  1. Well, I think you Wyrdos are gonna make alt starters for Masters sooner or later. Both the storyline and new arts suggest that. Contrary to many users I'm not a fan of prioritizing new Dreamer Box - the current one looks great. The crappiest box of all IMHO is the Lynch one, with the Master being the only decent looking model. You've already released Alt Huggy (Mediocre model, but everything would be better than the previous one) so maybe just new Illuminated? Other ideas: New Spawning Mother and Gupps. The Mother is a bizzare, ugly model and Gupps look like a comic relief ('Meesa comic relief too! Also amphibian!') New Doppelganger. The current one is good, but it would be cool to have completely different model not based on first edition design. Swamp elf-style alt Changelings matching the Emissary OR Creepy Emissary that looks like something that can be related to current Changelings models (I prefer the second option).
  2. Hello everyone, In the name of all the organizers I would like to invite all of you to the first Polish National Team Tournament in Warsaw. The event will take place in Warsaw Wargaming Club 'Dragon', near the Chopin Airport, also easely accessed from the city center via public transport. It's a two day-long tournament for three men-strong teams. Due to the proximity of the Holidays we plan to add a touch of charity to the event. Rules: 1. 3x team Fixed Faction 50SS 2. Time for game: TBD 3. Schemes: GG18 (if no final version, the version valid for a week before the tournament) 4. 5 min before the end of round, referee calls for last activation. The active player on each table, which didn`t end, end his current activation (no chain activations allowed) and the players go directly to the calculate VP step 5. All players must have accessories required to play (models, stat cards, fate deck, measuring tape, corpse/scrap/scheme and other necessary markers) 6. No full paint is required but each team will get +2VP to the general ranking for each player that played only using painted models. 7. If you wish to register, please send an email to malifauxpoland@gmail.com. The email should have the names of the players with their factions and the team name. Pairing rules: 1. Team are composed of 3 players with different factions and masters. 2. Before the game (after seeing the 3 tables and scheme pools for each one) the players nominate 3 master they wish to play 3. The captains flip a card and the winner can be team A or team B (reflip ties) Team A: Selects one player. Team B: Selects 2 players to play the selected player from team A Team A: Selected players picks one of the assigned 2 players. Team B: Assigned player chooses the table with schemes. Then team B and A switch Last players play each other on the table that was not selected 4. Determining sides and deployment remains as per RB 5. Schemes and Strategies: each round will have a set of 3 S&S pools assigned to specific tables. The S&S will not be generated using the RB algorithm so there can be pools to make them more interesting (both schemes and strategies can be doubled or tripled on the same 3 tables) 6. The winner of the match is the team that won 2 out of the 3 games. If no team has 2 wins then we calculate the difference in VP from all 3 games. If the VP diff is 3 or less, the game ends in a tie. Else the game ends with a win from the team with the better differential. A win is 3 TP, a draw is 1 TP, a loss is 0 VP. On the saturday after tournament we're organizing an integration meeting celebrating upcoming holidays. We'll prepare some traditional Polish Christmas dishes. Also, brace for vodka. 4. From FAQ: 3) If a model is killed by an Ability or Action, which Crew counts as having made the kill? When a model is killed as the result of an Action, the Crew controlling the Action counts as having made the kill. If a model is killed by an Ability, the model with the Ability counts as having made the kill. From Frame for Murder text (GG2017): (...)If the chosen 'sucker' model is killed or sacrificed by an enemy model, score 1 VP.(...) Let's say the Hungering Darkness casted Heed my Voice on Joss and forced him to attack Howard, killing the latter in the process. Howard was the 'sucker'. He was killed by enemy crew, but not an enemy model, so no points from FFM. Is that correct? Sounds like spirit vs. letter of law to me.
  5. With Lucius you can (and should!) hire Master Queeg. He can force Rougarou to make its (0) action again!
  6. You played it right. With his pathetic defense, Seamus wasn't going anywhere. The Neverborn duo would then feast on his putrid flesh with min. 4 damage attacks. EDIT: Nope, see @Redline's post
  7. You can't copy Hem because it's an attack mentioning a model by name.
  8. @Trixter: Unfortunately, I can't because I don't own models so I don't use them. I can tell you how other Neverborn players I know (over)use them. Mainly as a gunline with one (or two) Freikorps Trappers. I've seen both big Gunlines (3 Changelings, 2 Trappers, Doppelganger) and the small ones (2-3 'lings, one Trapper, Doppel being busy elsewhere). Sometimes they take Lilitu or other pushing/luring model to generate free 14" shots thanks to Surprise! We're shooting faction now, apparently. Less frequently they use Changelings as point fillers - their AP are used to drop Scheme Markers (drop-blink-drop) or to make opportunistic attacks. The trio also make a great countermeasure against Zipp. They're used with Pandora, Collodi, Lilith and Dreamer. Usually they're not used with Lynch (last master using Terror Tots in my area). Mysterious Emissary is viewed as the weakest one, so no summoning.
  9. Doppelganger can copy (1) action of non-leader, can drop scheme markers in melee, on 7 generate one free AP. All that is great but its most powerful ability is Ill Omens that allow you to cheat initiative flip.
  10. You've got no Doppelganger. Buy Doppelganger. Use Doppelganger. Love Thy Master... I mean, Doppelganger. I believe Changelings and Mr. Graves are in Neverborn All Stars. Maybe Nekima?
  11. (note: I'm not a good Dreamer player) I hire Candy with summoning Dreamer. My Dreamer usually has Dreams of Pain, Otherworldly and Aether Connection. Candy has Depression (pun!) and A Thousand Faces. Turn one I stone for cards. After initial 3 summons I chain activate (Accomplice on Otherworldly) Candy, use (0) action on depression to discard a to gain that suit to all casting actions, then make 3 Goody Basket actions (Candy's a Casting Expert) to heal summons.
