  1. No Its a push with a direction, and so has to be directly towards the thing, which is along the lien of center point to center point. And in Response to Bengt if you can't stop at base contact you would stop at the last point you could along that line. You can't push beyond your end point, so ypou have to stop before you reach it.
  2. Try them out. You might use them in a lot of your crews, but as you said, taking that block every time will mean you are missing out on almost all the other options. It is possible to build a Gremlin crew that doesn't kill itself. (Apparently? Although no one is sure why, everyone loves killing Gremlins, even Gremlins!) and so then it doesn't need the healing from the slops. Brewmaster is probably a good example of this. Although saying that, Slop haulers can offer more than just the healing. They are only auto includes if you make them auto includes. That trio are each good at one thing, and don't need the other two to do their thing, so only bringing one of them isn't going to impact that ability of the one you do bring.
  3. Rasputina can work well without Snowstorm, Blessed and Silent one, but you will need to look for some mobility in her crew for some missions. The Acolytes can do this with from the shadows. I'd suggest gettign soem games with Rasputina now that you have her, and see how the crew works for you, and where you think you struggle with them, as eevryone plays slightly differentl, and have different views on exactl the same crews. There are other models in the faction that can do similar duty to those that are missing.
  4. just to say the two decks are a load of old upgrades that already exist, but only in arsenal decks, and a deck containing the campign upgrafes and any erattad cards
  5. From the description its just the upgrades that already exist that aren't packaged anywhere otehr than an arsenal deck. The Back referes to the main rulebook and Crossroads
  6. Likewise, I expect we will be able to buy Dark Carnival Coryphee at black friday. I don't expect them to do a box with the dark carnival and the coryphee.
  7. I don't know what the otehr models do, but they should be perfectly fine with his box. One of the reasons that Jacob is a Neverborn crew is that a Nephlim (mr Grave) is forcing him to do his bidding in return for Jacob getting his Casino, so even story wise there is a nephlim tie in
  8. You can cast it on a lower card if you are prepared to eat corpse markers to increase you Ca for the Activation.
  9. No. A model must still be on the table to be within 6" of anotehr model to companion/accomplce. The sacrificed model is removed before his activation ends See the FAQ
  10. Any reason why you aren't just using repulse?
  11. I don't remember seeing them on Warstores prerelease list that went up till January. That doesn't mean they aren't going to be out this year, but we have no expected date. Might not be until Easter or even later next year There is a long process from Renders that they can show here and models in shops and we don't know how far along these models are
  12. In My opinion, and I will admit to having played more Arcanist that any otehr faction, but I have used all factions on more than one occasion, I find the Arcanists have the best upgrades, then probably Outcast, Gremlin, Ten thunder, Guild and with Neverborn at the bottom. This might be tempered by the fact that EVERY model (bar one) is automatically better with Imbuded energies or Oath Keeper. No matter what I'm doing I will use them. For other factions I have to think what upgrades I might want, and how I'm going to get them to do anything
  13. Based on Past experience buying the Book at Gen con gets you it about 2 weeks quicker than picking it up from a Uk dealer. So I save the hig postage jump and wait the extra time. Waiting is hard.
  14. Books are heavy, and add a huge amount to shipping. (I knock $20 off my shipping by not buying the book).
  15. I expect 6 months, I think that was about how long it took to turn Crossroads digital. Allows FLGS time to sell the physical copies. But thats working from a sample set of 1.
  16. Why would Grimwell hide his work? It looks like its fully sancioned Guild investigations. (By which I mean I've not read any of his fluff yet, but I don't think he his doing anything his superiors don't know about, well any more than any lacky...)
  17. The process for taking an action includes "Step 1 Declare action and spend AP". In this step you need to declare what the action is, and things like Manipulative tests will be taken here (The Charge Action pays for the attack so it doesn't actually need you to spend AP). So yes, every time you take an action you have to declare what it is. Some models have multiple actions they could take on the charge, so you need to tell the oppoent which one you are taking.

