  1. Get Archie and you can accomplish about anything with the models you have. I do like the night terrors quite a bit. They're different than the Crooligans but perform a similar role. In scheme heavy pools I regularly take both (I took two of each in one game yesterday). The Marshall can be good too for his summoning. I have been using him and he has been effective. I would definitely add Archie since his mobility and hitting power are fantastic.
  2. I played in a 16 person tournament yesterday and I think there was only one Guild player. He finished 4th (2 wins 1 loss). He ran Perdita all three rounds and I know he beat a Lynch crew one of those and had his loss to a Raputina crew. I'm not sure about the other win.
  3. There are some masters with new art. Misaki, Yan Lo, Nekima, McMourning, Rasputina, Hoffman, Marcus, Colette, Somer, Wong, Lynch, Viks, Von Schill, Dreamer, and Lady J. I would guess all of those will get new scuplts and (likely) new crew scuplts. We know that's true for some we've already seen like Misaki, Raputina, Viks, Dreamer, Lady J, Marcus, and Colette. In the Viks case their keyword was pretty much completely redone. We'll see about the others.
  4. Resurrectionist: Molly can remove pillars. Keep an eye out for her too!
  5. The zombies are insignificant, so won't impact the strategy. You can kill them all day long. As far as poison you can put out a great deal: +2 for showing up +1 from the Chihuahua +2 - 8 from Rafkin (if he gets the trigger and if the model fails the test) +2 - 4 from Sebastian +2 from the Nurse +2 per little gasser You can also move some poison around with transfusion from Rafkin. So it isn't too hard to get double digit poison on a couple of models. Normally I am going to start with the Chihuahua and Rafkin as my first two activations to boost up my crew. Most models will have about 7 poison and I will have moved some from one model to McMourning (usually from his totem) so he'll have 12 or so. It depends on what I need to do at that point if I look for more. If I have time I may have Sebastian throw some flasks, but that isn't common. I usually don't have the Nurse giving out poison either. Usually she is giving McMourning focused. If I am in Reckoning (and usually am with this crew) I will try and hold back round 1. Otherwise both Sebastian and McMourning are taking a Kentauroi ride and getting down to business.
  6. I agree with Cake's comments above. The Kentauroi are great additions to a McMourning crew because of their ability to cart him around. I've also been hiring a Flesh Construct since they are such efficient models for 7 stones. With your list you can certainly summon one quickly, which can be good, but I find the crew to have enough round 1 setup with poison distribution that I really don't want to be performing more foundation work at the front end. That doesn't mean it isn't a good tactic! I haven't been using gassers but it's primarily because I don't own them. I don't think I'll but them, but who knows. They probably won't be great for reckoning as Cake pointed out (although zombies won't impact that strategy). Overall though it looks pretty solid.
  7. It seems like most of the interaction regarding Malifaux has moved over there, which is too bad for those, like me, that don't have any desire to be involved in a Facebook group.
  8. Well, you can buy the Ressers card set, which you will probably want to have anyway for the upgrades.
  9. Yeah, I can't think of a future use for them but I am struggling to actually throw them away as well. I have a feeling that will haunt me the next time I move, but until then they will likely sit in a box and wait for that day. Hopefully I can just go through with dropping them in the trash.
  10. I played a minor variation of that list into reckoning vs. Perdita. I dropped Sebastian for another flesh construct, so it looked like this: McMourning, Rafkin, Chihuahua, Nurse, 2 Flesh Constructs, and 2 Kentauroi Against Perdita it was a bit of a slaughterhouse all around. The list worked well though with most of the crew sticking around longer than my opponent would like with HTW and poison. The downside to the two Flesh Constructs is that they cannot be carted around by the Kentauroi. I would have liked Sebastian for that purpose, but getting rid of a glass cannon henchman in reckoning is the right thing to do I think. I was able to win 7-4 and one of the reasons I was able to score 3 strategy points is that I killed Santiago in round 2, Francisco in round 3, and Perdita in round 4. One of the Kentauroi worked well in Vendetta vs. Francisco. They have such incredible movement with MV7, unimpeded, and ride with me that they can almost always get to their target and do damage. Once that is done they can make a run for it and hide out for the rest of the game to capture that second point (assuming you kill your target with someone else later). Of course you have to have a 9+ point model as a target. Of some interest (at least to me) was that I wound up summoning 2 flesh constructs in the game, which I didn't expect to do in reckoning. It didn't give him a point by allowing him to kill an extra model in either case but rather denied him points. I summoned them only as a defensive measure on McMourning's last action of his activation. He would summon the Flesh Construct in front of him and prevent most of the shooting. He had 8 models of which 7 could shoot, so that denied him a strategy point and both assassinate points. I'm enjoying the Doctor and really like his new art!