  12. My bad. I thought the reference was clear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE It was viral once. What I wanted to say is: our models of person surrounded by spirits look terrible, especially when compared to Goryo (Resurrectionists enforcer).
  13. "Hello Neverborn. Look at your Spirits, now back to me. Now back at your Vintage Pandora, now back to me. Sadly, she isn't me. Look down; back up. You're on the tabletop with the miniature your Wrath could look like. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have. It's a miniature with jaw-dropping sculptured spirits you love. Look again; the spirits are moving! Anything is possible when your miniatures are sculptured by a talented artist and not a dweeb." WHYYY?! Why can't we have nice things?!
  14. Well, you've got lots of very useful Pandora models in that 'random buying'. Anybody advised you what to pick? Izzinatah have already given you best suggestions, so there's almost no job left for me. Personally, I would leave Emissary at home for a while because it can be quite dangerous for your own models if you're not careful. If your local player environment is dominated by hordes of cheap models (mine is) use Changelings. Also, I recommand using Poltergeist from Pandora's starter box.
  15. At least two great Neverborn players in my meta successfully run four of them in Lilith's list, accompanied by the Cherub. It's cheap, numerous and AP-efficient Claim Jump task force.
  16. All Victorias players I know use the Child instead
  17. @Da Git So, the only totems that suffer from 'pukeworm syndrome' are Cherub, Goroar and Poltergeist? That's not that bad. Cherub is a nice totem IMHO, especially when you play on GG2016 schemepool (Exhaust their forces). Two days ago on the tournament in Warsaw (GG2017) a player who earned third place did some impressive scheme running with Cherub and a pack of Corrupted Hounds. Honestly, I see nothing good in Goroar, though I never played Titania. Could somebody who actually played it explain to me how to use it properly? It's insignificant peon with low Ca. The only real use of it I can think of is sitting within 6 inches of the center, preferably behind some LOS blocking terrain, and making Defensive Stance +2. I do think most people who criticize Poltergeist never really played him. It's a good, fast incorporeal minion, like Insidious Madness. Plus it has that flips Wp AND Ht 3, so that even in thick melee everyone in range is affected by it. Putting opponents models on flips is the best way to win combat in this game. That's why everyone loves Yin's (0) action. Newsflash: this aura is better. With Pandora's activation control and Doppelganger initiative cheat you can easely set Poltergeist on the position before activating Pandora. Recently I decimated Mei Feng Crew sitting in Vent Steam Bubble using Poltergeist, Sorrow and Inflict. Very card-effective. Very lethal. Plus, her totem has magical extension, so if you play Voices Dora it can move 6 inches and paralyze someone with low to mid crow. It's worth 5 soulstones, isn't it? Best Polish Neverborn player always uses Poltergeist. The pukeworm is cheap and great because all you have to do to make him work is to keep it on the table. That's a lazy man's safe option. But I really doubt it's always the best one. Seriously people: give Cherub and Polter a try!
  18. Hello everyone, After a long break Malifaux returns to "Dragon" Wargame Club! I'd like to invite you to Re/Enter of the Dragon, a 2-day tournament in Warsaw, Poland Entry fee: 15 PLN Fixed Faction, 50 ss, 5 games (3 + 2) Tournament starts at 11 am on the Saturday and at 10 am on the Sunday. Adress: Krakowska St. 110/114 If you have any questions or want to sign for the tournament, please, send e-mail at kamienie.malifaux@wp.pl
  19. 1. Snarky practical joker 2. Inquisitive Kid 3. Self-rightious man Another Woe with Misery Aura + cool triggers for depression = yes, please!
  20. 1) Take either Candy or Teddy, Pandora has little room for costly models. Take Sorrows and learn how to use them effectively. Take Poltergeist - it's solid minion and althought it's true that usually you can't go wrong with Primordial Magic, but sometimes Poltergeist is clearly superior choice so it's good to learn how (and when) to use it. 2) Doppelganger. Iggy. Insidious Madnesses. 3) Depression, A Thousand Faces, Fears Given Form
  21. 1) Nice article, thanks for your work! 2) You really, really tried not to include Doppelganger in many crews that would benefit from one. This is good that you're trying to fight with 'auto-inclusiveness' of this model, but IMHO you should present the best option available to the new gamers. That means Doppelganger.
  22. Add the Doppelganger and you'll have the most efficient Pandora Delivery System available. Turn 1 paralyzing <3
  23. The opponent places his models so there's 1 milimeter of hight 1 cover obstructing the push. Lure is Lure. Pandora-Illuminated auto include thesis aside I don't think the aforementioned minions have similar roles. The Illuminated are heavy hitters with significant resistance to attriction warfare thanks to their healing actions and abilities. The Autumn Knights are tanky control models with pathetic damage tracks. They're more resistant to concentrated attacks than the Illuminated, but without means to heal themselves they will succumb to war of attriction without support. That being said I can see a number of scenarios where the Knights may be better hiring choices than the Illuminated. They're better when Public Demonstration is in play. They can contribute greatly to schemes like set up or detonate the charges (The Thorn especially). The Tooth can be priceless in Guard the Stash with her built-in pushes and durability. Yes, the Illuminated does hit hard, but the enemy will likely send tough models near the Stash Marker, so pushes are more AP-efficient in VP denial strategy.
  24. You've just described how Pandora Mirror Matches look like: - I'm SOOO saaad... - Meee Tooo... Attack using Wp stat is Pandora's unique feature, I'm afraid.
