  1. Reva & Vincent: Guises of Death Beyond Death Blood Mark Litany of the Fallen Deal with Death Soulbound (I assume these are also in Reva's box, but can also be used by Draugr), the first two are not rare so you could have several, the last is rare 2. My Fight Is Not Finished The Gift of Death Another Purpose Archie: Corpse Armor Hulking Leap Doc Found a Squid Today Others: Wronged Spirits, rare 1, 0 cost, boosts nearby Onryo Haunting Cries, 0 cost, Philip & the Nanny Admiration, rare 2 My Little Helper, rare 2
  2. It's usually on one of the inside flaps of the box. It's a small round white sticker with two letters and two numbers below them, e.g. my Canine Remains were packed by "EC 42".
  3. You should get the Carrion Effigy because he's a cute little plague doctor. Also if you get into Spirits you should get some Gakis since they can be summoned with triggers by both Kirai and Datsue Ba. They are also relatively cheap summons with Blood and Wind/The One Left Behind that can quite useful in some situations (e.g. clearing corpse markers, scaring Gremlins).
  4. Yes, by my reasoning the area end up counting as terrain. This is because the effects an area, not models. If the action read something like "...models within 4 count as being in soft cover terrain." it would directly apply the effect to the model and the 1" rule would not be relevant.
  5. For a card-rule to overrule a rulebook-rule it will have to do so explicitly. This does not. "Within" is for some reason pretty much always present in effects, even though it's part of the rules themselves so I don't see why you are obsessing about it. The important thing is that s that that directly affect models say some variation of "models within ", The mist say "area within ", yet you insist that it has a direct effect on models. You are the first person to bring up any kind of fluff argument, so don't try to pin that nonsense on me. I'm only applying the rules for cover as they are written in the rulebook.
  6. The FAQ shows intent. But more importantly the same section that you refer to for the 1" rule also say that you get from terrain with cover traits. So if the area around the Crooligan isn't terrain it doesn't do anything. Well I would put the emphasis on "area". The Mist has an effect on the area.
  7. The Ht has no effect what so ever on cover, LoS line are always drawn top down and if they pass through/over the Soft/Hard Cover (and the target is within 1") then that is it. Even Vantage points only ignore intervening terrain for blocking purposes, not cover. I also object to the notion that you can have soft/hard cover without terrain, though is not spelled out in the rules. What we do have is that you only get for terrain with cover traits (p 41), the rule book never considers the possibility of cover by itself. And secondly we have the FAQ for markers: From this I draw the conclusion that the area around the Crooligan is actual terrain.
  8. Burning happens in step 1 of the End Phase "Upkeep", step 2 is "Earn Victory Points". So no, the model will die first. Page 35 of the rulebook.
  9. The point of a lightbox is not having to rely on daylight. The colour of daylight varies noticeably with season, time of day, the presence of clouds (and their thickness and type), and various other atmospheric phenomenons. So if you want a paint scheme that look the same on two models to also look the same on photographs taken at different times, get more controlled light rather than relying on the capriciousness of the sun. Apart from stronger or more lamps you might also look at thinner diffusion. Or skip the diffusion, if you have many weak lamps with a good spread the shadows might not get that sharp anyway. Photoshop/Gimp also have many ways to adjust colour and light of a photograph, and they will be easier to use if you have a consistent baseline (i.e. no daylight).
  10. Hidden Agenda should have: "If Misaki is the Crew's Leader this Upgrade may be attached regardless of declared Faction."
  11. Blood Ward upgrade: Friendly models with the Warding Runes Upgrade gain the following Ability while within 10 of this model: Protection from the Blood: This model is immune to Conditions caused by enemy models and damage from effects. Immunity box (page 39/36): If a model gains immunity to a Condition while it has the Condition, it immediately removes the Condition. Imagine that the model with Warding Runes is further than 10" and gains a condition due to an enemy model, it then moves within 10" and gains the immunity. Does the condition remember that it was caused by an enemy model and drop off? --- Spotted: This Condition is removed if this model is outside of Line of Sight of all enemy models at the end of its Activation. No Action or Ability can remove this Condition. If yes to the previous question and the condition is "Spotted" would it be a case of an ability trying to remove the condition or has the Ability only helpfully provided a bit of immunity that in an unconnected way does all the work?

True. While the Blood Ward is powerful I don't find the mages very useful themselves so I forgot about them.
  13. It's worth noting that the model will still be rooted at its new location.
  14. During Shifting Loyalties beta we were told that there would one "model" for each faction that let you place your 30 mm Master model on a themed pedestal or something on a 50 mm base and use them as Avatars. So what has happened to these products?
  15. To me, for actually playing the game, there are really only two things that matter, clarity and easy handling. Pretty pictures are fine for one flip through but after they become an annoyance if they interfere with clarity (which almost all Wyrd's decks are guilty of). I prefer the suits to look like they do on the stat cards (plain text like "Seriously Twisted" is fine too), if they get too distorted and artsy they get harder to decipher than regular playing cards! When it comes to handling, I find cheap convenient store playing cards made from coated paper stock much easier to handle than slippery plastic cards and a lot more durable than the one Wyrd paper deck I have. I've not used the plastic deck long enough to get a feel for their durability. What card first had the black colour on the back chip off from my paper deck? The black joker!

