  1. aeslin really isnt that bad, but of course there are better things at that stone range. she can be handy if your dealing with CA masters or movement shenanigans targeting your stuff ive used her to some success against ressers. granted my opponent usually likes things like belles. it was about a year ago during a league, my opponent was playing molly and had 2 belles and anna lovelace to protect the belles. after using the bound and rooted action he shrugged it off but the next turn i used bound and rooted again and he started getting steamed. so he ended up commiting the belles to scheme run. and on turn 4 i managed to kill lovelace with 3 wicked silence attacks and scored "line in the sand" to finish the game.
  2. thats what i thought. thanks for the quick reply
  3. when the mysterious emissary takes the primeval conflux it gains the following ability: unwholesome fruit: while this model is within 3" of a hungry land marker, it may add one suit of its choice to its final duel totals. (exact wording) so my question is this...am i able to choose a different suit for each action or is it like the depression upgrade where you choose once and it applies to each duel?
  4. it feels like your focusing on the wrong type of summoning. a turn 2 teddy is very much possible with collodi but doing so turns him into a summon only master. which is fine if your planning on cranking out teddies but expect collodi to only move using pushes and burn through cards like no ones business.
  5. just got back from a game using collodi. half way through the game i realized that collodi has a - for his cg stat, which threw me off completely (due to not knowing what currency "attention" takes so couldn't pay him). anyway, am i dreaming in that this could be a good upgrade or is it a fool's errand. i understand that it takes positioning to a different level if one wishes to utilize this upgrade. to me the upgrade is nice and a different change of pace for collodi but i find that i still use pull the strings more than squeeze. your thoughts?
  6. i could see them releasing individual masters like they did for the vintage models. maybe in an upcoming guilder store update.
  7. thanks for clearing that up, and thats what i thought. though previous posts make it sound like its all in a single turn.
  8. excuse my ignorance on this subject, but i was under the impression that if a model already activated in a turn then becomes buried and unburied that it could not activate again. if thats the case then how are you getting 4 activations between LCB and dreamer?
  9. an alt Vasilisa would be nice. just so i wouldn't feel so bad when i actually toss her in a list.
  10. i believe the appeal of a 3rd edition comes from the fact that alot of game companies usually put out a new edition every 4-5 years either as a complete overhaul or to fix a few things here and there. because there is "new-hotness" every few years, it helps prevent the "ADHD" in some gamers from going full tilt and relieves some of the staleness from the game. but with the GG system updated every year i feel it removes some of the staleness from the game.
  11. so collodi's new upgrades have been released/spoiled. what would be the best combinations of upgrades that incorporate the new upgrades.
  12. when it comes to traveling with your miniatures on bike and dont have access to a hard case like the gw crusade case, your probably going to have to pay quite a bit to figure it out. but the best thing in can think of is either of these.. http://us.battlefoam.com/privateer-press-backpack/ http://us.battlefoam.com/categories/Battle-Foam-P.A.C.K.-System-Bags/P.A.C.K.-Go/ or get some type of hard case to bungie to a rear bike rack.
  13. will the upgrade cards also be available for purchase at gencon?
  14. actually there is a sort of codex for models, although its not faction specific. with as much as people pay for faction specific books in other games, your just better off buying each book for malifaux in the current edition. mainly because thats where you find all the info your looking for as it pertains to model stats. im sure there are places you can buy a pdf/ebook of the current 2nd ed malifaux books. wargame vault comes to mind.
  15. nice use of the krosmaster boards. has this system been released or is it just a personal system? I know you said that you were using the malifaux stuff as a personal project but i am interested in the general rule system.
  16. i use a tray for my models during tournaments and dont have a problem with it. the way the tray is made to work though makes a difference. for example, my tray is a wooden base with 30/40/50 mm holes cut into it and placed inside a box. its a snug fit so the base doesn't slide around, also the base is thick enough that the models themselves don't really move much. however if its kicked, thats a different story. also ive seen people use a metal base inside a box and had the models magnetized.
  17. after playing warhammer 40k for years, ive noticed that my memory has gotten better. after all, trying to remember what unit has what buff/debuff/etc. does force you to pick up tricks for memory. so when it comes to a skirmish based game like malifaux i find it easier to remember stuff. also, i have great difficulty playing miniature games sitting down due to the amount of moving around from playing 40k, so looking across the table is just as easy for me as it is moving a model. so all in all, keeping track of an opponents system for activations/conditions is a system in itself and one that can be learned. but i do understand previous points made. yes it can be a hassle to look across the table and be confused with your opponents systems of doing things just as much as it confusing to see a bunch of activation/condition tokens on the table. even more so if your looking through models/terrain.
  18. i find that for conditions and activations, if you look at your opponents cards and the systems they use to track stuff, its just as simple as looking across the table. most peeps i know will mark everything on the card for conditions/wounds. also most will have a system to know what has activated, such as turning the card 90 degrees or flipping it face down. i have noticed though that most malifaux players prefer to sit during a game, this is fine but can become a hassle to look across the table at your opponents cards if your the one sitting.
  19. my go to pool usually consists of the brutal/arcane/carrion/mysterious effigy with some bunraku/coryphee tossed in. for some reason i never really liked the stitched but some peeps swear by them. also widow weaver and doppelganger are pretty good as is iggy. toss in a sorrow with them and you have a decent second "ball o' death"
  20. id have to go with lelu for this list. he has better survivability with lilitu out on the board and is easier to move around. now if you had a teddy id say go with kade simply because of the 15" jump, but without that getting him to where he needs to be takes too long for my taste. plus trying to maximize his dmg output on his attack is difficult with alot of squishy models. also lelu does synergize decently with lilitu as you had already pointed out.
  21. have you tried the crewfaux app? it does pretty much the same thing as AB.
  22. there are other topics covering this, but off hand id pick up a primodial magick, some wisps, madness's, and emissary
  23. also curious, why would you want to use army builder for a malifaux crew builder? wouldn't it be just as easy to write your crew(s) down in a small note pad if you like to stick to particular lists? aside from all that, updates for army builder are up to the community not the company.
  24. have you tried not to go "full tilt" with summoning. usually only summon 2 nightmares first turn, then zero action to lower your waking, and summon a daydream if you burned one to summoning. this way when your summons activate they heal more than if you summoned all you could right off the bat. plus what you summon can make a difference. summoning the twins can pretty much heal them to full if done right. also summoning stitched can be fun if summoned near a group of enemy models.
  25. titania's box really isnt that bad once you realize that your going to have to rely on scheme markers to get the most out of it. titania and aeslin really need alot of scheme markers to shine. aeslin herself is nice for her anti-push aura and needing a scheme marker to avoid randomizing isnt that bad and having casting expert is a nice bonus. titania and aeslin can both heal off scheme markers, however aeslin does need the malifaux provides upgrade. also despite titania looking like a close combat master, she is unable to do stuff alone without getting a focused beatdown. the knights overall are pretty good, cant say much for claw though. as for the gorar, its really just there for getting back tooth/thorn/rougarou if your doing the pounce stuff, otherwise i go with the puke worm now when i had first played this crew i went with the entire box plus 2-3 gupp swarms, and the dmg output from titania and aeslin was pretty good due to the gupps cranking out schemes which allowed me to take different triggers on the knights. however i did notice that i had a tendency to get bogged down in midfield. because of this i had to make sure i picked schemes that were either killy or took advantage of the midfield. then once i got familiar with the crew i branched out to take advantage of the pounce tactics with the twins and had quite a bit of fun with that.
