  1. man, these are awesome!!! keep them coming!
  2. Hey everyone! Due to the awesome worldwide event, I have opted to extend the sign ups for our league until Wednesday August 26th. Remember, all our games (aside from the first one) will fall in the time period of the event, so come support your faction!!!!!!!
  3. I wasn't so much thinking about building around Barbaros, but more that when I have used him (right at the end of the wave 1 beta I think) he didn't much care what the crew was doing, just did his own thing. I remember liking him a lot. Candy seems like the ideal choice though. I'm a little shocked about Huggy leading crews. Good to know. I totally get why Chompy can't lead crews... but I wish he could.
  4. So, I'm running Neverborn in a league I've got coming up. Fixed faction and whatnot. This will be my first return to neverborn almost since 2.0 launched as i've been pretty stuck in 10T land lol. The first game is going to be a henchman game. So I've been looking around at Neverborn henchman and I think I may be missing something, but are any of the henchman particularly good at leading crews? I feel like Barbaros or Candy probably have the best 'generalist' attitude and the others are more crew/strat dependent. Looks like most are pretty one dimensional (Widow Weaver, Nekima) and work better with a master than they do leading a crew (Huggy, Vasilisa). Am I crazy? Which Henchman do you tend to reach for when leading? I know a good player picks leaders after they know the strats and schemes, and I plan on waiting, but for the league I am trying to focus on Dreamer, Collodi, and Swampy-Lillith since that's what I have the most access to at the moment. Any input? I'm sure I'm missing something about these henchman.
  5. lol, this is amazing. Super stoked about it!!!!
  6. Granted I just recently started playing him, but I think Dreamer would almost always be in-theme with his crew choices. Most of the tacticas and such that I have read on him seem to focus almost exclusively on Nightmares.
  7. that's a good idea! you could do a whole series on that stuff and keep them short. put them in a playlist so folks can look for just the type of dual they need. hmm.... I really like this
  8. I have a quick question for all you Dreamer players out there. Looks like it might be coming up later in the guide, but i'll go ahead and ask anyway since I'm just getting into dreamer... does he like to activate early in the turn, or later? Does this change depending on the two main upgrades? I can see LCB focused dreamer going early in the turn, but what about summoning dreamer? Or do you go early(ish) depending on when you want to time empty night on a specific model? =]
  9. the monk of the low river is a pretty good scheme runner, and brings the ever so important (and yet situational) condition removal and they are only 4ss. Dawn Serpent is amazing and I adore it. though the healy trick works better the more models you have with CA actions so Misaki's standard crew doesn't really have much there. Doesn't make Dawn a bad piece however. I do really like it! Yin is nearly always in my 10T crews. Not ALL of them, but I try to take her more often than not. I'll echo the 10T archers, that shooting into melee and the ability to ignore LoS with the other attack. (plus blot the sky if someone can carry it for them) I like the sniper.. but with my play-style I favor the archer's ability to shoot into melee over the sniper's increased damage output. Of course, there is no wrong answer between the two. Samurai I can't help but love. Though a box of 3 is more than I'd ever need. One is good to have around for some things. The free upgrade they can take makes them quite versatile. The lone swordsman is amazing (especially with recalled training). So good, in fact, that he has a giant target on his back until your opponent takes him down. lol. but just. keep him safe(ish) until you know exactly where he needs to be to kill something and turn him loose and sit back in awe. and I know you mentioned not picking things in other master box sets... but the High River Monks have almost replaced my Torkage unless I'm going to use Smoke and Shadow shenanigans. other than that... I'm grabbing High River Monks.
  10. Oh yeah, I completely agree. I think it would be really awesome. If you go to wyrd's main site, under the media link they have a section titled "Videos" and it just says they are working on some videos. might be exactly what you're looking for, so keep an eye out!
  11. shenlong is in order 3700 and I just received my shipping info this morning. Wow they are moving pretty fast! XD
  12. oh wow! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! seriously... I wish I hadn't painted mine yet so I could steal this....
  13. damn... guesss I'm going to need to pick this up... oh shoot........ nice writeup though. thank you for doing this!
