, so Seamus + Emissary is fine. If a master needs a specific model to function, that's fine as long as that combination falls into the parameters of at least sometimes but not always the right choice.
  24. a big take by surprise list would be 2 snipers and 2 samurai with trained ninja, and go all in on killing Dreamer round 1. It probably won't work if he's expecting it but if you've been losing a lot might make for a fun shakeup.
