  1. Totally agree! Viscera is my fav to be honest; that 50mm base can do wonders when summoned in or slithering into place to block line of sight for things such as Aura's, summons and the like. All in all the box is a great addition and their great models for roleplay games and other things too.
  2. I hope they make a resculpt of lazarus; its just a duff model. I totally understand why he has the 'hate the maker' rule now anyways.. If i couldn't lower my arms below rib height i'd be pissed too...
  3. Mentioning the single faction buy-in.. if your choosing Lynch you will almost definitely feel the craving to start exploring his ten thunders options... its a slippery slope when you venture to dual faction masters... a sublime alternative factiony slippery slope...
  4. I too have yet to move to the airbrush scene - I know what you mean about re-painting stuff however. must have redone mcmourning 3 times now; although de-greasing spray strips the paint off really easily without damaging the models.

  7. Hey all, Was gifted the Malifaux Starter Set at Xmas and while the models are all pretty cool; the actual minions caught my eye the most; Blood Wretches in particular... They seem to have a lot of potential with their passive flips to charge attacks as well as the 1AP tactical action that gives them +1 dmg to attacks... My thought is this: How have people been using them (if at all) and further does anyone see them as valid choices in their lists. Some masters obviously come to mind such as Zoraida, Lucius, Collodi and The Dreamer who can force the wretches to take the tactical damage buff outside of their activation. I was even thinking of mercing them for Colette too when i play Arcanists and maybe using a dove to give them dmg flips - 3 min damage is nothing to turn ones nose up at i'm sure... Anyways: Blood Wretches, Discuss. (30 Marks)
  8. absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see them painted. I understand how fragile and finicky the m2e casts are for converting so have insane respect for your work!!!

Yeah Leper is right; Colette can accommodate a vast amount of play styles and crew builds; but i think right out of the box her crew is a bit pants and extremely fragile and thus a huge learning curve for a new malifaux player (or experienced i suppose). One of my friends had her from first edition and was spitting venom when trying to use her in M2E - He refuses to move out of the showgirl theme and recruit other Arcanist models which i think is partly his problem as Colette takes things like December acolytes/Joss/Envy and just exploits the hell out of them to her advantage. If you are worried about theme however I always think of it as a massive Las Vegas show with exhibitions of the weird and wonderful; "Introducing the giant vipers of the wilds!" for things like razorspine rattlers and so forth.
  11. The Df trigger however is worded as reducing damage.. Levi's attacks will cut through such reduction meaning he'll have an easier time taking down any horseman.
  12. Maybe throw in the Beast/Construct type on a few models just to give marcus something to be brought into the arcanist fold a bit more.

I've had a lot of experience being blasted by Rasputina and my regular opponent who i suppose you could say is a raspy specialist always takes Mirrors and Pillars; the fact the Wendigo can throw down a second lot of them really helps to lock down some crews and being able to double cast due to triggers while arcing is brutal. I'd honestly say the more intellectual side of Rasputina is her pillar use; therein lies her depth rather than the straight out nuking of crews. I agree with Fox however that both upgrades are great and it will come down to what you feel most comfortable with.
  15. I reckon i'd like to see a viktoria'esk master but the difference being they are a 3 part master; maybe Neverborn/Arcanist. It could be the 3 'wyrd' sisters from Macbeth or the 3 sisters of fate. I like the idea of them passing around a buff (such as the singular eye they were said to share) or setting up a triangle zone that would be measured between them - you can give anything within this zone fate modifiers of either or . Maybe each one exhibits a different paradigm as well ie. Tank, Scheme Runner, Glass Cannon. I reckon they could do 2/3 completely different builds upon the choice of a limited upgrade specific to each of the three. Then to fit with master specific schemes you would declare the master dependant on the upgrade as it will give the named type as part of the upgrade wording. Further all three could then be henchmen maybe with the restriction similar to vik of blood. But yeah thats my idea...maybe i should be writing up a TTB campaign with this idea actually.. would make a great villain or npc group...

  17. despite hoffman being the head of the amalgamation department you don't see that many knocking around so would love to see a master whom exploits such an area (other than leveticus of course) - good idea on the above Mechromancer!!
  18. Tara brings an amazing concept to the table; its a shame she's just underwhelming - I enjoy using her but i very much see her as a casual master. I never seem to mind the Nothing Beast - he's always performed well in games; we usually use a lot of terrain so his incorporeal really shines and theres less chance of him getting shot down early game. I would only really expect him to attack once per turn as that 7 max damage is just too good to not focus up for and i may go defensive with the last AP if i didn't kill the target; to tie it up and dump a card for +1 df.