  14. I'll echo outflank, spring the trap, and take prisoner as I have a hard time with all three. if distract is in the pool, I'm taking it, and likely scoring all three points from it. I love it, it can be really easy if you time it right, or easy but resource intensive if you just spam it and hope for the best. Also, I think you guys make a good point about bodyguard scoring a little late in the game for most people. It seems that any time we are running short on time and have to call the game, the person who ends up losing took bodyguard and we are all left wondering if they would have still lost had we played to turn 5. I like the idea of scoring it starting on turn 3 that someone mentioned. you could theoretically keep it to where you only score 2 points even if you announce it on turn 3, and score that last point for announcing it.
  15. lol, I wont to outcasts either! I've been toying with the idea of getting into neverborn again ever since 2.0 launched... I'm finally going for it and here Aaron goes showing me awesome resser bits... clouding my judgement. I'm weak! (and we have plenty of outcast and resser players in my local group. no neverborn though. I MUST BE A SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE! )
  16. Hmmm, it would be interesting to see. However, the way I do demos it would be a pretty long video. When I do a demo my goal is to get the new players playing the game and having fun as fast as possible, which means giving a quick blurb about all the stats and basic moving and AP stuff, then explain the rest as we go, tuning the demo crews to give us as many different types of interactions as possible. ML, CA, SH, Interacts, etc. so, you'd pretty much be watching a regular game with lots of questions. Works though, and it gets folks laughing and having fun with it. There might be too many master/minion/rule interactions/combinations to cover in a video. it might feel more like watching an FAQ than a demo. a lot of "Okay, if this happens, then...." or "When doing a ML attack... blah blah blah." I think, for me, a video would be pretty tough to make work. but I would love to see someone else attempt this!
  17. I think she looks great! I'm betting she looks fantastic on the table. I know first hand how cameras can highlight the problem spots and alter colors and things, but I really like the look of this. I think you did a fine job.
  18. You can not get me to play ressers! YOU CAN'T! I WONT DO IT! NONONONONONONONO!!! really like this guy. Might be one of the best of the plastic zombie types you've done yet. but seriously... I'm not playing ressers, so STOP!
  19. Don't forget, if you want to join the league, PM me with your email and your faction of choice. Signups are going to be extended a little bit, but hurry!
  20. idk... I have a mean head-butt with this bad boy on! I'm like the jackalope!
  21. no worries. just thought I was going crazy and wondered if I imagined that PM I am missing. Thanks!
  22. I haven't been able to get to it since Wednesday afternoon. But it looks like they were rolled back to the 10th. I see no new posts (aside from yours and one on the bushwackers) since Monday EDIT: also... hi guys... I don't normally wander on your turf... please don't shoot! I'm moderately harmless!!!
  23. So, i know the forum was down yesterday (and I think maybe Wednesday afternoon as well but now that it's back up, I am missing a message from my inbox and noticed that there are 4 days worth of posts missing. Did the forums get rolled back to Aug. 10th or something?
  24. i think, if I could do it all over again, I would have rolled with neverborn especially in 2.0. at this point I am way too heavily invested in ten thunders to try branching out into another faction. but if one of you steal all my stuff, yeah, i'd be picking up lillith and zoriada and some waldgeists.
  25. Yeah, when I'm playing brewmaster, fingers does most of the work. High River monks with that 2 inch push have earned their share of VP for me lately as well! on top of that, low river monks and 10T brothers have all been used with great results. I tried the Brother/Tengu team a time or two. that works great, but does take a bit of an investment when building your crew. 4 models devoted just to schemes is a bit much for some setups and I have had just a good of results with one pairing and torkage or high river monks doing what they can in the mean time. That being said, I tend to shy away from having too many schemes and strats tied up in markers. so fast things to do stuff like distract and deliver message (high river monks and smoke and shadow torkage!) or extra killy things like lone swordsman and izamu for assassinate or vendetta. even Samurai with the fast upgrade has ended up a pretty reliable scheme runner (as long as no one on the other side of the table has obey...)