It feels like Toni herself would be very vulnerable to Accuse if you use her as a tarpit. Only protection is to activate her first (if you win Initiative), but I don't think there is that much incentive to do that unless you take Come Get Some.
  17. Grab & Drop is "target enemy model". Otherwise it would be an amazing way to move your own models around as it doesn't have a TN and relenting would mean 0 damage.
  18. I have two, one of the original paper ones, which I don't particular like because the black colour on the back started coming of immediately so I had to sleeve them and I find it awkward to shuffle sleeved cards. Then I got Bad Ink, because I liked the art, but the cards are very slippery. And while that is better than sleeves I wouldn't go so far as referring to it as a "favourite", "lesser evil" would be more accurate.
  19. I used LibreOffice Draw to put the cards I wanted in one file, changed page format to landscape and size to the images' native size, put one image per slide, export as PDF (uncheck reduce resolution). Then print with Foxit Reader with multiple pages per sheet (3x3). This gives normal sized cards with A4 paper, you might have to tweak something if you use letter paper.
  20. Resource manipulation seems to thrown in as filler on a lot of masters. It's defined as "Utilizes a specific resource in an interesting way." but when Ramos gets a two for using scrap markers in the most typical way possible it feels kind of forced. Titania doesn't get a number at all even though she is the poster child here (she uses scheme markers to deal damage instead of what they are "supposed" to be used for). I agree that casting damage isn't a useful distinction. But having ranged, melee and AE is also problematic as AE can be both ranged (Sonnia) or close (Viktoria). Some individual critique. Ironsides: She gets Melee 1, Conditions 3, Resilience 2 even though she deals middling damage and only uses a condition on herself as a resource. Her stand out things are Hand Picked Men, one of the the more powerful buff auras in the game (force multiplier 1), her ability to push enemies and keep them near her (control 2) then I guess you could maybe put resilience or damage 3 since she can do some healing or damage under the correct conditions. Mei Feng: I'd put in Force Multiplier for Vent Steam instead of resource management (which I assume is there because Railwalker can use scrap, though I think it's more common for her to step on constructs directly). Not use about the exact order on her as Vent Steam can see a lot of use depending on opposition. Ramos: Summoning 1 is fine, I'd put force multiplier as 2 (he has several buff auras) and damage 3 (Electrical Fire and Uncontrolled Detonation can both be strong in conjunction with his summoned Arachnids). Rasputina: No idea what resource she is supposedly using? Damage is her primary focus sure and she have control with Ice Pillars and Paralyse. Then I guess I'd put Force Multiplier 3 for December's Touch if I had to put something. Kaeris: Force Multiplier 1 without a doubt, she has several auras/pulses. Mobility 2 perhaps, but then it gets tricky as she is spread quite thin over several areas (ranged, melee, summoning, control, scheme, resource manipulation (having burning on the correct model in the correct location is quite important to her)). She really needs a tick the Jack of All Trades column. Colette: I think I'd put resource manipulation rather than mobility as she uses scheme markers as a resource to fuel other effects. Might do more later.

I think the main problem with seduction against an "important" model is that it's a simple duel so you can't force it through, sure you might draw out a card, but that's a small consolation if you really wanted the debuff. So I think it's mainly useful for destroying scheme markers or catch several models if you just want to kill something, e.g. for Hunting Party. Not sure what you mean by "hypnosis", Mannequins don't have anything called that. Joss do, but perhaps you don't have him? His attack is quite a bit stronger than a Union Miner so you might consider getting him.
  22. Mei Feng's Railwalker is an interesting data point, it has a trigger that lets you take another Railwalker by name, not "this Action". I can totally see not allowing the Malifaux Child any follow up actions from triggers, I'm only sceptical to allowing some and not others without more explicit distinctions than those of the actions discussed so far. This conundrum also applies to Wendigo, who can use Magical Extension to cast December's Curse with its Overpower trigger. --- Just Like You (and Magical Extension) has kind of sloppy language, in the first sentence it uses "This Action" to refer to Just Like You, but in the following sentences it uses "This Action" to refer to the borrowed Action.
  23. It does. I don't agree that it makes a difference though. It feels kind of arbitrary to me to allow one but not the other depending on how the action is referred to, it's not like there is any question of which action we are talking about. It's quite common for different phrases to be used for the same thing in Malifaux.
  24. So what is your stance on triggers that repeat the same Action (e.g. Kaeris' Flaming Halo)? Just Like You doesn't give any indication of how long the Malifaux Child knows the Action, just that he can take it, but it's perhaps just the one time? I know many people use Malifaux Child to double cast Flaming Halo on friendly models (I've done it myself) but that doesn't mean it's correct.
