  1. No Emissary is too bad, but summon Dora may serve you well nonetheless. You could try The Tooth/Thorn with Rougs or Baby Kade (or even both) as Lures and Marker Drops align well for most schemes, plus both of them are cheap enough to make Vendetta possible. Autumn also brings a few more WP duels.
  2. I think what Ulix really needs is better overall WP. Pigs have WP 3 and 4 respectively, and that makes them curl up and fold to any mental assault. If Pigs within 8" got stubborn through fierce loyalty, a lot of his issues would dissipate. However, Ulix is in a fine place and honestly doesn't need much in the way of buffs. Any errata to make him more interesting risks making him overbearing and may turn his elegant kit inside out.
  3. Hey @Clousseau, would it be possible to get on the reserve list already? I know there's still tickets available, and I'm very keen on attending, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it yet (will likely know by early October at the latest). As such, if there is a list for people to buy in should one of the 150 attendees not be able to make it, I'd like to be added to it. Thank you in advance, Leopold Slany.
  4. What about Wong? Swine Cursed offer sturdy/mobile beaters and he can blast stuff from afar.
  5. I still don't see them finding a place in our crews, especially with the Mechanical Porkchop getting a price decrease. My opinion is that Ulix is an interact master first and foremost, with solid attack options but really his purpose is messing up the opponent's marker game.
  6. Followup question: Does Dismounted McCabe still count for Undercover Entourage?
  7. Yu becomes worth it when scheme markers are in the equation. Being able to move both yours and your opponent's markers is invaluable, especially now that so many of them want to be at very specific positions. If you can make an enemy marker useless, you don't just take away a spent AP but also make it more difficult for them to place a marker where they want them. That being said, Yu is harder to justify in McCabe. He doesn't synergize all that well and the Conflux is really good.
  8. Jo, bin der Leopold aus der Whatsappgruppe! Leider grad im Grenzeinsatz (deppertes Bundesheer grml Volksabstimmung) Würdest du am 30.April so um 15h eine Runde spielen wollen?
  9. http://www.bad-things-happen.co.uk/online-resources/#Gaining-Grounds And there you go! EDIT: You're a Sirengames frequentor?
  10. I think Mei and Lynch set players up well (Lynch being a bit less complicated than Mei). Yanny, Shen, Brewie and McCabe are weak because their box models are no good (and they're not simple to play either). Misaki should do fine honestly, and Asami could probably do surprisingly well even with just the Yokai (although nonetheless not the best starter just by virtue of being a summoner).
  11. Very sweet writeup. What do you think about putting in a Rail Worker as a discount Sabre/Reactivate beater? Given their 0 to gain + to attack and damage I think they could be very interesting for McCabe.
  12. Not to derail this thread, but Samurai upgrades have been a matter that I wanted to discuss for a while now. I think Jigoku is absolutely fine (and even has some interesting interactions such as ignoring hazardous and Fears Given Form) but Earth is slightly underwhelming and Heavens....well Heavens needs a lot of help. For the longest time I'd have argued that Earth could be worth 4 wd instead of 3. This would make for a tougher choice between the two, but if you're planning on gunning all game long Jigoku remains the superior choice. Now, another big weakness of Samurai is their low WP, so perhaps +1WP might be a prudent choice for the Earth role over adding more wounds to an already rather durable model, further increasing the staying power and sturdyness of the Earth Samurai. As for Heavens, you could of course just increase the stats to make it competitive, but I think it would be nice to see a buff to using the melee (or perhaps even the run through action, giving + to the attack and damage flip would go a long way).
  13. I do love Samurai for what it's worth (though I've never taken Earth over Hell), but if you're pushing him you gotta remember that that's further investment. I think the Eaters definitely have a spot with Misaki, as they're cheaper than the Crime Bosses and provide the same kind of aura.
  14. On the topic of AS Misaki, what mandates that she's your only hitting model? In TT we have the luxury of many quick models and as such I believe using her as a lone missile is, if nothing else, wasteful. They may be able to handle Misaki by her lonesome, but her, Yasunori and perhaps even another mid-sized beater striking at once?I have severe doubts. As for the Wokou/Crime Boss synergy, I believe (though this is purely theoretical) that Sensei Yu adds a ton as you can place the markers over and over with Mighty Gust to draw 6 cards per activation. The ShEmSem is also very good without a doubt, but Yu is what makes that interaction into an obscene exploitation of the ruleset.
  15. Eyo Dray, I should've proofread the text when I had the chance. Only found one apparent misspelling, it's Shore up Weaknesses, not Sure up. 😁 I think OxBlox may actually be in a similar spot to Katanaka Snipers, which outshine the rest of the factions ranged models to the extent where one of them recently got a points reduction (and you're still more likely to take a Sniper). They're in that boat where you could remove one of their excellent rules and they'd still be a great pick. I'd think what could be interesting would be lowering their range to 10" to make their immobility a bit more of an issue.
  16. I think it's more likely they will than won't, I made my original post because I believed Jesy Blue to have mistakenly posted it here instead of in announcements. Apologies for derailing the conversation, I would expect them to do Gamin things with poison, but in a different way from Poison Gamin.
  17. I think you're in the wrong place friend. We don't serve Whiskey in this establishment, though we do have some fine sake.
  18. I love my Ten Thunders Brothers. Misaki specifically will enjoy Wokou Raiders, but in TT fashion the rest of the faction cannot hire them, and as such, it depends on if you want a good general model or something that's specific to Misaki.
  19. What do you think of this kinda list? 50 SS Ten Thunders Crew Asami Tanaka + 7 Pool - A Heavenly Design (2) - Bad Hair Day (1) - Grasping Strands (1) Kamaitachi (4) Sensei Yu (9) - Wandering River Style (2) Katanaka Crime Boss (8) - Hidden Agenda (0) Mr. Tannen (6) - Smoke Grenades (1) Terracotta Warrior (6) Obsidian Oni (6) With all the card draw Asami will be able to summon a ton of Oni, and she can consume the markers to heal back up. I think she may just become our premiére pick in Marker heavy pools. EDIT: Since Terracotta Warriors cannot swap 0-cost upgrades, one is likely better served using Servant or RT (or even Equality) to begin with.
  20. Does anyone know when the W5 stat cards will arrive on Wargames Vault?
  21. They might need the Low River Treatment.
  22. I was thinking about that too. The fact that it's baked in makes it pretty easy to accomplish. Imagine your opponent trying to get rid of their own markers, hahahaha!
  23. Dear fellow Thunders, I recently mulled over lists and fell upon an interaction that may have been obvious to some, and yet may prove to be used to tremendous effect. The interaction I'm speaking of is between Protection Money (currently found of Lotus Eaters and Crime Bosses, both of them good models in their own right) and Mighty Gust (an all time favourite). Using the latter's ability to pick up and place enemy scheme markers, we can place up to three scheme markers within 3 of the pushed model. Protection Money triggers on every place. The result is a maximum of 6 cards drawn on a regular activation, but this can theoretically be increased to 15 or even higher in a Shenlong crew. Of course this is the optimum count, and relies on the opponent placing ample markers, but we are likely to be using Mighty Gust anyways. The models included are good on their own. I think the greatest winners of this interaction are Shenlong and Lynch, the prior bring able to abuse this even further, and the latter getting go mulligan a total of 6 cards using Yu's 0 copy. Further ideas include Servant of 5 Dragons on the Crime Bosses to promptly remove all the markers placed. What do you think?
