  1. Played Viks into Mei on the weekend. It was symbols of authority I took sabotage and hidden martyrs. I won 6-1. My list was the Viks with servant , Vanessa with soldier for hire, big jake, student, two ronin and a prospector. looking back I think it’s probably worth dropping the upgrade off Vanessa , the student and probably the prospector. Then bring in Bishop or Taelor. Prospector is too slow and ends up being a ss generator when I could have just added his 6 to the pool from the start. The student is handy for fast but it only really happens in the first turn I find. Viks are so mobile and the crew can turn on a dime. The 4 point heal for killing is so good. Vanessa healing from that too is great. Really enjoying the Viks, they take some practice to use well, I think I’m getting there.
  2. : cackles as he glues his Hamelin crew together:
  3. I was just discussing this with a mate. I’m hoping to pick up Lord Cooper and any of his keyword, I assume he will be available in the sale.
  4. You mean Johan for condition removal? Hans is the sniper
  5. Good one mate. Great to read others perspectives on crews I love to play. All this is drawing me back to my first love the ressers.
  6. I like the list but how is it doing schemes?
  7. Manos is nuts, take one damage to add the required suit, then given the healing available that 1 damage isnt too bad.
  8. Mine dies too quick as well. I have started using it as a flanker to scheme and then fly into the middle of the scrum to use his abilities. Ultimately its a totem and if you get a vp out of it then its worth it!
  9. Agree with @theamazingmrg i find the Guardian not too bad to get moving with help. I played a game vs McCabe into Leylines the other day and lost 8-6. Mainly because i didnt get 2 of the start points. Looking back I think I should have taken the mechanical rider. I think she offers a lot on Hoffman. She can go and get vps while the rest of his crew can focus on interdicting and stomping
  10. That sucks man. I hope you recover mate
  11. A fun matchup is Nekima into Misaki! Loads of bloodshed!
  12. I'd say he could still be passed along but as for scoring the strat no as the carrier is now insignificant.
  13. I've always played it does work on placement. Reading the rules I may be wrong. Definitely needs a FAQ.
  14. I too had the same thought but then I tried various minions with upgrades and the value is exponential because of the minion only abilities. My only caveat is that the minion needs to be one with some defensive tech already or the regen will never get used!
  15. I prefer Gst on a minion as well but I will take it on a henchman now and again and sometimes even a master. The terrifying boost is just so good. Necropunks, Dead Doxies, Shieldbearers, Draugr, Hanged and Rabble risers can do great things with gst.
  16. I have seen the Reva, Asura and Anna crew with all the exploding zombies, looks fun
  17. It's A shame because he is such A boss model. Thunder's have so many good models it doesn't matter, just sad to shelve the model for now
  18. She is better in a Reva crew where zombies are very handy. Reva, asura and bête are a great team and synergise well together.
  19. Since the nerf I have heard little to nothing bout Yas. Did the nerf kill him off? Looking at him the cost is just too much. Rounding down means he pretty much will never get more than one mask and mostly none. 11 stones is better spent elsewhere. The emissary is a cheaper and more reliable beater with some tricks. What are your thoughts?
  20. Agreed. The lampad just costs too much. 6 ss I’d take on all the time
  21. When discussing the tier level of masters there are many things to take into consideration. Let’s put aside meta, pools and opposition for the moment. The first thing I think makes a master top or not is there playability. What I mean here is, if there style of play is straightforward enough that a person who is inexperienced can pick the crew up and start winning almost immediately. The crew has to be robust with a real focused idea of want needs to be done. The harder crews that need a lot of setup can be too finnicky to be truly top tier. For example Schtook is a crew with power and their play style is quite straight forward. They are focussed on supporting each other and bashing face while it’s schemers scheme. Similarly Molly is, really all about the scheming. Sure you can beat face but her crew and abilities love a scheme heavy pool and again a player picking her up for the first time who sticks to that style of play will succeed sooner rather than later. Reva cops criticism because honestly the crew seems to be unfocused and my best games with Reva have been where I focus on an area of the board and go to town. Robustness also means can they be easily countered? Schtook and Molly I would argue are the harder crews to truly counter comprehensively. Daw is great but get some ruthless and shock waves in there and he is having a harder time. Kira too with some ruthless and ways to counter her summons has a hard time. Yan Lo suffers from having a very elite crew I think. McMourning has a very sad time against crews with loads of condition removal. Seamus is like Reva, just what is he supposed to be doing? just my two cents worth
  22. I think that Seamus is still very strong and his keyword isn’t as bad as people say. The belles are still good models because a lure is always great. The doxies are great especially with gst. Carrion emissary is great as a setup for Seamus cause for celebration but I think by taking him with Seamus you are telegraphing this tactic. I am trying to develop the slasher style Seamus which exploits his “Why hello love” ability. Using lures and pushes if you can get an enemy into his range you can get multiple attacks with loads of bonuses. Kind of push and pull them into him. I’m getting a little bit sick of the whole competitive/ non-competitive things and think I’m just going to play crews I enjoy. As long as they have a 50% chance of a win, I’m happy. Nothing wrong with the competitive angle but in all honesty if I want to be just winning games 95% of the time I’ll play the same lists over and over and it will get boring. Malifaux gets stale for me if it’s just a min max , what’s the killer combo type thing. I’ll devote tome to being as competitive as I can and then to refresh I take on a new crew or “underpowered” crew and have a crack. If you run a master believed to be underpowered it’s win win isn’t it? You lose, it’s expected but if you win then you get to crow about it. 😁
  23. Sounds fair. Local player has jumped onto the resser train and he has started playing Schtook. As the resident resser I want to teach him the meaning of dead
  24. So now how do we counter him if playing against him? I’m thinking pick off the chaff try to get Vale into something tempting and then counter punch her. What are some matchups that The Professor doesn’t like?
