  1. Yes, that's what ending the model's activation means. For comparison, the Sub Zero trigger: and Regret: So Regret and Sub Zero triggered by one of the attacks granted by Charge, Flurry, etc., both mean that the rest of the attacks don't happen.
  2. The loophole is that the thing removing the Waking Condition is an Ability: and Waking specifies Actions (capitalized, so we know they mean the game term):
  3. The big limitation of the neutral model rules is that if you're sitting inside the ranged attack range of the neutral model, even under your revised guidelines the model won't charge you even if it has better melee attacks. As a case in point, the Witchling Stalkers have a much better melee attack (higher ability score, and higher damage track) that they're not going to use because they can shoot further than they can charge. And that's really the big problem with attempting to write out a neutral model script that's reasonable for everything--the different models are designed to be used by people making decisions, so they really should each have customized scripts reflecting that. The best thing you can do with neutral models is have a neutral third player activate them and do the right the right with them. Anything else is really just using the models as a mechanically scripted hazard, and you might as well leave the rules simple and not as good as a regular model's activation.
  4. I don't think it's so much a limitation as official guidelines. Paging through the various story encounters for exceptions, Persuade Your Forces (Ripples of Fate, page 106) has 25SS Master led crews, and that's not on the game size chart as an option. So if you wanted to specifically play a 50SS henchman-led crew, you need to have everyone involved agree that the variance is acceptable. Judging from how the campaign rules deal with the situation, a henchman led crew facing off against a master led crew of the same size puts the henchman led crew a noticeable handicap.
  5. Likewise, can you point out where in the rules the scale is specified as 1 inch being three feet, or 1 unit of Ht being three feet? That certainly doesn't appear to be the consistent model scale. (Cases in point: Howard Langston, and Ryle.)
  6. There's about a half dozen different models with Lure, many of which have different Ca attributes and triggers (yet the same TN of 12 ...). I tried to remember which one had the version of Lure that you included in your example and remembered the wrong model. All three of the examples are for one of the models with Lure at Ca6, which would be either Jaakune Ubume or a Beckoner. So where I wrote "A Belle", I should have written one of those.
  7. If you play Reva on a board without Ht3+ blocking terrain, you may as well be playing a shooting crew on a table without any terrain. And unless everyone has purchased shooting models and have fully committed to "Hire your crews AFTER seeing the table, schemes, deployment options, and your opponent's faction choice", .or people still have limited hiring pools, those limited pools have to be taken into account when setting up the table. Disclaimer: I think there are people taking bets on the "line of sight to markers" FAQ entry getting modified. Since being able to see the markers is an important limitation on her attacks.
  8. 1. If there's a Rst value specified, then the attacker has to beat the defender in an opposed duel. 2. If there's a TN value specified, the attacker has to get at least that result in order to succeed. (If there's only a TN specified, then it's a Simple Duel, and that has its own examples in the rulebook.) 3. If both values are specified, then the attacker has to do both with the same duel total. The TN value is checked after you go through the opposed duel steps, and whether the attacker is failing the TN threshhold doesn't change who cheats first. To put cards in play... Example A: A Belle uses Lure on a Peacekeeper (Wp 5). Belle flips a 4, the Peacekeeper flips a 2. That gives duel totals of 10 for the Belle, 7 for the Peacekeeper. The Peacekeeper has to cheat first because it's "losing" the opposed duel, even though the Belle is going to fail the TN check if it doesn't cheat a higher card. Example B: Same Belle and Peacekeeper. The Belle flips a 2, the Peacekeeper flips a 4. The Belle is losing the opposed duel 8 to 9, so the Belle cheats first. If the Belle cheats a 3 (to bring its total to 9) the Peacekeeper still has the "opportunity" to cheat a card. Example C: (One of the reasons why the defender still may want to cheat even though the attacker is going to fail) Belle targets Sonnia with Lure. Sonnia has the defensive trigger Reflect Magic which needs and her Wp is 7. Most importantly, Sonnia's defensive trigger applies "After a Ca Attack fails against this model" so it goes off whether the action fails due to a missed TN value or the action fails due to losing the duel. Belle flips a 4, Sonnia flips an 11. The Belle decides not to cheat, Sonnia cheats in the 1in her hand and declares the Reflect Magic Trigger. Leaving off the suits for a moment, the Belle has a duel total of 10 vs. Sonnia's 8, but the Belle's action fails because the TN is 12. So the Lure fails and Sonnia's Reflect Magic trigger and Sonnia performs her damage flip against the Belle. But it still really boils down to this: If both a Rst and TN vale are specified, the attacker has to both beat the defender's total AND match the TN value in order to succeed with the same duel total. If the attacker doesn't do both, the action fails. Edit: Correction to the above: All of the examples were written incorrectly remembering the Belle's Ca value as 6, instead of 8. So it's some other sort of Belle instead of the Rotten Belle.
