  1. I like the new Lynch. I dislike the new Hungering Darkness. Kitty has nothing original so I am neutral. I much preferred the older Illuminated that were more dynamic and outstanding.
  2. I had my first try on special orders in Europe from Wayland. It worked perfectly so I would like to give Wyrd a big thank you ! I will probably order Kitty separately once the special order is available since I already own the full honeypot keyword except for her. As to the Aversions, they are really cool and the Lyssa are not bad either. I can't wait to order them in July :D.
  3. Is there any plan to update the pdf rules and cards that are available to download ? @Stonewall78 Thanks for the comment I had not clicked on all the links in the original post :D
  4. Due to the construction of the story (discussion with Zoraida) and the fact that Lucius is growing claws, I do not think this is the case. Yep I think this is quite clear with the rat catcher guild interaction at the start of the story. I enjoyed the first part of this story. The second part of the story is clumsier because it tries very hard to justify Lucius doing stuff he really has no place to do, especially wandering in the northern hills chasing puppets with a crew of lawyers. The second "board meeting" where Perdita arrives and Yao is extremely rude to Marlow seems really out of place to me considering how the story was developping so far. I think it would have been preferable to place Lucius in a story where he was doing something more subtle (covertly helping the Arcanists to undermine Marlow for example, or getting rid of a competitor on the board while making people think the culprit was an Arcanist or M&SU member), and leave Collodi's demise to somebody else. On the other hand, Titania appeared to Lucius (in Ripples of Fate I think) and called him Captain (If my memory is accurate). Afterwards we have seen no sign of Lucius being affected by Titania's rise to power. Additionally, this story does nothing to tie him to the Neverborn (he is a dual master...). We don't see anything of his cool new theme which is all about secret murders, false witnesses and mimics (on the NB side). There were so many sub-stories that could have been picked for Lucius, I don't get why it had to be killing Collodi and why it was done without introducing any of his 2 new henchmen.
  5. You are correct but they are also under the thrall of Nekima’s tribe. I don’t see them getting emancipated yet.
  6. I finally got the .pdf of the books. I have read 3 stories so far. I'm currently quite disappointed. Nekima-Euripides-Lynch Nekima confirms that she has more balls and a bigger sword that your average giant. She also is as subtle as her sword but we already knew that. Euripides and his pals have the charisma of a group of oysters... Their appearance gives the feeling they appear to say "BTW there is a new master in NB, we swear he is baddass and mysterious...." and to push Nekima towards her fate. Other than that the story is just a far fetched excuse to have Lynch leave the faction. I liked the glimpse into the half-blood situation though. It is nice to know a bit more about them. Lucius - Collodi In Broken Promises we left Marlow a competent leader that had played divide and conquer in the forces of the Guild's greatest foes (Arcanists). Now he is a messy bureaucrat who went way above his head and is not even able to command a modicum of respect from his managers. Yet Lucius sees him as a worthy opponent (the worthiness is not really obvious when we read this story)... Lucius goes to the countryside on a bet with Perdita and beats down a Collodi very easily (too easily for my taste). The bet with Perdita is just here to justify people not asking questions about why Lawyers prosecuting an unknown abductor would be efficient and even realistic in the northern countryside... Zoraida comes out of the blue as a poor man's deus ex machina and confirms that she is not able to manipulate anyone anymore. The fight between the lawyers and the puppets is... well this is a fight between lawyers and puppets... I don't understand anything about Collodi's motivation except that he went crazy. This really looks like a hasty explanation for Collodi's death and Dashel's promotion. I was expecting something better built and more epic (at least Lilith went out in style :D). Hoffman - Joss - Langston The least interesting story I have read for a while (all readings included, not just Malifaux' fluff). Ramos left a few gifts that the M&SU wants to suppress. Hoffman and Joss band together to destroy Ramos' Amalgams. The switch of Hoffman to dual faction and the inclusion of some of the old Ramos buddies into the Augmented keyword is not well built in my opinion. Perhaps there will be more to this story later but now this story feels very hollow.
  7. I don't think the half-blood keyword will be provided to a master outside of NB. They are really related to Nekima in the fluff. As to some characters outside the faction here and there perhaps in the fluff but not necesserally in-game. Characters in the fluff do not always translate to miniature, although they can be cool as hell (English Ivan for example :D).
