  1. So my advice is always, don't be afraid to shoot your own models with Lynch's gun to get the tomes trigger to place huggy. Why risk the miss? And depleted are perfect at taking a bullet for the team. ( Also applied to Gwen's draw out secrets trigger)
  2. Now I haven't personally used it but just some easily missed rules. With misaki she can only command it once an activation as she doesn't get past the once an activation on charge. Also for the wanyudo to push 5 I believe it needs to hit. If it missed I don't believe it can push as the push is in the same area as damage. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. All that said it's stat 6 and targets move and has the ability to create alot of move duels. So I do believe it's good. But it's also fragile against things that can target it at range, def 5 with 7 wounds and no damage reduction means any good shooter can lay some real hurt on it.
  3. I've found that lotus eaters are great against anyone that makes markers. (Parker, Titania,Mei Feng, etc) the other thing they bring is condition "immunity" for the cost of a chi. Great against condition based crews (Tara, kearis, daw) I usually use 1-2 archers as ranged threats usually not bringing samurai while there good I like that you can give archers fast and other effects since there monks. High river monks I find are good solid beaters. While there damage track seems low, the stat 8* with burning and flurry helps rack it up. They also have ruthless and a good zero action Push 3 and focused for 1 damage ( Which I believe with sensi Yu gives you a chi too)

  5. Well true but does it mean different scheme markers/corpses? What if I have three corpse next to each other that's three different scheme markers withen 1 of three different corpse markers. So couldn't it he done with 3?
  6. I guess my question is, if they are still both why would you need 6? Are then not withen 1 inch of themselves?

  8. I see you say the wretch is a tech piece for armor, ive found she's just amazing the opponent can't cheat in duels with her if they have blight. That makes her like the best source of bleeding disease. And stealth keeps her safe to do it. In my experience she's an auto include for her cost.
  9. What's everyone's experience with survivors? I personally find it hard to fit more then one in the crew usually and while there just as survivable as a rail worker they seem to draw more heat. Since the rest of the crew is melee it also struggles to deal with friendly fire. ( Other then focus of course)
  10. I use them for move tricks with wandering river, or healing with low river. They also can actually do a bit of damage with high river stance and ruthless to boot. Baiscly whatever is needed and depending on what stance shenlong is in.
  11. So the gamin vs shinobi I think comes down to what are you up against. The shinobi have stealth which is great up against a more ranged based crew. The gamin have armor which is usually useful against melee crews. The gamin are quite mobile but if they get shot off the board that's irrelevant. Both can disengage melee if they get tied up.
  12. As a bayou player, going arcanist with her gets you access to soulstone miners which are also used by mah. If your looking to avoid buying too many models only for her.
  13. To add some specifics of my uses I've had luck with him in foundry. Sparks anyalyze weakness gets rid of the armor issue. Then most high armor models don't have the def to compete with a stat 6 with a +. His + also makes him good against anything that relies on giving you a - for attacks as def. Hes defenitly not an auto include but he's still quite viable
  14. So he's kinda swingy to me. Since his masks are based on your opponents hand you want to use him early. He's also tankier earlier in the turn. A good opponent will take note of that. That aside, move 7 and flight is awesome and his damage track is fine. My only issue is for the same cost I'm usually taking the emissary over him and so far the emissary has done more work then him with my asami crew.
  15. The other thing to be aware of with obsidion Oni is dont take them into crews that like obey. You will find that flicker is easily used against you and possibly killing your oni in the process. One thing I've done a few times to help with the metal golems poor charge distance is use the upgrade Masked agent on Mei to use "with me" this also brings it with her for freight train, since a flat 4 damage is hard to ignore. I've also found that Sparks almost requires trained Ninja. His auras are so good and his healing is great that people rightfully target him. Since he's not a construct he's a little hard for her keyword to heal. A metal gamin with silent protector nearby also helps give him some survivability.
  16. No I agree I love her melee attack. But have you had any issues keeping her alive when trying to use jt? She's a master and a summoner which I find puts a massive target on her head. And while she has some def tech she's so important to the crew that I don't risk her often.