    M2E Marcus

1)I personally almost always buy Arcane resevoir on Marcus. and I will spend stones for cards if my hand doesn't support what I want to do that turn. I also recomend a decent number of ss for Marcus' suits. It does require you to know what you plan to do with Marcus each turn. I'm not going to go melee crazy and cast Alpha and Law of meat on the same turn. The option I do do that turn may be dictated by my hand for that turn. I don't use Defend me all that often, its more of a happy bonus, rather than a plan. I'll save a mask for a cerberus leap, if its important for that turn. The Jackolope and gupps are typically leap if they flip it. Silurids and The blessed are more likely to need to leap, but also not suit intensive. so in summery, he can be resource intensive, but some of those resources can be low cards. I have played games where I haven't had a tome in my hand for the first 3 turns, and that can make his limited upogrades much less useful, but they aren't the norm. Have a fluid plan to make the most of your resources, and be prepared to change when you need to. You can't do eevrything everytime, so make the most of what you do do. 2) It depends on how you play him. He can do some nice things with beasts, especially if you build your list to support beasts. You can build crews to not use beasts at all, and its not wrong. (Not the best either ). There isn't a best non-beast to take with him. Likewise there isn't a best beast to take with him. I play him by taking the models which do what I need to do to score me points. Sometimes these are beasts, sometimes they aren't. I look at the mission and pick the models from his hiring pool that I want to use to complete the mission. My big hitter might be a cerberus, or it might be a rail golem, neitehr is always the choice. I might hire a silurid for scheme dropping or a soulstone miner, dependign on what I expect to need.
  19. Just to say, that whilst they might look similar to McMorning (well they are in medical outfits), the work they do is complelty unrelated. McMorning is all about performing Autopsies and post Mortems (After all this is the guild forum right...) where as these work in a mental insitute, looking for witches amongst the mad people, and I imagine studying the effects of allsorts of Malifaux happenings on people (In particular Black Blood from the looks of it).
  20. I would probably go on the 1 sniper is better than 1 archer, but 2 Archers (and Blot the sky) is probably better than 2 snipers. Depending on what you are truying to achieve
  21. Plant evidence is very strong as long as you are planning on dropping scheme markers for victory points. Its not far short of Imbued Energies and Oathkeeper.
  22. All the figures in the starter set are mercenaries, so you will be able to hire any 2 of them into your new crew regardless of which faction you select. Whilst the starter set is slightly more useful if you want to play Guild or Neverborn, actually I would just decide on which Master you like the look of, and buy that one.
  23. It heals exactly one and lowers the condition by 1. One of her upgrades removes the whole condition and heals the amount removed (as a 0 action)
  24. I beg to differ, Union miners are one of the fastest scheme runners in the game. For a given value of fast. And this is because they don't need to move between their scheme marker dropping, so they can happily drop 2 scheme markers a turn. Whilst they don't have a great way to disengage (such as leap), most scheme runners don't. I'll agree that they won't do power ritual as fast as a cruligan, but they will do protect territory or breakthrough or line in the sand much faster. I don't think there is anything in the game that will do line in the sand quicker than a union miner. Or Protect territory. If they are left alone they will sucessfully score unannounced breakthrough and protect territory for 6 points all for 1 5ss model. And I like their gun. It's the cheapest way to set fire to your own models wihout harming them, which is great for Kaeris. I've just finished paiting up my Ironsides crew, so I'm hoping to try her out tomorrow, and will coem back with any views.
  25. In the beta they were all mercenaries, and they had a special rule that allowed them all to be in the same crew if lead by Wrath (so neverborn only) (so 48ss crew, allowign you up to 2 ss on neverborn upgrdaes). Jack daw could also hire them all regardless of faction, but to get the 7 you would need to be playing at the 60ss mark rather than 50ss