  9. One of the important things about Reva is that the "and LoS" requirement for Strength of the Fallen is supposed to be a limitation, not just filler words on the card. How much Ht3 or taller blocking terrain exists in your area, compared to the amount of Ht2 blocking terrain? If Lord Chompy Bits (Ht4) shows up on your table, does he have line of sight across the entire table? So please describe the scenery on your table, paying attention to the Ht values of the blocking terrain and how much terrain is present.
  10. The statement in the rulebook hasn't changed or been overridden: That parenthetical definition is why it's interpretation #2.
  11. Two strikes against the Wakou Raiders compared to the jorogumo: Not yet released models. Not giant spider centaurs carrying polearms.
  12. Have you looked at the Stacking rules example? The ability on the Canine Remains: That's what the example is saying is an effect that stacks. Night Falls is going to stack because it falls under the same category "All other effects in the game which are not Conditions always stack unless they state otherwise."
  13. That depends on how good you are at producing visually attractive markers with an affordable amount of burning time. Because the reasons for not making a sale include: The recently announced official laser cut tokens and markers from Customeeple The various token and marker solutions that people can manage themselves (inkjet printer, sticker sheets, and a 1" whole punch produces a lot of nice tokens) Buying unofficial tokens from someone else with a laser cutter The people who have decided for various reasons to do without Then again, you get bonus points if you come up with an attractive way of keeping track of the +X component for cumulative Conditions, something other than just having a stack of Poison tokens. -- If you were just mentioning laser cut tokens as part of complaining about the difficulty tracking the game state without tokens, have a look at the Public Information and Tracking sections of the Gaining Grounds 2016 document. That's one of the negotiated compromises.
  14. There's a rock and roll band (Crossroads Seven), a circus (Dark Carnival alternate Colette set), teddy bears, a giant bunny rabbit and giant turtle (Tortoise and Hair set), gremlins riding bunny rabbits (alternate rooster riders). And an entire spin off game involving reanimated puppets. And a circus bear. Clearly, the reason why there are no penguins is because Wyrd has to have something to but in book five. Disclaimer: The circus terrain set:
  15. All of my references are in the thread which asked an equivalent question a few hours ago: Short Version: Gravity Well does not prevent the placement of friendly models by enemy models, it prevents the placement of enemy models by enemy models.
  16. The ability in question: References for the consensus for what that means: In short: Gravity Well does not prevent Lovelace being placed by an enemy model. It prevents an enemy model being placed when the final position of that enemy model is in 8. (So an enemy model can be removed from the aura using a placement, but can't enter the aura using a placement, unless it's Lovelace's crew doing the placement or it's an unbury or summon into the aura). So Titania can be in range of Lovelace and use 'An Audience with the Queen' to place Lovelace or some other model on Lovelace's crew. But Titania can't enter the Gravity Well aura and then use 'An Audience with the Queen' to place a model in Titania's crew in the Gravity Well aura. (Note that auras are limited by line of sight, and Lovelace is Ht2, so it would be quite reasonable for Titania to enter the Gravity Well aura and then place a Ht1 or Ht2 model behind herself. There's even the FAQ entry stipulating that it's possible for the necessary arrangement of the three models.)
