  1. I wonder if Arthur Van Stoker will make an appearance? The legends of the Four Dragons would make a super cool model... although potentially insane to put together!
  2. This might be blasphemy, but you could almost drop Hina (gasp!) into Parker, since he's always going to be bringing Mad Dog, who ignores armour. The Dawn Serpent would probably serve you much better between Flight, Mv7 HtK and bonus heal. Otherwise run her down a flank. I really like Fufu as he supplies a great gun and now you don't even care if you hit or not with the card draw. Either him or the Lone Swordsman would be a better take than the Kabuki. Not a big fan of the Kunoichi myself (shame, as they're lovely models!) maybe the Effissary, Shojo or a Geisha would serve you better?
  3. Nellie really suffers from having the most punchable face in all of Malifaux with a lore that makes want to trade punching her for beating her with a baseball bat! That said, her card does look really interesting. You may need to take a versatile/OOK model though if you actually want to put some enemies in the ground. Maybe the Judge to try and get some extra SS? The Rider is always a good choice. What do people think about the other Journalists? @admiralvorkraft, I'd be curious for a keyword breakdown or how you play her.
  4. 100% AGREE! These are super cool-lookng models and would look sick in Fae or Urami (although Urami really don't need any more goodness!)
  5. I didn't think the waifs were dead. I thought Levi just snuffed their souls out, leaving them empty husks for him to put his soul-tether into. Could be wrong though. Their card does say undead...
  6. Very cool! What did you use for the head and feet? That's a mad paint job, love the OSL from the base. Did you sculpt it?
  7. Has anyone else been having issues with creating a Youko, Unseen crew and then having it disappear a few days later?
  8. Can we submit receipts for pre-orders for upcoming releases (e.g. Neverborn starter, upcoming title boxes)?
  9. Deffo Arcanist starter with t Fish being the leader-henchman. Then promoted to master in M4E. All hail Sir Troutimus!
  10. I agree with this. I'd say the bigger aspect of Despair's Influence is the 3" move, although I'm also the type of player who rarely purposefully goes crit strike. It's more of if it comes up, it comes up or if I have the suit, and I need to cheat anyway kind of thing. That said, if that extra pip will kill something that needs dead-ifying, then I'll absolutely go for it, but it's not my go to aim in life. Same as I still generally go soulstone lite (5-6 is my max, and my cache is often ~3). If I were to do Despair's Influenece it would be more likely to be an execute spam kind of thing. Although if you are going to set up the Fast Carver, then yeah, that triple swing with min 4 is tasty... Although, then it's like I could do similar things with a Fast Teddy, Rider, Kade, etc.
  11. If he were 9ss with no other changes, how would he compare to Hina then? I agree with everyone else, in that I don't think he's bad, just a smidge over-costed. Other easy buffs would be to change his shears to Heavy shears 3/3/5dg and 2" reach (with no built in ram, so he could still be min 3 + either double crit, onslaught or execute).
  12. If you're really worried about that, just don't hire her and then summon her turn 1 or as needed. You don't "have" to bring the totem.
  13. Basically he was a Death Marshal recruit who got too curious about the art of death and started asking questions... the wrong questions... the kind of questions where you wind up in an alley full of holes! However, he didn't stay dead, maybe it was the dark magic, maybe luck. But whatever it was stripped him of his name memory and personality. Everything except the need to know more... That's pretty much it. It really isn't much to go on. He is the "Forgotten" Marshal for a reason! Hope that helped
  14. I love me some horsey Reva! I have very similar feelings as Maniacal (I gave him the idea of Bete). I don't go quite as far into the teleporting to corpses shenanigans as he does, I usually skip on the Golem and Bone Pile (although I do take them as a flex picks) and have a more flexible crew build My core is usually Reva + 2 candles Bete Lampad (usually with GST) Resless Spirit Dead Rider (such a great model and asks so little!) - about 90% of my Reva crews comes to 34ss This gives me some nice corpses, lots of speed (I like fast crews!) and plenty of hitting power. Something about Bete (that should be a movie) is that she can Rise again even if on the field, so she's essentially a 3AP model in this crew. This makes her super speedy and can easily get around the board. I usually go for card efficiency. Between Reva generally have + flips for everything & Bete having stat 6+ knives, it makes my hand go a lot further. Need to be careful about bring too many discard mechanics (Lampad's demise, Vincent's rapid fire, Take the Hit, Draugr's Juggernaut etc) For my last 16ss, I usually like Either 1 Shieldbearer (for movement tricks with Shield Bash or take the hit tank) or Toshiro (to summon an Ashigaru first turn and then Foul mouth or summon if I have the card). I really like Toshiro as the + flips increases my top-decking even more. Anna if I want ranged attacks, corpse bombs and Gravity Well. She also provides a bit of card draw (which nothing in keyword has) Vincent - great against summoners. Anna is probably objectively better with Reva 1 though. Vincent starts to shine with Reva 2 Nurse or Bone Pile if I'm not bringing Toshiro Corpse Golem if I need another big beefy tank to slap in the middle Draugrs are a bit of an interesting one. Some people love them, some hate them. I lean a little to the latter as they can die very easily. However, with Toshiro, they do become much better. (always + to hit and Ashigaru to take the hit). I'd usually put GST on him if I do bring him. Emissary if I want to block off parts of the board with Coffins I've also gone some extreme tech picks like Student of Steel if facing Hoffman or Effigy if I need a budget healer Haven't tried Deacon with Reva 1. Does anyone have thoughts? I didn't mind him with Luminary though.
