  1. Laugh Off, Planted Roots, and Staggered are all effects coming from the Model being unburied. I think Gravity well coming from another model overrules those - Although i don't have a rules quote as to why I think that! @Adran Is the inclusion of Laugh Off in the errata to give enemies the abiity to overrule the model's controler's ability to stop unburying?
  2. Everything said above, but do note if you like the game, you will almost certainly be buying more masters soon and staying in faction gives you more versatility. Dreamer/Nightmare is very good and also has a fair amount of cross over with Pandora/Woe - Carver/Teddy/Serena/versatiles.
  3. Hi Solkan, The pre-release surveyor card is in the public domain, the developers released that information for a reason, perhaps part of that reason to gain public feedback about it 🤷‍♂️. TBH understanding misery is a bigger focus for me but it has the same characteristic's I'm interested in. I don't know all their intentions in releasing it or for the rules I've raised and I WOULD LOVE TO, maybe the developers might read these posts and might decide to clarify the rules which I find difficult to determine the RAI or RAW for? "This or That" is about stopping you making choices where you would ignore the consequence. It's not a general rule saying effects that don't produce a consequence are considered to have not happened. Thanks for trying to clarify my question.
  4. Hi Rufess, The rules clearly define suffers (note present tense) damage effects (typically most attacks have this effect) and suffered (note past tense) damage and effects that are dependant upon one of these are usually very clear (and nice in my opinion ) Have you got an example of after damaged? (I think these are almost always suffered damage, past tense indicating it was actually the result and not the effect happening)
  5. Hi Adran, Thanks for your answer. I can fully understand your logic but I still find it unclear if that is the intended interpretation. With respect to 2/3 I believe there are effects which say Heal 1, or Heals X. Due to the mix of terminolgy used, even in the text you quoted, someone could argue that Heal 1 isn't a Heals effect (I appreciate this very pedantic differentiation, and almost certainly not the intended interpretation) I think you can read that healing quote with a different interpretation. "an amount" technically includes 0. "As though it didn't occur" is targetted at the excess healing amount and doesn't explicitly call out cancelling the fact that the Heals effect overall happens (although I appreciate that could easily be the intended behaviour).
  6. With the new surveyor (https://www.wyrd-games.net/news/2020/5/20/waldos-weekly-like-a-rolling-stone) ability Chronicle (Geomancy) - After a model with 4 Heals .... Does this mean 1) it is targeted with a Heals effect (even if it had full health) 2) that it actually regains 1 or more health it had previously lost regardless of terminology used? 3) that it is targetted with an effect that actually says Heals and actually heals 1 or more health? If you compare it to effects that use suffers damage and suffered damage those effects are very clear if they require the triggering effect or the outcome effect to happen. This effect and Misery of both equally vague to me and make quite a massive difference in play. EG If you can proc Chronicle by applying healing to model that doesnt need to lost health it is massively more applicable than having to lost health to start with. With Misery if you can trigger the Gains effect for applying stunned to an already stunned model (even though it wouldn't change anything) it makes it a lot easier to use.
  7. Finger on the trigger - lets you take a action against someone who charges Can perdita use custom peacekeeper action against someone who charges into her gunfighter 1 engagement range? (Also I noticed its nice that gunfighter lets perdita remove scheme markers at short range whilst engaged)
  8. Ignoring any rules it's fairly illogical to think that an object that is thrown with such force that it's landing creates enough force to hurt nearby creatures wouldn't itself take harm.
  9. Do you mean corrupted ley lines? If you are talking about cheap scheme runners it seems odd you haven't given you opinion on Wicked Dolls and Corrupted hounds given they are literally the cheapest models in the faction. (Note I had been thinking Corrupted hounds were versatile, probably getting confused from when I only had Marcus, and apparantly they are not)
  10. I assume real life surgeons hit arteries by mistake sometimes! But even so the game isn't a real life simulator, you could choose to apply you own house rules to try to make this more realistic, but then are you going to apply that to every situation? My personal take is it's probably more enjoyable to just roll with it. Should one of the planets most intelligent people (say stat 4 or 5) be worse at something than an generally low intellect (0 or lower int) person with lots of training (rank4/5)?
  11. Molly is just horrible for anyone with onslaught/flurry as a key feature of their crew. You have to try to find a way to block sight or only choose that crew on dense boards!
  12. I think you would still flip as those abilities don't ignore the effect they reduce it's effectiveness (to the same outcome, but 🤷‍♂️ ) I think Ignore is different to reducing to 0 and other game effects may happen as a consequence of flipping etc (at the very least card cycling).
  13. Some considerations: What models can you easily access? (maybe less of an issue if you are in the states) I would check your local game stores. If you are trying to save money but still have some options - I would look at the versatile models in the factions you are interested in. If you find a faction with lots of versatile models you want you can buy the core boxes for a few masters and those versatiles to probably be able to make a playable list more cheaply than if each master requiers you to buy a large amount of their keyword. Neverborn is cool (and what I currently play) - but I think they are generally considered a very killy faction. You win this game by scoring points, this often requires you to drop markers which Neverborn doesn't excell at. That said the strategies and schemes just changed so 🤷‍♂️ I played Wong when I first starting playing - it gave me a slightly unbalanced view of how easy it is to use triggers as most of his models can add suits of their choice with their special glowy tokens. On the one hand its a nice mechanic but it requires a slightly unusual playstyle that might not set you up well for other crews. They are very schemey though.
  14. I think public enemies is going to be a lot about hunting your opponents models who have already collected bounty tokens, if you can do that it doesnt matter too much about losing models.
  15. From a conceptual/logical/fluff point of view I think its very sad how restrictive flight is!
  16. I think this would count as any on going effect that targeted the replaced model carries over to the new model (see PG32 replace step 4). In the multiple models to one model it's a bit unclear if that would only apply to the model that specifically triggered the replace. But I think to handle cases like vendetta, it would have to bring over all applicable effects from all models involved? 🤷‍♂️
  17. From nightmares: unburying models happens after resolving an attack. So won't help till the next time you use unhinge. Stitched are amazing, in my mind Tactical action: Gamble your life is their best feature - as it gets around a lot of tech (a lot of defense tech only protects against Attack actions). But they also help if you are forced to discard a high card with lucid dreaming. I personally like bringing Vasilisa and wicked dolls (for their scrap to summon stitched and cheap scheme potential) But I think generally you want to use your generated AP advantge for scheming as neccisary. One marker dropping option is Insideous madness - keep them buried for 1 turn (so they can interact after un burying) then unbury them next to an oponent where you need a marker, use scatter to push them away and then drop the marker.
  18. (Just a data point, not that I agree with it) UK Nationals 2019 TO ruled that melee action from generated charge can't declare triggers.
  19. What would allow an action generated from an effect to not be considered an extension of that effect?
  20. 3 models each with missery and a total of 6 models (activations) on the table, theoretically would mean you could apply it 18 times, but that would require the oponent to be aplying the correct conditions to themselves on their turn! This is more vaguely viable with Pandora(any codition), Carver(focus) and Candy(fast) - due to them applying to positive conditions but it's highly unlikley unless your oponent has some crazy reason with something to gain from helping you. I think Pandora, Candy, Carver, and Iggy can theoretically cause 3 or more miserys on their own activation.
  21. It does stop you burning all 15 fate tokens turn 5 to create a nearly 30" chain across the table turn five. Which is a bit of a tragedy thinking about 😄
  22. It doesn't say ignoring the normal rules or anything to suggest you can ignore them.
  23. @Kimberly I'm confused why you quoted @Raines228 and then didn't address their request in anyway?
