  1. Youtube lets you watch videos at a faster or slower rate than normal if you click at bottom right icons. Mind you I've only used it to watch some videos sped up a bit at 1,25. No idea if 0,75 or slower setting would be pleasantly watchable or not.
  2. He's a merc so you can Pay Better him.
  3. Why would it negate disengaging strikes? Darzee's Chaunt says: Relevant to disengaging strikes what you did was gave the Vik a + to attack flips, ie it's disengaging strike. Going by the rules you actually made disengaging harder for yourself, unless you were fishing for her black joker. ___ What you could've done was use The Law of Meat instead since that would've disallowed the Vik from taking attack actions (ie. disengaging strikes) while engaged. Ca7 same as Darzee's but requires a mask.
  4. I expect to see some hilariously spammy wild firing on positives after Tara does her 'deal 1 wound + fast' on desperados. If it were me I'd try to squeeze in a Killjoy on the assumption that those mercs will die. Too bad our only Tara player quit the game. Would love to see some approximation of this list in action.
  5. They are and they aren't. Ca8 is great. Not having a required suit built-in isn't. If you just want a lure there are more reliable models.
  6. What is Marcus' counter-pick to Quick Murder? What are your most hard to kill expensive models? With and without the beast keyword? Just looking at the cards I'm leaning towards Blessed of December and Dawn Serpent, depending on rest of my crew and scheme pool. Serpent seems genuinely tanky to an extent while being quick and Blessed should have the mobility to flee like a frightened child from any big threats.
  7. There's a strategies & schemes deck available for purchase: https://giveusyourmoneypleasethankyou-wyrd.com/collections/m2e-books-accessories/products/schemes-and-strategies-deck I'd be cautious about diving into that though. It obviously varies group to group, but my group for example mainly plays with Gaining Grounds 2017 schemes (ie. "Tournament" schemes, found under Organized Play Formats: https://www.wyrd-games.net/resources). If I had bought the book s&s deck I'd be out 15$ for no good reason. I'm pretty sure you can find some free print versions of GG2017 scheme cards, but they're also commercially available from Wargame Vault: http://www.wargamevault.com/product/201615/Gaining-Grounds-2017-Strategy-and-Scheme-Deck There's also an app called "CrewFaux" for both Android and iOS. Possibly for other operating systems as well. It includes all schemes for both core rulebook and GG.
  8. They don't add conditions. What makes you think they do? Their main attack removes conditions.
  9. Gremlins... Mancha Roja, Swinecursed (can't remember their height, at least they're big for Gremlins), Lenny. Maybe something else. They certainly have some individual models that I think fit. Nephilim crew with an appropriate colour scheme?
  10. Shadow Effigy maybe? I don't play Hardcore, not really my thing. But he'd be a direct replacement far as SS go. I don't have the card in hand but I'm guessing his (0) buff works on Leaders rather than Masters specifically. Would give different kind of survivability to your crew, potentially harder to take out than the monk and has at least some form of dealing damage. Just spitballing here.
  11. Trying to avoid all those gotchas is one of my main goals when playing with newbies. "This guy messes with this particular scheme in this particular way" - "This beater has *extends ruler* this much threat range" etc.. I never avoid them all, too many details in a typical game, but it seems to result in better games when people are roughly aware of what all my things can do and deny.
  12. @jerhien Is that just errata speaking or did you always value Lucius so highly? If you don't mind expanding, why do you rate Ronin so highly in Ten Thunders specifically? They're Outcast mercenaries after all.