  17. So i have played quite a few games with Asami as of late and i'm wondering if anyone else gets the same lackluster feeling when they activate her. Now she is by no means bad and i like her crew overall but when i activate Asami i feel like it usually goes one way. i summon something, i mothers love it, i fling it forward with tendrils ( or i walk). now this does work, but it just feel so repetitive. I'm finding it hard to summon in ways that they don't come into play with 2 flicker tokens effectively making me use mothers love so that its not just a throw away summon. Since none of her oni drop markers on death and a lot of the time my main opponents don't either ( or there lower model count crews). She also has that great stat 6 melee attack with a great trigger that i barely ever get to use. I really want to but she just seems too fragile and important to get into melee. So my first question is has anyone had any luck playing her more forward? has Protected (oni) been enough to protect her? she has a lot of ways to self harm herself increasing the risk to me. She has a heal but ive never really gotten much use out of it. Second question is, how have you guys been finding is the best way to increase the longevity of her summons? Is it threw her trigger? Bringing Akamie to kick up corpse markers? Some other tactic im missing, or just doing what I've been doing with a mothers love and anchor oni?
  18. Right it can't, but if it was shooting a model with counter spell it be required to discard a card for a trigger it can't pay the cost for. That's why to me it seems odd that the cost of *pay one life* isn't part of declaring the the trigger. I agree with you that it rules as written it works that way it just seems like an odd intention. So I'm not sure it's intended that cost be separate of declaring a trigger. I add it here because you guys are talking about the intent of the rules, and if it's intended that cost is part of declaring then if you must declare then you would have to pay the cost. It also helps point that triggers+declaring+cost is not as clear as it should be. Actions have a much more defined flow chart. And something like this should probably be stayed in the faq.
  19. I also noticed that counter spell states it's cost as part of declaring the trigger as do most things. It seems odd that a model that must declare triggers would need to discard a card to declare a trigger it couldn't pay the cost for. Like a survivor and it's trigger to take 1 damage if it was at 1 health.
  20. I actually agree that the language makes it seem like paying the cost is optional since it's you must do x or y happens implies an option to me. That said I personally think the intent is for cost to be part of declaring triggers. So as to avoid things like Mei declaring blinded by iron to just push when she can't pay the cost. If the intent was that cost be part of declaring triggers people who must declare triggers must also pay the cost. It's why I figured they didn't break it apart into a declare triggers step and a pay cost step.
  21. Mei Feng has an ability that she pushes 2 inches of she declares a trigger. Has blinded by iron that cost a scrap marker. Can I declare blinded by iron with no scrap marker withen 2 inches to push 2 inches? I've been wondering this and this conversation see s relvent to my question
  22. So incase people wondered if there is a model this is relvent to I have one. Mei Feng in a sense. She has whenever she declares a trigger she can push two inches. The blinded by iron trigger has a cost of discard a scrap markers. Can I declare blinded by iron to push two inches but have it do nothing since I can't pay the cost the trigger does nothing happen as the rules state? If there is no scrap markers withen 2 inches.
  23. Beckoners had a slight change to there melee attack it went from "frantic flailing" with a built in masks to trigger light inside. To "decieving touch" no built in masks but gives a brilliance token and still has the trigger. While small it's technically a straight buff
  24. When it comes to the katanaka sniper I don't think I'd spend 2 stones to give it stealth. It already has from the shadows and can extend it's range to be quite a bit further then a samurai so it's A bit safer from counter attack.
  25. When it comes to schemes that require markers don't forget Gwen's ability to shoot models and drop markers. While shooting enemy models has a chance to fail shooting your own is all but a sure thing with her rig the deck. Depleted have hard to kill, huggy and kitty have incorpral so Gwen's min damage goes to 1 on them. Makes detonate the charges really easy. Kittys attack while not as high damaging is fairly unique in the crew as it targets WP and the ability to treat negatives a positive also can make difference. But reaching tendrils is definitely where it's at. She also makes detonate a sure thing with a walk interact + bonus action. While I agree with the above about graves. One key ability he has is ruthless which can make a big difference vs crews like the dreamer.
