July 18th - New Crews

Legit to bow out on Nightmare because it is after all a more expensive purely aesthetic purchase and if the theme does not grab you then why....

Having said that I'm knife edge balanced, I was expecting price as over US$100 based on shear scale of box but its under (just) which is nice.  Having said that the new crews and fate decks are superb and they are pretty much screaming to be bought and used.  So a limited edition set for pure appearance value on a already looking expensive GenCon weekend online order.... I'm not sure and I suspect a heavy deciding factor will be the US to Australia (damn I hate living so far away) shipping prices which always hurt and always seem to get more expensive.

Please Wyrd do whatever you can to have multiple shipping options and at least one that gets carried across Europe and Asia by donkey and crosses the oceans on a life raft rowed by a discarded Apple robotic experiment someone re-purposed from a dumpster, anything to make shipping cost a little less.  Please......

Nightmare pricing is what I'd expect.  Certainly its biggest detraction here is how many other awesome exclusives are competing with it.  It's actually a pretty solid (if premium) deal when you consider you're getting the $40 Mounted Guardsmen set in it.  Rather unfortunate that the Mounted Guardsmen themselves look fantastic.

Getting Nellie and the Mounted Guardsmen for sure.  After that I've got a lot of temptations, but realistically I won't get them painted before an official release.  Something to ponder for a couple weeks at least.

Main issue for me is because it's so heavily themed, it's hard to expand the crew while keeping to the theme.

Yeah...as cool as these look, I actually like the idea of having an all-mounted cavalry crew so much that I might pass on the Nightmare set.

They will come to retail... define "soon"* :-P

Slightly related way of asking two questions in one, can we expect the Upcoming Releases page to include October before GenCon?  I do like to help out the LGS, but I also want the new pretty models now and knowing if they're coming before the Winter will definitely help my choice :P

Hounds are the obvious thing to add to it and fit fine.  From there I'd probably add some Trappers who can easily fit the apocalyptic aesthetic.  Last year's Miss model is a solid Wastrel option too.

Wardens and the Hoffman crew would also both fit the aesthetic and give McCabe/Rollins more minions to play with. Its what I would have considered before I saw those beautiful new Ripples crew boxes.

That's why you show up early. So it's rather

Come to the Scene - Glue the stuff back together

Game 1 - I play with zooming sounds!

Game 2 - I forfeit glueing stuff back together, still making zooming sonds!

Game 3 - I play again, with zooming sounds!

End - While all have a merry get together, I glue my stuff, with more zooming sounds!!

After Reviewing the newsletter there are a few things I want, but nothing extra than what I was already planning on.  However, I am taking the decision to leave them until they are released generally, simply because I can't justify spending that much with the exchange rate as it is.  Although Wyrd have priced the boxes at $50 (reasonable) they are coming out at £38 a crew box....  £10 more than I usually spend.  Add shipping and possible taxes on top of that and its a no go.

Its not a disaster, Wyrd will still get my money at some point down the line, and I can wait for them.  Gone are my days of having to have the new releases right now loL!

Congrats to Wyrd for these new masters. There are some minis here and there I find unappealing (mostly the 10T box and the poison gamins) but the rest is amazing.

What I think is awesome is that each has a very distinct personality that separates it from the existing masters in their faction (not so easy to do in terms of modeling).

Additionally, I think the Guild reporter theme is great. The Guild already had the beatsticks, the blaster, the construct specialist... Instead of going for "same but different", this is a very original and refreshing concept.

In short, this is great and I definetely will grab Titania at some point for my NB faction. The Gremlin crew is also incredible by the way.

I did a lot of soulsearching and reaffirmed my plans to acquire

a] the A Oni's Wrath and The Sky Pirates Crew Box
b] Add probably the Shadow Emissary to it (it gets praised and there is no firm release date)

though

c] had to drop Titania + Mysterious Emissary, but now I have time to collect Zoraida and Lynch first and slowly grow into Neverborn (if I really, really go that way).

d] Might add the Survivors (for my upcoming Sparks) to the mix, but not a Gremlin Shirt I always wanted.

High shipping costs and importing fees are to blame ;__;

@Aaron I didn't see this question before, so I apologize if it was.

Emissary have personal upgrade cards for every Master in the faction. Here we have a bunch of new Masters. Where will be upgrade cards for those Masters? In masters' box, or in Emissary?

I think its been answered earlier, but yeah, in the future if at all. Which is a shame, because I'm kind of leaning towards starting Ressers with Reva and it'll give me an excuse to pick up that awesome looking Carrion Emissary.

Even without a conflux offering, the fact Reva can target through corpse counters, and the free mindless zombies (that can count as corpse markers) the carrion emmissary can create, I think they go together pretty well already.

Thank you for helping seal the deal. I've been engaging in a struggle between Parker Barrows, Reva, and Titania, and as sweet as the Titania box is I think it might be something where I'd have to wait and see what else Neverborn wind up getting vs Reva's understated look growing on me and giving me ideas about doing a monochrome/greyscale crew alongside Tara.

Other reason I am reconsidering my Guild allegiance- The Brutal Emissary looks awesome but I have no idea how I'll manage to assemble, much less paint it.*

*Dear Wyrd can you please put together a guide for it in Chronicles like you did for the Carrion Emissary? The dude in the cage frightens me.

Yeah, even with just the basic Conflux upgrade the Emmisarys are still quite good, just not specifically tailored to your master. The Mysterious Emmisary is a pretty solid unit, and its Destined ability can give all minions and enforcers within 4" on turn 2 Fast. With Titanias use of scheme markers, giving those models a free Move action can free them up to place scheme markers for her in better positions can be very helpful. Then with the basic upgrade, models within 4 get + to attack duels, and you get a 0 to draw 2 cards. Both of those help any crew.

You can't actually use the destined abiltiy to give fast until turn 4 at the earliest. But yes, the basic conflux is not a bad choice for any of them.

I have the same question.

Maybe we can download from the website.
