  1. The King's Empire isn't all that fond of the Guild; they were one of the first nations to effectively buck Guild control, and that triggered a chain reaction that really undermined the Guild's influence back on Earth. Temporary breaches are certainly possible, but they tend to be rare, short-lived, and hard to predict. If there are smugglers taking advantage of them, I'd give them someone with a limited ability to detect Breaches or see the future, and make having to chase down the breaches to who-knows-where before they close an important part of how they operate. There are really only two stable, predictable portals in Malifaux, and the Guild and Ten Thunders are guarding them heavily for that reason.
  2. Collaborators, in particular, are very good at adding suits to the skills of their allies. Beyond that, there's the Specialized Skill Talent, which adds a suit to a chosen skill.
  3. I really enjoy Hamelin with a Desolation Engine. Nom nom rats.
  4. His Vignette in Ripples of Fate. Lady Justice isn't quoting exact numbers there, mind you, but Nicodem did take down a whole lot of lesser Resurrectionists in order to subsume their undead into his own horde.
  5. The story was finished and done with final edits long before this threat started. I should know, because I wrote it. ^__^ I also picked Emeline Bellerose as the narrator of the TTB bestiary chapters and wrote those sections in Into the Steam, Under Quarantine, and Into the Bayou, so it's not like it's an abrupt change to my writing style. Oh, and just for the record, The Other Side core book and Broken Promises stories were also finished long before this thread started.
  6. Governor-General Herbert Kitchener.
  7. As Nathan said earlier, sensitive issues such as this tend to be a hot-button topic, so we try to approach them with a light touch. We have a variety of sexual orientations present in Malifaux, but most of the time, it just isn't all that relevant to cutting up zombies or stopping an Arcanist from throwing fireballs at people. At the end of the day, it's a complicated discussion that everyone in the world is still trying to work through. We're doing our best to make our games as inclusive as possible while keeping things from turning into a political soapbox. Hopefully, we'll do a good job of walking that narrow line in the future. No matter which side of the discussion you find yourself, however, please remember to be civil to your fellow forum-goers. We're all here because we love Malifaux, after all.
  8. Why Lilith looks like she does is explained in the Core Rules, actually. It's definitely not her natural form.
  9. Hanging out with Pandora probably isn't good for anyone's mental health.
  10. He's always been the master of his piglet.
  11. It should be updated now. Let us know if there are any further problems.
  12. That's strange. We'll look into it.
  13. Most Gremlins have an acute sense of where they stand in the pecking order of things and generally try to avoid danger. They're not necessarily good at avoiding danger, but they try. It's usually when alcohol gets involved that the real stupid comes out. Gremlins have litters of around twenty at a time, and of those, only a handful survive to reach adulthood. Most of the really stupid or foolhardy ones meet an untimely end early on, baring luck or the assistance of a (generally apathetic) adult. As a result, most Gremlins would probably realize just what the bounty is about (if only because they hear the adults complaining about it) or at the very least realize that the Guild tends to shoot them dead when they can. That being said, drunk people (and Gremlins) do stupid things, and a Gremlin might not get the whole story and think that something else is going on.
  14. Under Quarantine. Lampads are basically flame ghosts that animate corpses to carry them around via lighting them on fire.
  15. *points at the Core Rules* Should be helpful in clearing things up.
  16. Which is a good place to start. I'd probably give them more Might and Wounds and probably increase their Height to 3 (those things are pretty big).
  17. Three people should be fine. It's a shorter adventure, but the Rat Kings at the end should present a decent enough challenge to the group, especially if people are still learning the system. I'd recommend fluffing it up a bit with some increased social interaction with the guards. If you have plans for future games, placing a grimoire or other curiosity in the rat warren might be a good way to segue into the next adventure.
  18. One of them already showed up in the Ferryman One-Shot awhile back.
  19. The future is unwritten. If it does, it won't be for a good while.
  20. There's a whole lot of fluff summed up and presented in a nice timeline in the TTB Core Rules, which is out next month. This includes a bunch of never-before-seen fluff such as what happened when the Breach closed (and why it was closed), Tyrants on Earth, how the Union and Ten Thunders came to power, and so on.
  21. There's ocean to the east of the Bayou. The Guild explored out that far, went "Huh, that's an ocean," and then more or less stoppedbecause they didn't care enough to continue.
  22. And above San Francisco weeks before then. See also: A Fire in the Sky
