  1. Congrats on the placing, and thanks for the reports ...
  2. Congrats on being best Arcanist ... And thanks for the write-up.
  3. Yin destroys your Wp. Reva can choose to attack Wp.
  4. Normally, I'd agree about killing the chaff, but Revas candles & zombies are slightly different, because they are basically walking corpse markers. If you kill them, you can then hoover them up with the carrion effigy, which you wouldn't be able to do if they were still walking. But since some people think the Ml version of Revy is stronger anyway, ymmv on that strategy ...
  5. For playing against one of the local top dogs who plays a crew that many claim to be borderline OP, I think that score isn't bad. Especially seen as it was his first game against her. It's not unusual to lose games against a master you have never played against, never mind the the really strong ones.
  6. Yeah, been using the one from godswearhats, but the one from Brassfist had description of the schemes, too, which was really neat when fiddling around with S&S and crews and stuff ...
  7. Oh, another thing I meant to add - the games I played with Ya Lo were all with the Terracotta Warrior - that guy and Chiaki and the Emissary is a whole bunch of goodness. Having Yan Lo with Ancient Protection, Fast and Recalled Training basically EVERY round is just nuts!
  8. I've had a look at your blog before, but didn't have the time to read the BR then. Did that now, read all of them. At first, I didn't really like the move-by-move format, but got used to it quickly and the advantage is that nothing is missing. So I really enjoyed the reports, thanks for taking the time to write them down and keep up the good work! Found them especially interesting because I recently finished up my Yan Lo crew and ran him in a tournament for the first time, so it's nice to be reading about the old geezer in other player's hands.
  9. I used this site a lot, and now it's down. Makes me very sad. Anybody have any good alternatives (for browser, on mobile I use CrewFaux)?
  10. I thought Pack Leader belonged to the Blessed of December ...
  11. This. It really is a testament to the patience of this board that people still try to answer the OP after what, 5 pages? I gave up on the first ... Kudos to anybody who's still trying to help.
  12. My ... Mei Feng really likes her Emissary und her Porkchop, Lynch loves his Emissary, McCabe loves his Emissary and his Terracotta Warrior (and recently I haven't really seen him without his trusted Yasunori, either), Yan Lo REALLY loves his Emissary, his Terracotta Warrior and his niece, Sh'long likes his brother Yu and his Emissary ... Hmm, detecting a pattern there, not sure when I played a game without the big E. Guess it's a bit of a crutch?
  13. I tried to post the link, too, but got the same effect as Aaron that only the video was imbedded. Gave up after a couple tries ...
  14. Thanks for another very entertaining and easy-to-follow report. Always a pleasure to read.
  15. This. The Cherub is such a no-brainer for me. I sometimes even debate 'going Lilith' JUST because the Cherub. It makes some schemes almost trivial, and if I could take the Cherub with other Neverborn masters, I would. Well, not with Lynch or Dreamer, but you catch my drift. And for the record, I don't use marionettes with Collodi (effigies are his totems!) and recently with Pandora turned from the puke worm to the poltergeist. Don't really see the problem, to be honest ...
  16. I don't think that would work, since every model (Zoraida) can only be the target of Everchanging Form once per turn. So it's either voodoo doll or animal shape, not both.
  17. If it has to be Neverborn, Lynch offers some good middle ground between range and melee. He's a middle-range damage dealer who is fairly easy to start with and excels at just taking models off, but is also a great enabler via card manipulation. Huggy, because being able to be brought back, is an awesome crusie missile for a beginner, too.
  18. Hmmm, my only thought was 'Where to start?' ... O.o TT have tons of synergy and so much scheme-marker control, it's almost comical. Just one example - you use LRM and you have trouble with Dig their graves? That scheme practically fulfills itself with one ot two monks (and somebody to smack the opponent down). Like I said ... where to start?
  19. Just be aware that Sonnia can be one of the Masters delivering a bit of NPE to new players (even if you're starting out as well). She's able to blast good portions of the opponent's crew off the board in the first few turns and it can be really frustrating to try and get to grips with her. I know I hated playing against her when I started out, and know others feel similar.
  20. Interesting and easy to follow reports, thanks for the effort! And congrats on the wins ...
  21. Another thing I noticed today while going through GG2017 is that a lot of them seem pretty good for Yan Lo. Lightning Dance appears to be pretty clutch for some things others have to struggle a lot more with, like Headhunter, Accusation, Eliminate Leadership, Dig Their Graves, Set Up, Mark For Death. Others, like Hunting Party or Tail Em, aren't usually that difficult, but can be made easier as well, if you just dance victims into your guys (and keep'em there for Tail Em). What are your experiences with him and GG2017?
  22. Then maybe take a look here: I, too, don't like writing on cards (and would find it really confusing if my opponent did that), so I was very happy to follow the tutorial in that thread. Now other people get token-envy any time I play ...
  23. There are ways to get to 3 Chi that don't involve 4ss and a few cards (well, unless you're really unlucky). Not everybody was still talking about killing that monk ... 2 Master AP - yes. But in a list where Yan Lo gets a walk for free from the Porter and potentially has Fast, too, those 2 AP don't concern me.
  24. That is true, but quite often it's more about spamming the BB damage. But you're right, that is indeed a disadvantage. In almost all situations I'd still rather have the doppel and a shaman rather than two shamans. Especially seen as the doppel can copy Illuminated/Nekima, too, to get her hands dirty if needed.
  25. No, because there's a difference between internal and external balance. I assume that's what Mikey_C was referring to. Meaning: Not all factions are equal.
