  1. Have to echo this, I remember testing him and being all over the place, but at the end of the day having only a peacekeeper to show for it. Anna is the big one I'd say and more because she is extreme, either hard countering or having half her abilities be irrelevant.
  2. I must give this a try myself Even going in with what seems like a max 3 burning, I don't think you can "take out nearly everything" on the first turn, as the damage spread on his attacks isn't high enough. I can see waiting til turn 2 for 6 or more burning, then running in and killing 2 things through attacks + burning transfers.... No but dealing 9 damage (3 damage three times) with the blasts to often 2 models near the target is really good. and the target itself suffers 12 damage. (plus one burning if you want) the burning is just for raising the duel total high enough if the plus flip from recalled Training is not enough to get a straight flip. MI 9 is really good Have to echo this approach, not as aggressively, but I always go first turn with Wandering River and then change to High River at the start of turn 2 to proceed to beat the shit out of somebody. Chi Block is an amazing trigger as it can set up any soulstone user for an easy death and the burning effect of bumping duels is amazing at letting you connect AND dodge mote than a few hits.
  3. I don´t know if it´s already been shown, but are there images of both versions of the special plastic Lynch boxes?
  4. Is Aionus also going to be painted in that lovely little way?
  5. Hi, just wanted to say I had a grand time and to thank the organization for the fun had. Sweets were enjoyed and drinks were shared. Also faced some stuff I usually never see (Special mention for the Leve rider list, I´m still wracking my brain on how to deal with that one...) as well as my other opponents, a lovely fellow using Wong and a gentleman using Mah Tucket with a very cool converted crew based on Doctor Who.
  6. Like stated, Imbued energies isn't op (outside of the Miranda interaction which is bs), it's just simply the upgrade that you will always always always get a use out of. Same exact concept with Oathkeeper. The annoying part is that other factions have a pretty specialized upgrade pool which is what really makes it sting when you see it on Arcanist or Outcast crews all the time and you don't seem to have anything that useful (Guild is probably the biggest offender on that sense).
  7. Metal Gamin preerrata were the best 4 pts minion in the game by far, with amazing defensive stats AND rules while also having a phantom min damage of 3 with Fierce headbutt pilling 2 burning on hit all at the cost of taking 1 AP in the first turn. This as well as a 0 action that can punch through enemy constructs hard. The only reason they weren´t game breaking is that being defensive models for the most part they don´t really come in and make their presence felt, but they were skewing all 4 pts models in the arcanist lineup bad just by being so above the curve. That you happen to have problems dealing with ressers does not mean you suddenly you get to have something that was obviously never intended. Armor +2 is still huge and against most models he should still be taking damage 1 by 1, making hard to kill not that relevant in the long run.
  8. Well, his skit is movement shenanigans and late game tankiness. The big seller with him is the drag trigger, so an ideal turn would be to charge in, strike a couple of times and push back to your lines. First problem though is that turn 1 he can't do it and turn 2 not as well as he'd like. Turn 3 onward he starts being a tank, is a semireliable melee expert and can push stuff all over the place. So it's more about you willing to wait those 2 turns. His damage is pretty tame though for his cost, so dont teach for him if you just want damage. His horror tricks can get you some very nasty results, but can be a wash unless the enemy hand is depleted.
  9. I´d say it´s a call of when you see the terrain. Going blind? Illuminated, those bastards are just solid. A lot of severe terrain? The punk, he should be able to maneuver and get there between his walking charging and other pushes. If you have clear shooting lines? The Katanaka will give your opponent fits.
  10. Also, if you outactivate the enemy crew, you can set him up to then really put some pain in an area. Manage to get Nicodem to outactivate, have him summon some punks, send Harry in to take out his pompoms and see those Punks deal absurd amounts of damage.
  11. I'd love to see your converted up Kirai there Razhem! Here´s a couple of pics, hope you like it
  12. Avatar Kirai is a frankly ugly model, the tongue I outright filed off and even then the hair looks very goofy. It was okeysh in the days of metal wyrd, but for today´s standards, it´s very poor. The plastic Ikiryo is amazing on the other hand. As for skipping Kirai, some clever conversion will make her look worlds better, I asked a friend of mine to do a repose where her running leg is touching the ground and now she looks like if she was in a disdainful stride. Finally,I find Sim 29 to be amazing and he will be my go to emissary, at least till the official one comes out.
  13. Give Mei Feng on Wings of Wind and suddenly Sensei Yu has his 1 AP airburst AND a 0 action push in his arsenal, pure gold. Really, that upgrade is pretty much made for Mei Feng.
  14. True, but you also need to know when to stop, in a sticky situation she can devour your soulstones at an insane rate if not careful. Sometimes it's just better to let her die and save the resources.
  15. How I was dealing with that was to pretty much make the Grimoire grow with the campaign. For example, I had a character whose Grimoire was a violin that had a Shard of the Graveyard Spirit, everytime he found something important about the violin or the previous owner (his grandfather) he would enter comunion with the Grimoire, allowing it to remember more of what it was and allow more access to his power. So that other characters didn´t feel like they were getting shafted on this, the spellcaster would be a lot more limited on what he could get from a Manifested Power since in my eyes, magic is pretty much already a form of that. It also lets the Grimoire tie into the storyline instead of just being a dusty old book. There is a lot of strange crap in Malifaux, so sentient grimoire´s should not be a stretch, and give place to lovely story hooks and twists the more influence the grimoire achieves over it´s user.
  16. I'll take out Fuhatsu to screw around, but Envy does what he does plain betterbetter, and not because he is op... As for Yan Lo, I don't really buy the bad rap he gets, seems solid to me and the emissary really gives hima big push. I also like that you can take anything with him and it works. I do play him as a bruiser though, going for spirit or ash, then bone and start generating mayhem
  17. Yay! My stuff is here! and I even got a Malifaux Child because no boxes were had! I did get hit by British customs though...
  18. Yay, seems like I´m sorted, but I do have to ask if I should worry, since I see no reference to the Miss in the order and I´ve heard that this time I´m supposed to see it.
  19. I´m in the low 3000s and still no email, I am hoping for it to just pop out of nowhere in my office though...
  20. I´m in the camp that believes that drinking contest, at least in Ten Thunders, is a trap. Since Ten Thunders aren´t too competent in the art of spreading poison, I´d rather pass on blowing too many soulstones o dodgy upgrades to get the Tri Chi clan in or on the few models that we have that can give poison and just focus on debuffing everything that moves. Hangover is an amazing action and frankly all you need to make Brewmaster work for you. The only one of his upgrades I take nowadays is Choose your Poison simply because it gives me a cheap obey with any low masks I may have in hand on friendlies. I tend to just take him with stuff that has powerful actions but don´t connect as much as they could, Fuhatsu (who will be substituted by Envy) or Samurai for example love Hangover since it suddenly means you are hitting with those powerful actions with a lot more ease and also allows Brewy to keep a good distance away from the action.
  21. The band together was never meant to be competitive, ever, just a "lol, fun" scenario. As for those auras, if it wasn´t opponent choice, you could just stack them in convenient ways and pump huge amounts of damage, as is, it´s a nice bonus that can cripple the enemy hand or make them do absurd plays to avoid the effects all together. They are there to control, not destroy.
  22. Any time you want movement tricks and don´t want to bring Sensei Yu.
  23. Really hope this goes to sale sooner rather then later, I´m currently in a situation of my life where having physical stuff is just not a good idea. I also assume it´s for piracy reason, once a pdf hits the internets, that thing can spread like wildfire and only goodwill will make people pay for said pdf.
