  1. I think the release schedule is actually very good! There was a discussion on Warseer just before the crash about alternatives to GW, and claims were made that GW is the only gaming company able to produce more than a handful hard plastic kits a year. Wyrd delivers that handful every month! I do agree that being a Wyrd customer would've been less frustrating if the lag between rules and models were smaller, but I believe I've heard announcements to the effect that quite a bit is delayed through manufacturing. This is part of what growth is, and a rather small nuisance compared to only a handful kits a year... That said, I'd be happy for the release schedule of new (model) rules to slow down a bit, so there'd be less need for proxies and such, but a minor nuisance at worst..
  2. Count me in for Henchman! Awesome initiative! :-)
  3. I'm thinking a thin strip of plasticard filed down should look decent as a blade if you can get the gun/hand from a separate source... That's how I did the claws on my scratch built Ashes and Dust...
  4. Hi, any word on when we should expect the missing Aionus models? I might have missed announcement on this, but haven't seen anything anywhere...
  5. I think this one is good, but I agree that more tattered robes would've been nice... Not decided on the serrated beak, but rather easy to remove if one should so wish... Overall I think Hodgepodge is the best emissary, followed by Lucky, Brutal and this one...
  6. Some work, but those ttcombat train kit could be made much less boxy with some green stuff+magic sculpt, some fine sandpaper/files and lotsa patience. Way cheaper than o-scale stuff, and pretty cool looking...
  7. Interested to se replies, still waiting for mine...
  8. Try out Mr. Hobby Mr. Dissolved Putty. Despite the silly name it's Da Shit for gap filling plastic miniatures! It's a bitch to deal with, as you need to stirr it often (I always try to shake it a lot before opening the jar, and have all the gaps lined up in advance), but it can be thinned with thin poly cement (like Tamiya) Mr. Hobby solvent and it's hands down the best there is. It's based on a mix between a plastic based putty and the solvent in plastic cement (Toluene unless I'm mistaken). This means that the putty will bond with the plastic, and very little goes a long way in hiding the gap. Thus lesd risk of obscuring details. I like to use coctail sticks for applications. Also, you should get a set of diamond micro files if you don't already have them (cheap off eBay), and som purpose made sanding sticks for plastic modelling (Tamiya is not too expensive and perfect for the job. Flex-I-File is the brand I'm currently using. One package should last you years...). These are fine enough and thin enough that if you should fill, say the ribs, with putty, you can file away the putty while leaving the plastic in place! These days I only use thinned down liquid green stuff for truly hairline cracks (and for metal minis), and always applied with a cheap paintbrush. Dissolved putty for everything else, apart from resculpts/conversions or truly humongous gaps, which get filled with Magic Sculpt, sometimes mixed with Green Stuff for more flexibility...
  9. Are you looking for nagnets to attach your models to the bases or to secure the bases to a carrying box? For the latter I use disk magnets that are slightly thinner than the height of the round slot in 30mm bases (I find that even with relatively heavy metal models the neodymium magnets are more than strong enough even when there's a little gap), and for 50mm bases I use two or three smaller cylinder shaped magnets fitting in the small "tubes" underneath. This is usually enough for all plastic models. 40mm bases are more difficult, as one single cylinder magnet might be a little on the light side, especially for ild metals. You can get bar magnets fitting the width of the rectangular slot, and that might be your best bet. I find solidly fixing the magnets to the base to be the number one concern! Always remember that it will annoy you if the magnets protrude from underneath the bases, so thinner is better. Also, there might be minute differences between bases, and even magnets in the same base, so always make sure you have a little bit of clearance. Measure the sizes you need with digital calipers, and eBay is your friend who can get you any size of magnets for cheap...
  10. Famous last words.... Joke aside, I haven't gotten to put together my Bushwackers yet, but a few of the Bayous are seriously fiddly! But so worth it afterwards... :-)
  11. They've already gone on record that arsenal decks were a temporary solution. Thankfully they've now launched a replacement! :-)
  12. I realise we're probably entering the territory of improbable suggestions, but it would be very cool indeed if one could upload a picture for the card. Imagine having your own paintjob on the card! Freebooter's Fate did this for their digital crew creator, but it would be even more awesome for printed cards...
  13. Awesome, you guys are the best! Hope the ltd ed cards will be available as well! :-)
  14. This. Is. Awesome!!! Realistically though, I'm probably not going to stand in line to buy on release though... I'd be all for buying a bundle to create a complete themed table, but the coloured Plastcraft stuff is not exactly cheap... I don't think it's overcosted or anything, but it's expensive high-end stuff. Now, if I'm to invest enough money to fill a table I'd be much more likely to shell out for a set that more masters would feel at home in. This is PERFECT for Dark Carnival, great for a number of others, looks amazing (can't emphasize this enough!), but will be slightly awkward for some other matchups and is extremely specialised... Some years back someone built a dreamer-themed table out of Legos, and it's one of the most beautiful tables I've seen. But unless I played predominantly Dreamer I'd rather get something else for myself... TLDR: If I can manage to squeeze it into my 'faux budget I'll be all over this, as it's probably the most beautiful full-table set out there. I wouldn't get it as my first/only set of terrain though, and probably not as my second either.... Now, if the ColorED line of swamp-themed terrain got expanded enough to a full table on the other hand...
  15. Not the worst Gremlin to put together but by far the worst gun, I can feel your pain...
  16. Cheap access to multiple sling slaves, high move and initiative, fighting claws and a really effective set of skills available means they quickly becomes machine gun wielding close combat monsters that get around better than everyone else...
  17. Necromunda was only balanced among the core gangs (ditto Mordheim) try playing with Spyrers/Scabbies/Arbites/Xeno and the game gets stupid. Battlefleet Gothic remains my favorite minis game when it comes to the actual strategy and aesthetic of play, but Malifaux's flavor is much more fun... Don't think Skaven was particularly well balanced in Mordheim either, especially against crews with little shooting like Cult...
  18. Are you sure? Latin pronounciation is a bitch due to it not being an actively spoken language, but I was pretty sure "o" was probounced like "aw", not "oh" in English... I'll check with my brother who's got a Master on Latin later...
  19. Not nnecessarily saying you're wrong per se, but not totally on board here... I got the impression that Three Kingdoms was one rather unified and centralised political entity, though undr heavy guild influence. Also, while I agree Mei Feng is pretty heavy in revolutionary symbolism, she's clearly a worker leader (in other words not Maoist). Red China in our world was not a thing until after WW2, so the timeline is pretty screwed up if an industrial socialist is meant to represent Chinese influence within TT... Again not saying you're wrong, but it seems like a bit of a stretch. I also think nationalism is less pronounced in this timeline, it seems like the Guid has largely supplanted the Nation State...
  20. If you're worried about soulstone pool hodgepodge effigy should be a no-brainer with Leveticus...
  21. Not done this myself yet (smoke Tara still on ny todo list) but matt varnish generally have a lot more tooth than gloss...
  22. The event was when the Red Cage fell, and all (?) soulstone users momentarily manifested as avatars. Given the high number of soulstone users in all of Malifaux it was a rather cataclysmic thing, hence the name The Event... The 1e books (or the podcast) is where you'll find this storyline...
