emiba
Hi guys, I haven't got to painting any minis this month, it's just not been my couple of months. However, since I don't have a table large enough to play on in my house, I built a table that can sit on top of a smaller table to allow me to play at home. I don't remember what we said about points for it, but I hope it can count for at least 11 to keep me in the challenge. First the table without any adornments. It uses a 6mm MDF as a base, two sturdy hinges and slats for stability. Folding it up with the play area on the inside protects it while stored. The area on either side is 16cm tall which allows comfortable space for tarot sized cards. The basing is coarse sand sprinkled on PVA and then sprayed with watered down PVA glue. Third picture is base coated with a cheap spray paint from the hardware store. Left is table painted and ponds / swamp pools drying. Pools are a dark green with swirls of bright green in it, then two layers of watered down PVA glue with a sepia ink. The second pouring was a bit generous which caused the brown stains around some of the pools. The greenery is Burnt grass, then earth blend, yellow grass and finally a bit of earth blend again from Woodland scenics. The light is very harsh in the second picture which makes the contrasts look very stark. Finally, the table in use at the gaming club last Thursday. Sadly, I lost the first game on the table. May have to build another one that isn't cursed... 😋 @Caedrus, I'm sorry, but I don't really remember if the table would count for any points, so I'll leave that in your capable hands. Cheers!
Caedrus
@emiba: A terrain board counts for 100 points, and this is the first I've seen done on these boards. A great build - pity about the curse! 1 1

Wow, that's amazing, I thought there were some terrain requirements for those 100, but I'll happily accept it, and hopefully I'll get to actually paint some models in September! I know! Surely, it can't be that my opponent played a better game?! 😝 Maybe playing more games is enough to break the curse.
Franchute
Admittedly August was not a great month for me paintwise. But, the good thing about finishing an arachnid swarm is that now I have the keyword Machina done! To celebrate I took a picture. Most of these minis are among the first I painted for this challenge 2-3 years ago:

prof_bycid
Too many games---so much painting! I did not get to paint any Malifaux this month. If I can use a non-Wyrd mini this month (and I will not make a habit of doing so), then here is a Necron Cryptek on a 50 mm base for 10 SS in August. If this is too far afield, then I must use my first mulligan.
Thedeadclaw
Weird month for me! I planned on doing my Gencon order this month, but it won't be here until the end of this coming up week, so it got shoved to September. So I found other things to paint. At the very start of the month a friend had me paint his alternate Hungering Darkness(7ss)! It was the first mini I've painted for someone else and there's definitely some things I wish had turned out differently (probably would have like to airbrush but I live in a small space so I do everything by hand) but I like it! After that I did Rafkin(8ss), a metal Copycat Killer I snagged in preperation for Miss Feasence(4ss) and 3 Flying Piglets(9ss). After that I still needed a couple more soulstones so I picked the Forgeling(2ss) and got carried away and painted the whole crew! (Mei Feng(15ss), Kang(9) and 3 Rail Workers(15ss).) That was going to be that, but then a friend wanted to paint on the 30th to prep for a tournament the next day, and I figured I'd try out contrast paints on the new Lady Justice crew box. I didn't love how it pooled in some places, but I was done in ~7 hours and I loved how easy the fire and wood were! So that's also Lady Justice(15ss), The Judge(10ss), Scales of Justice(2ss) and 3 Death Marshals(15ss). So that's 111 soulstones this month!
Rathnard
@Caedrus Well a week ago it was looking pretty dicey as to whether I'd paint enough fort the deadline, having finished just Parker Barrows and nothing else. 😬 But fortunately it was a good final week! I didn't finish all of what I'd (very optimistically) planned to do, but it was enough to get over the line; So Parker (15), 6x TOS Infiltrators (30), 2x TOS Sharpshooters (10) and a dodgy-ass townhouse (20) for 75SS total.
Sol_Sorrowsong
@Caedrus The shiny is rather an effect off of one of the contrast paints interestingly enough. It works like a glaze kinda. I have a few that I drybrushed over, but most have a slight shine from the greenish blue color. They are indeed amphibious reptilian and crustacean type monsters that started appearing as breaching portals from Malifaux's seas opened into those of Earth circa 1906. Now they are coming ashore...
