elysium64
I have been unable to post pictures earlier as this model was entered in a competition over on the Lead Adventure Forum, the brief was to scratch build a piece of scenery using a CD as a base, kit parts could only be used as final dressing. I am very proud to say I won the competition. A WIP to give impression of scale Hope you like.
Ratty
That is really really cool. I would probably not have used straws after bad experiences with them chipping in the past. But the whole thing together looks amazing.

Monad
Wow! Very impressive! Did you have much trouble painting the straws? I've tried painting straws for use as scenery in the past and they have been a royal pain in the @$$ to get paint, even primer, to stick on. How was your experience? Shadeau Gorgon
Loving this. Nice paintjob, and the construction in it is great. Now you just need a whole theatre for it to sit in...

adamr
very nice! is it a (1) interact to bust out some tunes in your game?
elysium64
Having used straws this time, would not do so again as they are prone to chipping, but at the time I did not know better and they seemed to provide the easiest option. Sturm88
That is VERY cool. I would use brass tubing or plasticard tubing in the future. Both can be found at any Hobby Town USA pretty cheap.

If this continues to be an issue, try mixing latex (or PVA) into your paints, this will allow them to bend at the same time as the straws and make them less likely to chip. though you may need to give them as dusting of silica to stop them being sticky.