  17. I don't think the name-clicking functionality made it. Once you've gotten to the point where you can see the list of henchmen for a state, then open up the forum, go to the messenger http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/messenger/ and and use the "Compose a new message", and then address it to Junkie. (There's a "Junkie" listed as a henchman in Lapeer, Michigan. Is that the right location for you?)
  18. The thing is, there's two sides to the matter. And anyone who says "It's the other person's responsibility to bring those markers" is wrong. The first side: (Almost) EVERY model in the game is going to drop a Corpse Marker or Scrap Marker when it's killed. Those are markers that the player's models are generating, so technically they're that player's responsibility to bring. In other words, if you field three dozen Gremlin models in your crew, you should be supplying three dozen Corpse Markers for when all of those models kill themselves. The second side: If no one has a rule that uses that Corpse Marker or Scrap Marker, then you're allowed to agree not to bother placing the marker. A note in the rules that fails completely as soon as one model has a rule that uses those markers, or reacts to marker placement. Proper ettiquette is that BOTH players should bring enough markers so that neither player creates a problem playing the game. Because the person who's going to be making use of the Scrap Markers or Corpse Markers can't possibly know how many models the other player is going to field which are going to be generating those markers; but the person who's going to be making use of the Scrap Markers or Corpse Markers is going to know that they're going to need some.
  19. And, for the record, the difference between Prompt and Obey: vs. Perdita's on Hussain's crew, Cassandra and a Fire Gamin are on Xu's crew. Perdita uses Obey on Cassandra to declare Prompt on the Fire Gamin. So Hussain directs the push and Xu directs the (1) Action that the gamin performs. So Xu gets to do whatever Xu wants with the action point, and Xu will be performing the attack flips if the Fire Gamin declares Spit Magma. Hussain takes Perdita and goes up against Asami and some Oni being run on Susan's crew. Perdita uses Obey on one of the Oni. Using Wrath of the Oni, the Oni declares a (1) Charge that Hussain is in charge of, and Hussain is also going to be in charge of both of the attack actions generated by the Charge. So Hussain is going to be performing the attack flips for the attacks. The reason for the difference is that the control doesn't extend past the original target. But, like EternalVoid points out, that control of the original target does last for the entire action and does extend through any generated actions performed as part of that action by the same model.
  20. From one of the other FAQ entries: In other words, 'exactly three inches apart' is still 'within three inches'. And should likewise be satisfied by 'exactly three inches apart'.
  21. The problem is that you're asking for something which is unnecessary given how the rules have been written. yet the FAQ has entries concerning drawing line of sight from models to markers (question #45). In other words, the rules are written using "model" as the generic term instead of the expected generic terms like "object". That leaves players with to facts: 1. "base to base contact with something" means "physically touching with something" 2. Markers denote a section of the table (by default) with the result: 'base to base contact with a marker' is 'physically touching the Xmm sized portion of the table denoted by that marker'. That's what the rules say, in the manner that they've been written.
  22. The ability in question: The reason why it's cumulative, from Stacking, Rules Manual page 63: For reference, the aura defined by Canine Remains: Abilities don't require a +X in their name to be cumulative, unlike how Conditions do.
  23. Beside, or against, someone with the same fate deck. I swear that's the two worst parts about the Puppet Wars fate decks--two identical decks. Played a single game without sleeves and ended up having to count the cards in each deck because someone picked up the other player's card.
  24. To help things go over smoother, point them to the last paragraph of the Stacking callout, where the example is the Canine Remains aura stacking. That aura says this: That's the same sort of situation as the multiple Disrupt Magic auras. And the rules quote from the callout box: The part in red is being caused by the Hunting Dogs aura. That's probably going to surprise people coming from other games like Warmchine/Hordes where the convention is that effects of the same name don't stack unless the effect says otherwise.
