brimmstorm
I'm looking at getting back in to Malifaux and was wondering if people stick to just one Faction? Or skip from Master to Master reguardless of Faction? I"m not sure if I should dive head first in to Guild or spread around to other Masters. yames
i skip around and most people were i play do usally we each have a main faction we have large chunk of maybe 2-3 masters and then have masters from secondary factions who we thought looked cool or playstyle intrigued us. Buck Dog
Its a real mixture where I am, some people have just one faction, some people have one faction + Mercenaries and some people have a couple of masters from several factions. I currently only have Outcasts, but as I have Levi I can easily see myself getting Hoffman. Or Ramos. Or Collodi..... Or all three
Slinkdawg
I am trying to stick with 2 factions and have been pretty satisfied with that approach. It lets me realistically choose either faction and be able to field a decent crew for that day's strategies. Thanks to low model count you don't need whole armies for each master. A couble key substitutes basically give you a different army.
Katcher
As mentined above... It is not so expensive to get more masteres with different playstyles...Got Dreamer and Von Schill and seriously thinking about Kirai..
Er1k
~Hi I now own 3 factions. I'm trying to concentrate on just one at the moment so I can learn all their nuances and hopefully become a better player
Ratty
I'm on 2 masters from Neverborn, Ressurectionist and Outcasts. I think 2 from a faction is a nice number especially if you can share models between them. Eg Jack Daw, Onryo and Hanged between Kirai and Seamus, All the mercs and Freikorp between Viks and Von Schill.. and a lot of models between Pandora and Zoraida including Coppelius, Kade, Candy, Stitched, Teddy. karn987
I think in general... people tend to play from 2 factions. I know I personally have models from 3 factions and will soon own a master from 4 of them soo... yeah =D
Spoon
I have one main faction Ressurectionists. I focus on one caster at a time untill I am comfortable taking them with all stratagies and schemes. I am on Nicodem now, but any caster after this will be fun. I'm not picky hahaha. Cats Laughing
I play masters, not factions, so I have: Rasputina Ophelia I'm thinking about getting: Kirai Dreamer Collette (would start me down the road towards playing a faction
xxXhayzelXxx
Even though Im a devout Neverborner, even i have models from different factions. go with what you think is awesome... (neverborn is the best mind you)
Elazar
I have four masters currently The Dreamer, Marcus, Leveticus and Perdita. That means I'm missing a Resurrectionist Master to complete my Malifaux Rainbow
EricJ
*whispers* When official Organized Play arrives, there may be some special rewards for those players who have learned a little bit about winning with all 5 factions

Chucklemonkey
*whispers* When official Organized Play arrives, there may be some special rewards for those players who have learned a little bit about winning with all 5 factions Oh dear. Now I need an arcanist crew as well as buying Hamelin. I see a puppet showgirl crew on the horizon.
Rathnard
Generally I've stuck to one faction or to be more precise, I've stuck to one Master. I've been enjoying Zoraida too much to consider playing another master for more than the odd game. EDIT: Although EricJ's above comment is certainly encouraging me to look at building up crews for the other factions. Phalanx
To be honest the game seems to be more along the lines that you play masters rather than factions. There are a lot of masters that are capable of taking units from other factions (Levi, Kirai, and Hoffman for example) so there's not a whole lot of reason to just confine yourself to a single faction. You want to play Levi? Why not also buy some Ressurectionist masters if you decide to play him with undead or Arcanist or Guild masters if you like to play him with constructs. Hamlin can take units such as Terror Tot Nephilim and Kade along with units from the other non-Outcast factions and if you have Hoffman then you might as well get Ramos too if you plan on using Arcanist constructs heavily in your crew. To me it seems like there's just so much inter-connectivity between the factions in the game due to certain masters that if you want to play those masters then you're handi-capping yourself unless you pretty much start a new faction (note: slight over exaggeration). I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it is something that needs to be considered. Personally it's one of the things I find interesting about this game. Jonas Albrecht
I'm Guild, but only due to the fact that The Ortegas are there. If they were Outcast, I would be too. Since they are, though, I feel a pull to expand to the other Masters as well. I also play Nicodem off and on. Mostly because I enjoy his playstyle, and he lets me collect a lot of undead models. tadaka
For me its every thing but guild I hate guild but am being forced because Hoffman is pure win. 0 guild 2 never 3 Arc 2 outcasts 2 res
Mr. Bigglesworth
I enjoy the painting aspect of the hobby so I plan on collecting everything at one point. As for the game portion I rotate between guild and neverborn. I love Zoradia and Pandora's fear factors, however there is nothing like the damage output of the guild models... hooray for critical strike. I own all but 4 blisters from the guild and plan on getting both Hoffman and Ramos as soon as Hoffman is out. As for the neverborn, I don't have lilth or dreamer, but have about 20 neverborn models. alienated one
Mine is as follows: 1 guild 0 never 2 Arc 3 outcasts 4 res
the imp
I've got Raspy and So'Mer. I'm frequently tempted to branch out into other Masters, but so far I have resisted. Collodi will probably suck me into the Neverborn and if the horrors are sufficiently cool, I'll be tempted to pick up Molly too. I'm still waiting on a Guild master that appeals to my aethetics. Doctor Amos
I get bored quickly. I play out a theme to its natural extention and then move on to another, more diverse build. I'd rather have (alters analogy for Malifaux) three 25 soulstone crews than one crew pool worth 75 stones (analogy works better for 40k). Xango
Like rathnard, i have 3 masters of diferent factions, but play big Z all the time, i want Ophelia, so if i get it i will be in 4 factions (i have Ramos and LJ)
osoi
I have Masters from 3 Factions so far with Ressers, Outcasts and the Guild. I find that there is a fair bit of overlap with a couple of the crews buts its much for variety as anything else but then again I also have Leveticus so grabbing models from left right and centre kind of makes sense, when Hoffman comes out I will have 2 Masters from each of the factions I have
