  1. Hoffman starts with 4 Pylons on his side of board, and he can only create one and push one once per turn. So I think it is not a easy job to block enemies in choke spot before them can unpacked. Also completely blocking a object requires 3 markers, which is not small invest to Hoffman. Not saying it is not a problem, but I think we better put him on the board and see. Or make it climbable.
  2. It will be a long list. Discounting all models not yet in the app, Bayou has the following: Model: Wong / Launch into Space(?) (scheme, corpse and scrap) Gluttony / Maddening Drums Sammy LaCroix / Putrefy (scheme) Trixiebelle / Free Loot (scheme) Big Brain Brin / Pulling the String (scheme) Sparks LeBlank / "Now Yer a Robot" (scrap) Fingers Leong / Sabotage Their Plans (scheme) First Mate / Free Loot (scheme) Lenny / Whack'n Stick - Pound to Dust (scheme) McTavish / Gator Snack (scheme, corpse and scrap) Mancha Roja / Drop-Down Takedown (non-scheme), Free Loot (scheme) Old Major / Mark Territory (scheme) The Little Lass / Forage (scheme) Earl Burns / Free Loot (scheme) Olivia Bernard / Set Charge (scheme and scrap) Old Clanky / Frantic Search (corpse) Cooper Jones / Put a Barrel on It (scrap), Moonshine and a Barrel (scrap) Mechanized Porkchop / Tusks -Pound to Dust (scheme), Tin Feast (scrap) The Sow / Birth (scheme and corpse) Lucky Emissary / Steamroller Akaname / Lick Their Corpses (corpse and scrap) Test Subject / Forage (scheme) Slop Hauler / "Here, Pig" (scheme and corpse) Wrastler / Wrastle (non-scheme), Free Loot (scheme) Bayou Smuggler / Appraise (scheme, corpse and scheme) Hog Whisper / "Here, Pig" (scheme and corpse) Iron Skeeter / Free Loot (scheme) Taxidermist / Taxidermin' (corpse) Upgrade: Firecracker Flingshot / Firecracker Flingshot - Burnt to a Crisp (scheme) Twelve Cups of Coffee / Mark Territory (scheme)
  3. One thing to note is that Nicodem is (probably) not receiving a title. Means that despite his huge summoning pool, he is relatively easy to be countered comparing with other masters who have 2 versions to choose from.
  4. It would be funny though if a story encounter that one side playing regular crew against another side playing a single model of the full power Tyrant.
  5. She will have a sniper attack that draw range and LoS from friendly model, and an Obey-like action that only target friendly model.
  6. In Japanese sometime different words would have exactly same spelling despite having different definitions and meanings. In this case there are two different words both spell "Shintaku". The first one is what you got from google, which is "Trusting" and "Entrusting". It is more common used word so google just throw it to you as 1st priority. In here, however, I believe the another word, which means "Oracle" or "Message from the God", is more proper and suitable.
  7. Leap of Faith: If this model would suffer Falling damage, it may take a melee attack. If the attack success, reduce the Falling damage this model would suffer to 0 and the target of attack suffers additional damage equal to the Falling damage reduced this way.
  8. Being able to summon not automatically makes a top master. Most, if not all, of the top tier summoner masters before nerf could generate resources like hands or actions, which combine with the action efficiency of summoning multiple models from one single action together push those master to the top. So far all revealed master title with summoning capability can mostly summon one model per action, from a very limited pool. With this and the change to summoned models and strategy marker, I think they do not bring as much resource advantage as the primal summoner pre-nerf. Also it is a clever design to make different version of master focus on different part of his/her/its keyword. Like undying Jedza love to bring all high cost enforcers, while the beater Jedza lean toward minions like Lamplighter and Moorwraith.
  9. Defined in the Wreathed in Ash trigger under the Call to the Burning Man action.
  10. Isn't the word "...that damage..." mean it is the same damage entity with same amount and same source(burning) that Kaeris would suffer?
  11. Another solution is selling the combine boxes as now, while selling individual model online just like the special order program. Makes the program in limited time such that current players can buy without waste, and new players come into the game later, who have a smaller collection which means less purchase, will buy from store and hence not hurting the store so much. The only victim is Wyrd who has to make room for storing all individual new model so everyone is happy.
  12. Depends on are you creating or dropping the marker. No restriction if dropping, but if you are creating, the marker cannot overlap another marker.
  13. Changing the subject, how do you calling different versions of masters now? I found that there are mainly 3 patterns: [name] 1 vs [name] 2 origin/vanilla [name] vs titled [name] using a single word to describe the version (eg. Summoner Dreamer vs Bury Dreamer, Undying Jedza vs Beater Jedza) Method 1 and 2 are more straightforward and easy to follow but boring and tasteless. And these options would become invalid if there were 3 or more versions of that master (not happening in near future though). Method 3 OTOH is more interesting option. It is also more understandable to new player by saying Obey Zoraida and Effigy Zoraida rather than Zoraida 1 and Zoraida 2. This way, however, is almost impossible to have a consensus among all players. We would end up using Unmasked Sonnia, ToS Sonnia, Pyre Sonnia and other hundred names to describe the same model, which could bring misunderstanding in a conversation if the word was not precise enough.