  8. Interesting and potentially original !
  9. Come to think of it, I have a spare hollow waif now that there are only 2 allowed with Levi :D.
  10. That would be very nice of you. I worry though that shipment would be a killer and will eventually more expensive than the box with Asura Roten don't you think? Thanks a lot but that may be too complicated :D. I'll try to go around on physical stores around here and see if there is anything remaining from old stocks :D.
  11. I checked on Wayland & Element games and did not find any. Do you have any address to suggest? I'll try and go fishing before the boxes are out of stock :D.
  12. In 3rd Edition, I do not see any way of getting separate Mindless Zombies except for the planned content for the Residents of Rottenburg's boxset. As NVB players may want mindless zombies for Hayreddin and as NVB do not have any dual faction master in Resurrectionnists, I find it a pity to have to purchase Asura Roten in this boxset. I don't see myself using the Zombify trigger much though.
  13. The colouring is very nicely done. The characters are pretty much standard steampunk stuff and the poses are static. There is still the usual proportion issues so we have small heads (a pity because the faces are very nicely done) and long legs as if a child was looking at the crew. All in all this is OK but not very original imho.
  14. Yep translation in APP would be cool but my hopes are low. Please kindly note that, from what I know of the community in France, no card in French would have the same effect as having no rule translation at all. Rules are the core rules AND the model cards, not just the core rules. The French community is spoiled with games in French. I don't see myself pushing for Malifaux while Kill Team, Warcry and Infinity are all available in French... However, once we've got the cards and rules, I will keep knocking at the doors to convert people to the best mini game on the market :D.
  15. This is awesome ! Thanks a lot for this. Will the cards follow?
  16. Dear All, Has any news about the missing chapter of the Northern Trilogy been provided? It has been quite a while now that the 2nd opus has been out. It would be nice to have the complete campaign available.
  17. Thanks for having looked into it I guess Malifaux is very unlikely to develop around here. I just came back yesterday from one of the biggest shops in France and they are dropping Malifaux entirely (too few sales). Let's not speak about TOS because almost nobody knows about it here. My analysis is that this is partly the matter of a price level (LGS prices are very high here and from what I heard it is mainly due to a high distributor price), a lack of French version and an overall poor marketing here. Many people I know order from the UK due to product availability and price but, if one day our British friends can agree among themselves as to which kind of Brexit they want, the raising customs duty will probably kill the game outright in here. I may be wrong and I hope I am, but I regret Wyrd's lack of European logistic and marketing strategy. I understand though that you have a lot on your plate and have to channel your energies into the most profitable endeavours. I will still continue to support Wyrd because I like the game and I am a collector.
  18. Gadzook currently has 1 warden and shipping cost to my country puts the single warden at 27 USD... Additionally, availability on Gadzook is not always guaranteed. The M2E version is not available in well known webstores in Europe but available on Wyrd on which shipping costs is usually a deal-killer for European. The model is unless I am wrong not elligible for special order either. That leaves second hand market and luck. So although this is not the end of the word, this is extremely annoying to have to pay for 2 executionners I don't need (as some players have said, sometimes you are on a budget with your miniature purchases). I think this is a poor choice from Wyrd (or a mistake? only one keyword is printed on the box, did they forget the Warden was augmented when the issued the box?)
  19. Not fishing for followers. Just sharing my annoyance and stating a displeasure so that hopefully this kind of sales practice stays limited. And no, although ironic, my message was not a "f** you", I am sorry you took it that way. If it can reassure you, I very often send "I love you" messages to Wyrd in the form of hard cash every time I buy their products :D. This may sound a bit childish, don't you think?
  20. The Howard and Zipp problems mostly come from M2E sprues. Warden and Executionners are not on the same sprues. There is no reason to put them inside the same box. As to the SKU reduction, have you seen the number of stand alone ref boxes? The SKU reduction is very very limited (it mostly comes from having stopped the practice of issuing minion boxes for the minion that were inside the crew boxes). Finally, grabing an old box is not as easy as it was before and who do you want to share with? A Guild player that will also want the Warden because it is in his faction? This is not whining this is complaining about an annoying decision.
  21. In the upcoming release, we will have the joy of seeing the box named "Crime & Punishment" coming out. This box included Augmented models (Warden) and Guard models (Warden & Exxecutionners). Half the models (Executionners) are worth nothing to the Arcanists and yet, this box includes models for Hoffmann. Thank you Wyrd...