  13. I too have noticed more close, lower scoring games. Then again maybe I'm just a bit better player than I was last year? Can't say. Overall I prefer GG2017 over 2016. I wasn't a fan of Hunting Party being on suits and that alone counts for a lot. At least for me it warped crew building too much in ways I didn't care for. For doubles, I miss Take Prisoner (aka. second best scheme ever) but enjoy Eliminate the Leadership being more common than if it were numbered. I've had decent success taking Dig Their Graves. I only ever take it for Guard the Stash and Extraction since it's easier to predict where I need my markers. I've been playing close combat masters most of 2017 and haven't given full 3VP for FFM, not yet at least. Not sure how I feel about it being on suits, but I do like that it's more common than numbered ones. Whereas Hunting Party heavily influence my crew build, FFM lightly influences my crew build and heavily influences how my crew plays on the table, and that's something I can appreciate. In the same vein I haven't had trouble with Tail'Em either. Not too many games with it but so far doesn't seem broken or bad. There's a few schemes I'm not sold on yet, Hidden Trap and Last Stand in particular. I don't see myself being comfortable ever picking them. But I do think past version of Hidden Trap (Plant Explosives?) was perhaps a bit too easy. Not enough plays with Claim Jump to comment on it. It certainly seems easy with a long centre line. Also I gotta say Recover Evidence is the best scheme ever. Really fun. I've been lucky enough to get it in a few tournaments and in some casual games. Scored 3VP from it most times too without it feeling too easy.
  14. Same as usual, nothing to be worried about. They're pretty slow to update it every month.
  15. As a closet Gremlin with a thing for Whiskey Golem I wholeheartedly approve of this thread.
  16. As said Guardian had its SS cost reduced. Montresor and Nothing Beast, while not minions, have fix upgrades associated with them. This tells me Wyrd is willing to change a model's SS cost and is willing to buff a model whether or not it has an existing fix upgrade.
  17. Of the 8 models that got a straight up buffed in January 2017 errata, 2, or 25%, were minions. I don't think their station will have any effect on whether or not they'll be errata'd in the future.
  18. The Lone Swordsman can reactivate himself by discarding two cards. Usually that's 1/3 of your control hand. With Lynch that's just two aces that you get to pick up as soon as you discard them. In addition he has many good triggers, but being an enforcer he can't spend soulstones to get them and is thus reliant on flipping the right cards or getting them from your control hand. Lynch is one of the best masters in the game in terms of building up and maintaining an awesome control hand.
  19. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Samurai with Misaki. They're supposed to be good with Lynch for reasons stated above. I mostly use one, but there are times I field two. If you can get one for cheap from Gazdooks or somewhere, feel free. Granted in a small collection you might not want to splurge on both Samurai and Snipers, as both give you a shooter model. Very different shooter models, but 'pew pew' is what both of them do.
  20. Graves fits thematically with Lynch (and who doesn't like a utility beater?) and is good at extending Misaki's threat range (who happens to like a utility beater). And unlike Sensei Yu you don't need a third crew box.
  21. Emberling is Mei Feng's totem. I assume it's just a typo and you meant Shang or Kamaitachi?
  22. Looking forward to more. I like to think of myself as a picture junkie but this was very easy to follow.
  23. There's been some mixed buzz about Sun Quiang. 8ss support/scheme enforcer with a lot of shenanigans. There's been a few threads about him if you search around.
  24. I've never taken this scheme, just can't ever figure out how to score my other 7 points while Last Standing. That aside: Earth Samurai is pretty sturdy for 8ss. Alternatively look at Hard to Kill models. Lots of heals to go around in Shenlong+Yu crew. Big Jake is 6ss and scheme gold. Very fragile, but good as your 4th/5th just to secure scoring. Peasants in Shenlong crew help you get a few more activations while working with an elite crew. Depends on strat & schemes yadda ya.. Big Jake, Yu w/upgrade, Samurai, Shenlong w/upgrade and Peasant puts you at effective six activations and three eligible Last Standers with 21ss to spare. Add in expensive tanky henchforcer w/upgrade for durability and we've got 10ss to spend on models/cache. I think there's core of a functional crew there. Can't say I'd take Last Stand, but if I did I'd look at something along those lines. Yan Lo sounds good too.
  25. I always thought Nurses were one of the more nasty 6ss models in the game. Then I actually read their card and nearly fell off my feet.
