  2. I am really curious. Is december acolytes really pulling that much weight in everyone's crews? I think they are a really neat offensive model, but they die so easy. They are also a gamble, they are strongest when they get to deploy second, where they can react to the opponent. But going first, they often most be placed quite conservativley due to their squishiness. On top of everything, 7 is quite a steep price nowadays. At least I have a really hard time fitting them into my crews.
  3. To me, summoning rasputina doesn't sound interesting at all. Why spend her ap on summoning when you have such a great attacks, and tactical actions. I will keep on rocking Cold Nights, Armor of December, and one of Imbued Energies, seize the day, arcane reservoir, or Child of December most of the time.
  4. If your friend is starting out with Malifaux, I would recommend: Shadow Emissary. Samurais (several may not be the greatest investment, but they are neat and allround. Can deal damage in several ways). Low River Monks. Ten Thunder Brothers (Charm Warders and TCW are better and more niche, but starting out you cant go wrong with them).
  5. Archers. Just a bad model. Lowering their cost and make their DF 6 might make them useful. If nothing should be done about their DF, just throw Leap Aside away. Right now that trigger just adds insult to injury. They are too nice of sculpts to be treated like this. Fuhatsu. Just get rid of Braced. Ototo. Give him Ml expert, while getting rid of Flurry. Raise the WP to 5 at least. Make his triggers a bit more inspiring. Beckoners. Keep them as they are, but lower their cost to 6. Terracotta Warrior. Up Ancient Treasures TN to 14. Misaki. Bisento should really be min 3. Yasunori. Lower its charge to 8".
  6. Too early to tell for me. Need to tinker around between standard cache and about 5ss.
  7. All things equal, I will favour The Rising Sun every time. Aggressive Huggy is just the way to go. On the other hand, with Terracotta Warriors around Cheating Bastard can be pretty neat to Switch into in a number of scenarios. For instance, when you do not think you will get Huggy back or to start with Cheating Bastard and switch to The Rising Sun when things start to heat up for Huggy.
  8. Lazarus... On a serious note, librarian would be cool!
  9. I like useful vermin, but I think there are better upgrades since Hamelin often has no perticular problems of getting markers down. In terms of opportunity cost there is more to gain from other upgrades. Speaking of opportunity cost, the plague pits makes the emissary's usp quite meager. As you can dish out blight from distance far more efficent with the plague pits. Its a great upgrade, and its biggest benefit is that it makes an in theme blight build very potent. Benny is legit. There is so many good actions and abilities on his card. Pretty much an auto-take.
  10. Stalking Bisento, Scout, Oath Keeper. All out offense. Disguised, survivalist, Scout. Disrupter. Scramble, Scout, oath keeper. Speed demon, best schemer build.
  11. I used to play that way earlier. To great effect at times. But I think its about wheter you want to build the crew around Misaki, who may get killed as early as turn 2, and a model which is basically a 11ss upgrade to her. There are plenty of things now which can limit Misaki's effectivness and thus limiting the whole crew a lot. The way I see it is that the emissary can do similar things to yu, and has a greater offensive output. The emissary's attack can hurt a lot, and its a ca which is nice against certain crews. Its Misaki-aura is huge and can at times generate more attacks, making it some what overlapping to yu, but generally on later turns instead of earlier. Its 0 with Misaki is a pseudo-nimble. And instead of making Misaki fast, it makes a secondary beater fast. Making the attack a bit more balanced.
  12. Great episode! Really interesting that the crews is made up by book one and two models. I am quite amazed it took this long for someone to find a way to abuse fresh meat.

Very good point. Makes their value skewed.

What is everyones thoughts on the acolytes? I think they are great, but they are very pool and board dependent for me. From the shadows is great in squatters or stake a claim, and they are a nice pick up in headhunter. If I think there will be snipers on the other side, or the board will slow my crew down, they can be a good option to have further in the board from the get go. On the other hand, usually I dont take them. Their cost often doesnt fit with the rest I want in the crew, and I often find that the Silent Ones does more for the crew with their healing and threat range. So, why am I stupid for not rating them higher?
  16. Myranda and the cerberus. They are both great. Good to have some beaters together with the frozen heart models' shooting. Myranda turning into cojo is a good mix up too, which may deny some points now and then.
  17. What I think you should get Snow Storm Claw and fang Mech rider Blessed of December Ice Dancers

Myranda is really good with her. Gives a handful of cards with Imbued on turn 1 or 2, a strong mix up game, speed, an extra activation the turn she summons, and possibly a ton of offense if she turns into a cerberus. With skinwalker and a raptor she can also alpha strike or land killjoy anywhere by turn two.
  19. Tier 1 Collodi Dreamer Tier 2 Lilith Pandora Tier 3 Zoraida Lynch Lucius Tier 4 Titania
  20. One thing I would love. Misaki being able to summon Torakage on flanks... Fluffy to let the ninjas sneak in later in battle.
  21. Lynch or asami is my options. Asami has some summoning, but the sunmons flicker makes them better engaging and denying rather than just holding a quarter. Lynch, his crew kills things dead and Huggy is kind of summon. Other crews should give big jake a look. I have used him a lot with Misaki in TT. Very much worth 6ss.
  22. Torakage is fine if you have a limited collection, but as others have said before there are superior choices.