  11. This interpretation sure makes sense for this particular model and case.
  12. You can be attacked through them, although you have concealment.
  13. Does anyone have results or feedback from Gencon? What was played, what keywords performed well, and what faction came out on top? How was the buzz around Malifaux this year? Based on what I am seeing on the forums things are still a bit quiet, but what did you guys see there?
  14. There are certain masters you could absolutely solo in M3e. They may not always be the best for any given strategy or pool, but should be reasonably competent across the board. They have to be a master that isn't easily hard-countered in a keyword that has some mobility and killing power. Some of the masters that may be more generalist and fit that category include Titania, Leveticus, Molly, Mei Fang, Shenlong, Sandeep, Lucius, and Marcus come to mind. There are probably many more out there that could do a pretty good job. It may actually be easier to come up with a list that absolutely cannot solo. Those may be more because of hard-counters (like Colette into 10T) rather than lack of any particular ability. I probably wouldn't take the Viks into Plant Explosives though if I had another option.
  15. I can't wait for mine to arrive! Thank you for posting those.
  16. Thanks for these. I enjoyed watching the two English versions - please keep it up!.
  17. Manos is a lantern bearer, so perhaps just having him with his lantern on a base that looks like the prow of a ship would work. Or, since he also has a spear and extended reach he could have a harpoon (maybe steal one from a December Acolyte). Perhaps both. He could be like Queequeg. Since he's 30mm I don't think you could use a lighthouse on the base as his lantern, but you may be able to think of a way. So, undead harpooner with a lantern.
  18. For the rogue necromancy you could maybe stitch some different beasts together rather than the norm. Perhaps parts from alt huggy with the big tentacles would work for that. The Frenzy models from TOS could work too. They look like sharks and could be the base of the RN or could be a stand in on their own. I'm wondering too about basing. I'm not going to go so far as to rebase the rest of my forgotten crew, which is using a graveyard theme. I can't decide if I'll carry that through or or with planking or perhaps a dockside look with these: http://www.tinyworlds.co.uk/bases/resin-bases/round-lipped-ds-bases/30mm-round-lipped-bayou-boardwalk-resin-bases
  19. I think he's a pretty darn good combat master. His stat 7 is great. The damage track isn't much, but the discard or injured can really make it a snowball assault. His immediate action will be set up with at least 3 poison if he hits his stat 7 melee attacks. he can easily do around 10 damage to a model each turn and get around (almost) everything. In my last game he took out a 9 point samurai one round and a henchman (Hinamatsu) the following round. He has the ability to teleport to his preferred target with Rancid Transplant and can heal like crazy! He'll regenerate with his poison on top of that. Having Kentauroi to cart him around so he is where he needs to be is pretty fantastic too. McMourning is just about as beastly as any other combat master in the game.
  20. Finally got around to trying this list tonight (been focusing on Molly for the most part) and it was great. I played against a Youko crew in wedge deployment. One of Kentauroi was able to give McMourning a ride on round one. McMourning was able to walk charge a samurai with the ninja upgrade and take him out round one. He dispatched Hinamatsu in the second round and that pretty much sealed the game since most of his firepower was eliminated. I really like the composition of this group - thanks for the suggestion!

  22. Come now, give them a bit of credit! Big Jake is an almost pure schemer and the Student is a support model. Vanessa is kind of right in between. That isn't a bad percentage of models for a combat based crew!
  23. That's a good way to address it. You're absolutely right, terrifying isn't what it was in 2e (I didn't play in 1e) but I find any situation where I have to make two flips to succeed (one for terrifying and one for the attack) to be resource intensive. I've played against Dreamer a lot in this edition and, even with focus, it seems to require a couple of cards each round. Maybe it's just me, but I also seem to find the black joker on these checks more often than statistics would suggest it be possible! At least it doesn't paralyze me any more.
  24. Yes, you have to pass the check for each attack you make in M3e. That's what makes terrifying to terrifying! It can be a massive drain on your hand against some crews.
  25. Not at all. A Dreamer list can be competitive with only the Lucid Dreams foundation. It will, almost regardless of makeup, bring enough damage output, movement, terrifying, summoning, and other good qualities to be effective. The Dreamer can field a very solid crew without worrying about obey or lure.