  22. Yes these conversion rules are really annoying since a ton of people used the TTB multi part kit to proxy their models, especially those M3E models that are still not out. These proxies are allowed until the official model is released. So then what do we do with the models we have spent time to assemble and paint after that? On my side I also purchased TOS models to act as proxies to a few models in Malifaux. They were still Wyrd models and the use & painting were very clear as to the model's role so I complied with the rules but now it is illegal. I hope that TOs will derogate to this rule.
  23. Although TOS shows all the signs of being a good game, without proper marketing, my guess is that it will not last very long past the momentum provided by the existing Malifaux player base. The problem to push a large scale game at the moment is imho the following: _ Wyrd was too late by one year in the launch of TOS. There was a window of opportunity when Warmachine's Mk3 botched its launch (at least in my country) and when GW had not fully recovered its shine (with the floating moment between WHB 8th ed and AOS and with the previous debate over WH40k's 7ed). _ Now, although I don't think WMH fully recovered, GW is up and running again and is proposing very good products, with an increasing model quality and very beginner friendly (kill team is an awesome set for example, Warcry looks amazing). Guild Ball also appeared at the right time and Infinity has a new edition (although they are skirmish games they compete for gaming time). _ Malifaux itself is competing with TOS in terms of purchasing budget and gaming time. _ Wyrd has not shown any ability to do marketing and promotion (at least on a large scale) for either Malifaux & TOS. Its distributor network does not seem to want/be able to/be in charge of carrying out the work. We are left with the good will of a player base that, in some places, is tired of having to do everything by itself. _ Wyrd has not pushed anything massively beginner friendly in terms of sets so it is only aimed at existing miniature gamers who are already spoiled with choices. I have yet to see anyone starting miniature gaming with Wyrd's products (but perhaps in other places it is like this). I did some intro games but honestly I don't bother anymore. _ TOS has an advantage over Malifaux in that there are rules in several languages but there is no visibility in LGS (at least here in France) so non-english speaker will favour GW's products most of the time. _ I have purchased a few TOS minis just to see how it was and I own some of the latest GW as well. Honestly speaking, I find TOS' minis interesting but lacking and the plastic of a lowish quality. While Wyrd was imho above GW a few years ago, it is not the case anymore.
  24. I have been reading history books about the 19th century and about the British Empire in general. I am in no way an expert but this brought a lot of nuance to my reading of the historical "canon". The colonial empires were often only so by names on maps and the predominance of the "white" civilisation is also to be nuanced. The control over the imperial territories was often only limited to the coastal areas and depended a lot on the local elites. The British army also depended on the Indian troops. The British were able to mount commando missions in Africa using Indian troops for example. The world was a lot more cosmopolitan in the 19th century than we depict it in our own old TV shows full of the folklore of the 100% white western civilisation. I think we glorified it in the past for our own "white" supremacy propaganda. Racial prejudices existed and ordinary racism was very common (see how the Jews were depicted in some newspapers for example). I don't think this needs to be forgotten, if only to emphasize how, during the recent years, we see a resurgence of it in some countries. So I am not a fan of the sterilized world introduced by modern day fictions. That being said, it is interesting to see that some of the behaviours of the 19th century western people was due to the technological advance of the West over some parts of the world. The Europeans had mastered wide range navigation, had undertaken to widely teach their population how to read and write (with more or less success), entertained high philisophical and conceptual discussions, had developped technologies far beyond what a lot of people in the south of the African continent experienced. It is no surprise to see Livingstone being baffled by the behaviour of the African tribesmen and the people of his age to think that they are from different species alltogether. We all know this assumption is wrong TODAY but we should not judge the actions of the past with our modern values and knowledge. However, I can understand why game designers would want to avoid tackling these issues in what is essentially a game with plastic toys and not a political statement. I can understand why stereotypes could be disturbing. For example, having spent a lot of time in Asia, I don't like the mixing up of Japan and China into one whole faction as I think the 2 countries are vastly different. But it's an imaginary world so I don't mind that much. I personally gained an interest in Asia by watching TV shows and reading comics during my youth that used those same stereotypes and this lead me to dig up more information about the "real" cultures involved. Sometimes a bit of stereotype can help inducing people into learning more about other countries/civilisations and this is not a bad thing imho.
  25. Awesome ! I can’t wait to see it on the Apple store ! Do you plan a multi language App ? It would be far easier to convince new non English speaking players if they had access to the same App and were able to set it up to see the cards and rules in their native language.
