  1. sorry I was reading the above as if it was all on one card
  2. Wouldn't Ever-Changing Wind never go off because it's not an enemy scheme marker?
  3. Hi there! I also got Levi on the table for the first time recently. Just reading your list and strategy I think you may have over committed to spread them out. 2 necopunks on their own can have 6 scheme markers down on the opponents side by the end of turn 2. Also, "Of course first turn I couldn’t get a crow high enough to actually get it to work! I put the lodestone on ashes. ". They have tools for the job. You can discard any crow to get that trigger if you want it. One of the things that makes them incredible. Have zero crows in hand? Wait until you flip one to activate them, Pick it up and immediately discard it!
  4. The first diagram is misleading. The equation of minus the height of the lower model is to simulate its height. You should draw the line from the top of the model. Then it will look fine.
  5. Maybe they're fine but the Crypsis Corps seem brokenly good from reading the card
  6. Played the above list with Necropunk and SoDP on both Alyce and Levi. Opponent List: Nicodem with The Whisper Mortimer Carrion Emissary Gravedigger Gravedigger Archie Outcome: I took Assassinate and Breakthrough. He had Leave Your Mark and Hidden Martyrs. Game ended in a 5-5 tie. I had 2 Leylines, 2 breakthrough, 1 assassinate. Summary: It was my first time playing Levi, and I'm not sure I did great but it was a lot of fun. Remembering to get all the Entropy ping damage is a struggle. I was so incredibly close to a 6-4 victory. Both a Scavenger and Levi each missed an attack on his Gravediggers in the same turn. If either of those hits he gets no Martyrs points. Also he was able to pull my Ronin off the marker at the end of turn 5 with a summoned Dead Doxie. He had an 11 in hand so odds were in his favor but we both flipped a 13 on the duel. A little luck for me there and I win. I also failed on two attempts to summon a Abom off a kill (he manged to defend against channeled Levi attacks in both cases. What can you do? Either of those could have swung the game to me. However, my opponent made a couple bad play errors. He thought Protected was 3" and let me get at Nico one turn, and had positioning problems that stopped him from scoring both Leave Your Mark points. Things I'd do differently: I should have worked hard to keep Alyce alive. She went down turn 2 before activating and I really needed a second beater. I was just playing defense in the middle from that point on while I prayed my Ronin and Necropunk would be unmolested. I also annihilated his Emissary, so that seems like it should have been a fair trade but summoners break the rules. Hiring wise, my opponent was super annoyed by Pride so I think he did his job but a 3rd beater or bruiser would have been handy. I also could have used a model with ruthless. Archie was basically unkillable for me. I don't think I bothered attacking him. And when he's close to Nico, that makes Nico also unkillable. A Prospector for corpse marker removal and threatening Leave Your Mark would be interesting, but I don't see how I fit one in. I would not take assassinate against a master with Protected again. I figured Nico would be such a high priority I'd been fighting through stuff to kill him anyway, but he lived to the end and my one point was lucky. I think Hidden Martyrs was the right take.
  7. 1) yes, although it's very unlikely for a number of reasons 2) if the stat has a suit, you add that to the flip. In the example you have your card value plus 5 plus a Ram. So unless you flip the black joker, you would have 2 suits (possibly 2 Rams). This is important for triggers like Critical Strike that add 1 damage per Ram. Yes the card plus sign means you flip 2 cards and pick the one you like best. Sometimes you will flip 2 cards but be forced to take the lowest value, represented by a minus card. You can end up flipping up to 4 cards. 2a) only the model taking the action has to reach the TN. Not sure how to answer the 2nd part of this. 2b) the discard a card in italics is a cost you have to pay for the action to succeed. Damage is ruled by a 2nd flip that's explained in the rules. 2c) Movement is kind of complicated in Malifaux. A walk is an action that lets you move. There are times when you are not allowed to declare a walk like being engaged. A push is not an action, but just a movement that happens. It has to be in a straight line and if a card says you may do it, then you can. Engagement doesn't stop it.
  8. Well if she's getting blasted off the board, the first two things I'd say are make sure you're playing with enough terrain. Performer is very fast so spend those extra moves making sure you have cover/concealment/broken LOS. Secondly, I'd grab the Captain. Use Middle of the Storm and Wind Barrier to keep an important model or 2 safe (slightly double edged sword here since you are setting yourself up being blasted by bubbling up, but should only be taking 1 damage thanks to Middle of the Storm). Then the always generic advice for new players, start off focusing on scoring points. Read the schemes and strats carefully and with each activation think to yourself "does this help me score points" or "is this setting me up to score points later". Performer is very strong but you'll win games while getting tabled and it's hard to get used to. I'd also consider bringing a lot of soul stones and maybe some SS Miners. Until she gets a feel for the crew and game, they'll give a buffer for making mistakes so you can at least keep doing things and keep your models on the table and figure out how things work even if you're losing because your opponent has more/stronger models. You may even want to consider a handicap for a few games like play with 45 stones to her 50. Re: buried and burning. You still take burning damage like normal when buried.
