  1. Trixie is a must. The cheat initiative will often be the difference between a model killing or being killed. I also giver her quality mash. She can do all her stuff plus now heal 3 times if needed. I like taking Sammy. Her ability to stop a character walking or declaring triggers can be vital against certain opponents. (looking at you silent ones) I've been using Roja, Trixie, Sammy and a stuffed pig for hardcore henchmen. Keeping Roja alive is hard but that's why I give quality mash to Trixie. I retired this crew as my opponent could not win. Tonight I'm going to use McTavish as I just bought him (will have to proxy tonight though). Not sure what crew I'll take with him yet but Gators are on the list. This is a non competitive game so I won't be trying to build the perfect list, just trying stuff for fun.
  2. Play Zorida. Put Lenny next to Roja and a nurse in support. It almost feels like cheating.
  3. Zorida is an odd-ball in the Gremlin crew but she's my new favorite. Having a nurse in the gremlin crew is quite funny... Lenny getting healed without getting paralyzed will demoralize your opponent. Roja Mancha can also pull this off or toss mud on someone who's been paralyzed. And that voodoo doll will be hated! Sammy and Trixiebell are almost auto-include. I like Wong as he can pull off a lot of scheme marker tricks. Glowy is a lot of fun. Over Easter a bunch of new models were released. I purchased Rooster riders, McTavish and Old Cranky. The Sow was not on my list as I don't really have a pig list. so umm
  4. Finally I was able to give you some money. McTavish, Rooster Riders and Old Cranky have been ordered. Now if you guys can work on Jaakuna Ubume I'll send you even more of my money
  5. You'll need pigs (both piglets and stuffed pigs). With Gremlins there are a lot of ways pigs end up in your crew. Many models have ways to summon them. If you are playing local games just proxie them in. The pigapult does need pigs to be really effective. However it can also be used as gremlin delivery device. Any scheme that needs models to be somewhere on the board can be achieved by simply throwing them there. The cost of running the pigapult is high. I find 50ss games to be where I can include it. Often when I have a Somner crew I use it, summon and fire gremlins everywhere for gremlin style chaos. With Ophelia it's nice to be able put her and Francois behind enemy lines in the first turn. Just the threat of the pigapult will cause the enemy players to change how they play and the crew they chose.
  6. I see you have nurses. If you get Zoraida you can hire them in as nurses. Healing Lenny from 1 WD to full and he's not paralyzed is golden, did this in my last game. (much amusement was had... on my side of the table anyway) also Roja can become immune to paralyze too. I second the love for Sammy. She'll be in every crew I ever build from now on. I ran a crew with Zoraida, Sammy, a nurse and Trixiebelle. Lenny and Roja were my beatsticks. Just too many tricks and abilities. Frankly this crew was too over-powered. I destroyed my opponent. I did not even play well.
  7. Sammy is my new favorite gremlin. Followed closely by Trixibell (give her a gun and she's a killer, give her quality mash and she's a super strong healer). Zoraida could be interesting as she is both Gremlin and Neverborn. Pigapult works well with Ophelia as it can throw her crew all over the place. You should get rooster riders as soon as Wyrd releases them. Better submit this now before I mention Wong, Mah Tucket, Somner crews, Slop Haulers... oops too late
  8. So Hans on HT6 is only HT6 so no LOS on behind the other HT6 buildings. That helps. Still not sure about how to treat HT3 terrain. I do not like having to avoid certain terrain as this seems to be a work-around rather than a fix. Just say he can see over HT3 if he's 6" (his current HT) from it (for HT2 and HT1 models). If target is HT3 then he sees it anyway. This will be the house rule we use from now on. By the way I had Sammy with animal shape. Lenny threw her 10" and she jumped 15" right next to Hans and sat there for the rest of game (she had entourage and bodyguard on her - 7 easy points and a nullified Hans for the win)
  9. thanks for the link. I'll cut to the chase - when do I get my rooster riders so my Gremlins can claim their birthright and rule Malifuax
  10. so I played a game last night and Hans was on the other team. He sat on a HT6 building He's HT2. It seemed he could shoot at almost any part of the board. All the HT3 buildings did not block LOS. Even the HT6 buildings seemed to offer no LOS blocking (we house ruled they blocked LOS) The current LOS rules makes me want to carefully bring in terrain. it's too easy to create bias towards range models. I've seen this discussed a lot and no one ever seems happy with the current set up. Lots of confusion and game situations that cause arguments. I think with some simple rules this could be avoided. For example Hans is consider HT8 so he can see over any building less than HT8 that is within 8inch. If he's more than 8 inches away then people get LOS blocking. I'd say that LOS blocking happens if the shorter model is within 1inch of the terrain. Could add that the shorter model just needs to be within the HT of the terrain. Example: HT3 terrain the shorter model (HT2 or less) needs to be 3Inches or closer to the terrain. This requires 2 measurements and it's not trigonometry. I need to draw a few pictures I think.
  11. Did not appreciate the effort going into getting these models into production. Will you ever move to 3D printing? where can I actually find release dates. I sort of know what you are going to say but I have to ask.
  12. Thanks for the replies. So what I think you guys are saying is that the H3 model can see the HT1 model no matter if he's on or behind the H2 blocking territory. Vantage point is not even used for LOS when model HT => terrain HT. That makes more sense than the way I thought it was, I just think it takes away from immersion. So to hide my gremlins I need to use 3HT terrain more often....
  13. But you take forever to release models. Rooster riders, Jaakuna Ubume, Old Cranky just to name a few.
  14. Here's the situation: You have a hill that is height 2. It's a 6 inch long hill. A height 1 model is within 1 inch from the base of this hill. Two height 3 models are placed, one is behind the hill (7 or more inches from HT 1 model) the other is on top of the hill but more than 3 inches from the edge. Right now the models that are not on the hill have LOS on each other. Standard LOS rule. However the guy on the hill is not within 3 inches of the edge so vantage point says he can not see the HT 1 model. I like the vantage point rule. Seems right that a small guy can hide behind a wall. I think the LOS rule is broken. Merging vantage and LOS seems to be a solution. For a HT 3 model to see a HT 1 model (that is 1inch from obstacle) over a HT 2 obstacle they need to be within their height of the far edge of that obstacle (just like Vantage point). Is that too complicated?
  15. I ran a few games with a Mancha Roja crew. I chose Trixie, Sammy Lacroix and a stuffed pig. Gave Quality mash (the heal upgrade) to Trixie and that leaves one soul stone for an upgrade of your choice. Hardcore henchmen team with 3 henchmen - seems right to me. Sammy's ability to turn off triggers and prevent people moving is very strong. I shut down and wiped out a Decembrist crew with this. Trixie is completely OP for henchmen as initiative is so important plus she can go reckless and heal 3 times... Her push and pull ability is great for control in the turf war area. I feel these two just mess with the opposition. Like Trixie puling Roja, slapping snowstorm and then having Roja smash him - frozen heart did not help! Or Sammy makes a model unable to walk and then Trixie pushes them out of the turf war range. They all have good defense and WP. Your opponent will hate you. The stuffed pig is filler, keep it alive for activate control or just charge it into their pack. Old Cranky may be a choice but you'd lose some upgrades. I want to try this at some point.
