  1. Having now played with/against every faction at least once (I've played real games with Hordes 3-4 times now, and Cult once. Played against Cult several times), I really think the Horde have the largest learning curve/difficulty to play. My philosophy is this: You're going to lose models. Probably a lot of models. But more so than literally anything else in the game, you can keep coming back. Throw bodies at high value targets and wear them down. Put meat shields near objectives. Your opponent may still score but you can sure as hell make them work for it. As @SAYNE said, once your opponent loses something, it isn't coming back. I played a game last weekend of Pitched Assault vs King's empire. Turns 1 and 2 I was behind. Turn 3 we ended tied. Turn 4 I was so far ahead there was no point in a turn 5. That is how I expect most of my Horde games to go
  2. Is there a definitive end time for the sale? Did I somehow overlook it? Doing a group order and need to know what the deadline is
  3. Having played against Duncan a few times (and attending 3 or 4 tournaments with him) you are correct. When he is playing to win, he kills everything turns 1-2, maybe into turn 3. Then he scores whatever points he needs after that
  4. Thanks for all you did for us Kai!! Hope to still see you around
  5. It very could could be OP. But until I see it on the table I'm not terribly worried. Theorycrafting can only get you so far. If that is what happens, I don't blame Wyrd one bit. Erratas have to happen to keep the game healthy, it should be expected. If someone jumps on the bandwagon and spends hundreds of dollars on a flavor of the week army, that's on them when it gets nerfed.
  6. Yes, and as far as I know, she is the only model who can do so. For reference Adaptive Armor says Armor cannot be ignored. Smell Weakness is not ignoring anything. The model is losing the Ability/Condition itself, so their is no armor to not-be-ignored. The upgrade says nothing about Armor being removed.
  7. I think this may fall under the "really cool idea, but ultimately not a viable tactic to win games". I could be wrong, but either way, good catch!! This is really neat
  8. I mean if you find it hard to believe, that's fine. But people I know personally have photographic evidence otherwise The group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/724838594384307/?multi_permalinks=975307689337395&notif_id=1539808260382974&notif_t=group_activity
  9. At least one person in the US has received their goodies (in the facebook group). Don't despair!
  10. Lots of things are changing in 3e. Agonizing over one particular change mentioned in a blurb without any context as to the rest of the game isn't particularly effective. There is a large group of people in the beta all working very hard to make sure everyone, including Pandora, is balanced
  11. I've played against Duncan's "Soffman" list a couple times, it was very effective. Leader: C Hoffman - Cache:(4) Pneumatic Upgrades 2ss On Site Assimiliation 2ss Field Mechanic 2ss Mechanical Attendant 2ss Samael Hopkins 8ss Witch Hunt 2ss Lead Lined Coat 1ss Witchling Handler 7ss Disrupt Magic 2ss Witchling Stalker 5ss Thalarian Queller 6ss Monster Hunter 6ss Watcher 4ss I've also seen him play a Hoffman/Papa Loco "Boom Bots" list that tabled his opponents crew turn 2 I think (which is just what Duncan does to be fair), but it was more impressive than the Pere Ravage/Iron Skeeter bomb I've heard about
  12. I do not like the new bases, at all. Almost every Malifaux player I know magnetizes bases for transport (because foam with some of these sculpts is a death sentence). Now there is no room for a magnet, without the base being risen off of your tray
  13. "I brought my party cleaver!"
  14. Sorry, Toledo Ohio USA! But if I'm ever in Spain I will bring models!
  15. With Arcane Shield that reduces to 0, it can. You pick the order that the reduction happens in. In the case of armor this makes no difference, but with AS they can reduce with the aura first, then their own ability
  16. Don't underestimate "Protected by the Union". Combined with the steamfitter, Ironsides can be Armor* 2, and Mages are Armor* 2 reducing to 0 damage. Means most minimum damages don't even touch them by default. He also definitely still benefits from HPM. Double positive to hit is better than single, and a positive to damage never hurts! As for the scheme marker shenanigans, I likely won't use Spring Traps super often, but I think he does his job for 8 stones
  17. @subgenius13 and are already plotting demo nights at our LGS in Toledo, since a bunch of people were interested in the game but didn't buy in early. We will drag our store owner tooth and nail into stocking this awesome game!
  18. Yea I realized that during my first game with Kaeris, after deployment haha. Had to think about positioning a lot more than anticipated. Also, good catch that Well Rehearsed does nothing for the Golem, I missed that
  19. Anyone else found Grab and Drop to be problematic with the Fire Golem? Removing the burning is non optional, so you basically want to never ever activate the Golem within 6" of Kaeris with that upgrade
  20. The people I play know to target Cojo first, but that doesn't usually matter. I want them to go after him. because he's so difficult to get rid of when set up correctly. It takes something like Nekima to kill him in a single activation, and if you set up right, the Medical Automaton should be nearby to pull him to safety, then heal him back up. But, if your opponent actually sinks tons of AP (double digits is very possible) into that 7 stone investment, it was more than worth it.
  21. He has more pressing matters than a lit bomb, there are oppressors to usurp!