  9. The 3 games I mentioned are all pretty low requirements. You may just want to try giving some a try. Steam has a fairly good refund policy, no questions asked if you play under 2 hours.
  10. If it was intended to let you re-attach the same named equipment they'd just let you equip 2 of the same thing from the start.
  11. Some tactical games I have liked, and haven't been mentioned yet Shadowrun: Daggerfall. There's a reasonable amount of push, pull, create blocking terrain abilities Expeditions: Conquistador. I've actually haven't finished this one, but it's fun. There's a survival element that you may or may not like too (you have to feed your troops and find safe places to camp). They also made a Vikings game that looks good but I haven't put time into yet. Blackguards. Went under the radar a bit, but very fun. Very few kill all enemies battles and a lot of crafted scenarios that are tricky to figure out. Note: apparently the sequel is no good. They tried to do a auto-generated battle system and everyone I talked to said it wasn't fun.
  12. I played through the base game on PC and found it disappointing overall. There's no start of battle positioning so the before battle walking around is annoying in an unfun way. Also the way the enemy difficulty scales up, you end up doing the same percentage of damage with attacks through the whole game (ie like 2 damage on 6 wound enemies then 4 damage on 12 wound enemies later). There are some fun abilities but the game is mostly about stun locking your enemies.
  13. I hope we get a 2nd clarification for "another model" on action triggers
  14. I've been wanting to play Levi for a while so here's my idea New Leveticus Crew (Outcasts) Size: 50 - Pool: 10 Leader: Leveticus Totem(s): Hollow Waif Hollow Waif 2 Hires: Rusty Alyce Pride Scavenger Scavenger 2 Ronin References: Abomination I'm leaving 5 stones for a tech piece against the opponent. For schemes I'm leaning toward Assassinate and Hidden Martyrs, but Breakthrough is a possibility too (especially if you use the remaining stones for Midnight Stalker or A&D). The Ronin can theoretically claim 3 strategy markers in the first 3 turns with no assistance. Using all the movement tricks to get one next to deployment, the center one and then any other one. Final point you can still move 10" and kill yourself to throw to a friendly model in LOS. Also an obvious Martyr model, spending your time killing my runner, well there's a point for me. The Scavengers are incredible denial models for Ley Lines, Leave Your Mark, and Breakthrough. Tough enough to be a challenge for Martyrs. Levi, Alyce, and Pride should make either getting assassinate or killing both Martyr models a cinch. One cheeky thing you can do with Martyrs would be to take the Student of Conflict and choose it plus Alyce. Sure kill the model giving Alyce fast every turn and give me a point.
  15. You Siphon Power for 1 ram and then stone or cheat a ram for a 2nd one and get +2 from crit strike (I suppose you could stone + cheat too but in general Hannah's wounds are more plentiful than stones or cards).
  16. Hannah is incredible for me when combo'd with an Engineer. If you set it up right, that's 2 focused 4/6/8 attacks on turns 2 and 3, and with an assault shield, extremely tanky. I haven't got Lazarus on the table but every time I look at his card I'm underwhelmed. Likewise haven't got Arik in but a 3/5/7 damage track is really good, gravity well is really good against certain crews, and Hannah being able to copy charge up for a min 5 damage seems brutal
  17. If you played in the beta, it was something they changed because so many people were just double concentrating on the first turn with almost all their models
  18. "Hans has no targets so walks and double focuses to setup for next turn." Unfortunately, I think this is illegal. Concentrate is once per activation.
  19. I've always hated how the Guilty look. They seem really silly or goofy when it feels like Tormented should be serious. I think new Ronin look fine. I like the calm collected demeanor (I also liked the 2E versions, sucker for a woman with a sword), but I really dislike the new Viks. I'm so glad I have 2E versions (and I actually like the 1E punk look even more).
  20. Looks incredible and I love the stat card, that's such a nice touch
  21. Made some Outcast strategy/scheme markers (they look cool but aren't great as scheme markers because they poke up. Perfect for Symbols though). If I was more skilled painter I'd try to do the blood splatter but just yellow roses for now. And then bought some Moai statuettes for Leylines off Etsy.
  22. I don't think the Viks make sense ook. They're not durable enough to be your primary beater, but will be your most expensive one. Also you really want both to get full value, and then you're at 24 stones for just them, at which point you could just play them and bring a different master in ook. Maybe if whirlwind was super important it could work out.
  23. You can do that but it's just changing the strat and schemes to the same suit and numbers. HH is supposed to be played with GG0 rules as the GG1 rule sheet says
  24. Update, it's still not working if I log in using google authentication. Initially, none of my crews show up. I can browse to games and see complete games. However, if I refresh it gets stuck at the loading splash screen again. I've only ever used google authentication so I don't know if it affects others.
  25. Or it could be like Sandeep where he is academic but can hire elemental models
