r4st4f4n
Mighty it is, indeed. As it is, it looks like the male of the Widow Weaver, though. I was expecting something more original, when I saw the name, like this:http://satellitesoda.com/assets/images/ddf/2015/8/7346-ddf-008--jorogumo-by-zachariahroane.jpg Or this:http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/b3/4e/2e/b34e2efe627f127558b625367278a774.jpgOr - even - this:http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0n2puaQtB1qbayl8o1_500.gif
AverageGatsby
I picture it thinking "how am I going to swing this without cutting off half of my legs..."
SpiralngCadavr
A bit confused on the sex, since, well, the etymology, pun, and mythology all have it being lady-type. However, totally badass, otherwise.
Durza
Who says it isn't female?
SpiralngCadavr
They mimic human females in mythology, so no real argument can be made about demon things having different anatomy, or, rather, not looking female and not being female are equivalent in this context. Lucidicide
The name "inspired by jorogumo" was too long :-p

Nical
Actually, "jorogumo(絡新婦/じょろうぐも)" means it is female. Because "絡" means "binding" and "新婦" means "Bride" by chinese characters. So I thought Asian version Weaver Widow...... But this model looks good.
wana10
Hmmm, not really what I pictured when I saw the beta, largely because like some others in this thread I'm familiar with the legend and this is far more drider than whore spider. Maybe a kit bash with my left over plastic kirai upper half and a spider bottom for a proxy? Will have to ponder I suppose.
Math Mathonwy
Certainly a cool concept. Will be interesting to see how it translates into a miniature. As for it not following the "historical" mythic roots of the entity - well, Wendigo is usually a bit different in "real" myth as well to pick a random example

SpectreEliteGaming
I think it could use some boobs. It is much more simple in appearence than I originally thought it would be... but that's not neccesarily a bad thing.
moxypoo
Damn that thing looks awesome! One thing that I love about Malifaux is that Wyrd takes real world legends, myths, and stories and twists the characters to fit into their own world which ends up with unique creations rather than just transporting stuff in. This makes immersion into Malifaux much easier for me.

Stranglelove
I'm so confused. The picture is gone. Is this preview just the art from Shifting Loyalties book?Is this post really from May 5th?
Kirby
Yes, the preview was the art from Shifting Loyalties. The preview was made long before Shifting Loyalties was available. The picture is broken because it is linked to the old forum back on May 5th. The easiest way to see it is by following the link to BoLS, but again it is the art from Shifting Loyalties.