  15. 10" ranged Staggered can be absolutely brutal, especially combined with a push. That could be psuedo paralysed if you get a Mv4 beater 5-6" inches away from your models (imagine doing that to say a Peacekeeper or Izamu!). Then it has built-in drop-it for Perdition/Life of Crime/other tricks (this is especially relevant if you hit them with Stare-down, so it's after resolving) and Execute is always great for resource drain or late game kills.
  16. I reckon Freikorps can pretty well do anything. It really depends on your playstyle and how adverse you are on going OOK. Any of the Freikorps can get symbols through Rocket boots. Von Schill can do it as Axelist said. Freikorpsmann are also ok thanks to Equipment training letting them keep their Rocket Boots on (ideally with the Emissary to give them Regen, so they can stay topped up (or even give them Assault Shield as well). Midnight Stalker is always an option too. Schemes really depend on your opponent. I don't mind Hidden Martyrs as there's lots of great choices to total up to 13ss between Engineers, Librarians, Drachen Troopers, Metallurgist, Freikorpsmann, Trappers. And really, if your opponent doesn't go after your support healers (or scheme runners), then Hannah/Arik can just do so much work. It is also a dangerous scheme for you as Freikorps are so killy. Otherwise, I agree with Axelist that Assassinate & Let Them Bleed are your best bet Bait & Switch is dangerous in Flank. Freikorps aren't great at scheming for Detonate so needing 4 scheme markers isn't a great bet. Emissary will help, but I'd say is still a tough ask.
  17. Have you tried them in OG "secretary" Lucius? I can easily see their use with Dishonourable as he has the speed to get them places, but it becomes much harder with the Secretary version. What are you using for their Sidekick nodes?
  18. Probably not worth it, but in Savage, the puke worm can make the Bultungin Incorporeal to ignore hazardous if needed.
  19. Agreed. Everything is contextual in Malifaux. It could be worth cheating a Red Joker to land a Mindless Zombie attack if it will score a point/win the game! (an extreme example perhaps, but it proves my point!)
  20. Yes, but what changes they were! Quellers are super good, giving out Adversary to help all the shooters get around concealment/friendly fire or just help out with hand management is always tasty. The 4" push also can get your shooters out of engagement. It's particularly good in Sonnia 2, where the push also means free Thrall attacks if within 8" of Sonnia. Having gunfighter was long called for so they're still good if engaged (although I'd say the staff is their secondary attack). The bonuses are still kind of niche, but good with We didn't start the fire being handy for scheming and and anti-magic field great for when you need to protect key models from triggers or if the enemy has heavy draw and doesn't care about Counter spell. Orderlies are also amazing. That 6" Creep along will often let them Emergency Surgery twice or just be good scheme runners. Giving out auto staggered on their attack is amazing in Elite and Hold Down is just such a great trigger for Guild (all the guns!). For 5ss, I couldn't take another bite! Also, Changelings have probably cemented Dishonourable Lucius as Guild's best Symbols master.
  21. New Fuhatsu is great! He's gone from a resource drain (requiring mass Focus and cards, to do insane damage) to a resource surplus. He hits, he hits. Great. Do damage. He misses, draw a card and then discard a card for a friend to get a non-charge general action. Seems pretty tasty. If needed you can still do pretty good damage with Focus, but can't do (a quite frankly, insane) 26dg (triple severe, double crit + 2red jokers (cause you reshuffled your deck )
  22. A big one is that Ivan lost the Umbra keyword. So no more healing from Gibson (preferably with Surge). No more pushing himself with Encroaching shadows. I reckon these will have a bigger impact than the no damage trigger. Brokens lost the auto-damage from Hallowed Glory. Very fair Mikhail lost 1" on his melee and his place Chronicle turned into a push. Also very fair.
  23. Is it good... yeah, it is... Is it better than a free Daeva? ehhh... maybe? Like others said it happens at the start of the turn. Lets say your going for damage and do it on something like a Mature to charge backwards. Great! But you're still probably going to need resources to land that sweet 6dg unless your opponent has nicely stacked Focus for you last turn, especially if you want a specific trigger (odds are you'll hit, but be on straight for dg, but there's still decent odds you lose the attack flip, even with the Stat 6+ or need to cheat a suit). So there's card pressure there, too. And really, Zoraida 1 can do this multiple times a turn (to different models) with her 2-action Obey trigger. This can also be done last activation to score or deny rather than start of turn. Compare this hand drain to the other two upgrades hand surplus (by draining the opponent's hand) A free Daeva might be more of a speed bump, if it hits, it hits. Great but it's there to hold up a piece and take resources to kill (both actions and cards). The bombs entirely put hand pressure on your opponent.
  24. While I largely agree with @Azahul, I'll bite! Another less impactful idea would be attacks generated by the chargeaction can't use focus. That would mean that you can no longer 1-shot things from ~11 with ease.