  14. According to the Swampfiends podcast, seems like that all content creators get to pick one master they like and Wyrd will then gives them the pair of masters and the dual keyword model they pick. So the lack of Bayou master revealing is simply because no one pick Bayou master at all.😢 Let's hope for the remaining creators are picking masters who is pairing Bayou masters.
  15. Had a game last weekend with an opponent who wanted to get a taste of the new Molly. So I took the chance to try out Drudges in origin Anya. My list was like: It was a Break the Line game so I wanted a crew that can hold the center fight. And Drudges had done their job very well. With the protection of Brawler and hazard terrains they were surprisingly hard to remove. And if the opponent could not finish them off, they just healed back to full health in a single activation. Though there are some limitations playing around them: (1) Harder to take non-keyword models, and (2) Turn the crew into very bubble crew. Syndicate was known for lack of inner synergy thus they can take whatever models as needed. Take Mikhail or Emissary to handle the face-to-face fight, or take Austera or Archivist for range pressure. But Stand Together and Goon Squad from Drudge's card do bring a stronger connection to the keyword. So now they need to think carefully before hiring non-keyword models, just like other keywords do. And because of the small area of Drudge's effects, the crew now need to stay close to benefit from that. It is okay for those do not move a lot, but for Anya and Sovereign, it is almost impossible to benefit it. Unless you throw a way their mobility and keep them in a fixed spot. Despite the limitations, I do believe Drudges do pay their cost and worth hiring into hazard Anya's crew. They are 2ss models after all. Also I think I would just leave the Brawler home and have Drudges unprotected next time. If opponent decides to kill them first, then at least they draw the attacks from other models, and with the hazard terrains, they may be able to do some damage on the enemies attacking them.
  16. I believe we now have 54 masters discounting DMH, hence we will have 108 after all title released. I mean I do share you worrisome on Malifaux being the next Guild Ball, but I think it is less worse than you would imagined. Here is not the right place for this kind of discussion so I would just skip to the conclusion, but the main issue of the Guild Ball (and WM/HD as well) is the design space being limited by the single and monotonous objective. Malifaux has a much wider design space with all the combinations of different types of Strategies and Schemes. Learning curve is another difference story though.
  17. Could it be matter of OS? My Android phone had the new cards already while yet my iPad.
  18. It would be as nasty to players who collected both sides of keyword if Wyrd just packed a single master and the dual keyword model into a box, since players were forced to buy duplicated model. Or if Wyrd decided to pack all models into individual boxes, then it would be nasty to the game stores who now needed triple space in warehouse to store those boxes. It is all about the thing of less evil.
  19. Wyrd does allow multiple masters in the GG document while some tournaments forbidden it. DMH is unusable in the official tournament but still some tournaments allow players play whoever they like. So no matter what is Wyrd's decision on this, it is finally up to the TO to make the call.
  20. I don't have my rule book with me now, but iirc, there is a rule stated that: if an action has a target, it must target a model unless specified. EDIT: You can find the rule inside the errata Core Rule p.23. And if you want to move the Lamp Marker, you can use the You're Comin'with Me trigger under the Light the Way action, even if the Lamp Marker is already Lit up.
  21. Sonnia - Kirai Asami - Dreamer Anya - Ironsides Viks - Yan Lo Schtook - ? We now have 4 full pair revealed. Beside the Sonnia - Kirai pair, all of them have a new multi-keyword model that works well with all versions of both side. So what you guys think about the remaining pair? Is there any interesting combination based on lore or game mechanism? I wanna see the following pairing: Ulix - Marcus: to make some mutated pigs Zipp - Parker: they are in the same (flying) boat alreay Ivan - Mei Feng: well you know...
  22. To compare with Lucius, this version of Anya cannot give order to non-keyword minion, instead she does have access to more high value combat pieces that Elite/Mimic does not. Sovereign is more durable with 2 Thunderstruck a turn. Corvis is getting 2 attacks from his Shove Aside trigger. Unseen Manipulation and Arcane Reservoir together mean you most likely playing with 2 more hands than your opponent. I think Anya and Corvis can max out the hand game pretty easy. Both of them rely on Flexible Morality to stay alive, so attacking opponent's hand can help their survivability. Anya's hazard shenanigans remains still, but is more restricted and no longer the centerpiece of the crew. This Anya is more focusing on Scheme Marker shenanigans and friendly models multiplying. She can deny some marker based Scheme just by existing. Drudge, the new member of Syndicate, brings more defense tech and area healing to the crew. Wp is one of the weaknesses of the crew and Unionized can help this out. They are however as squishy as a 2ss model should be. Keep them near your FwC carrier so they give you a SS back when dying. Or protect them with a Catalan Brawler if you do want them stay longer, since they are most likely handing out with a Scheme Marker. They are well performed under the order ver. Anya for sure. The hazard ver. Anya, however, is moving around here and there all over the board so can hardly benefit from them. They are still a good hire though to adjust the SS pool, and can be helpful if you want to win a fight over a fixed point.
  23. She did stay till the end, but it is only because Anya and Sovereign had a bigger target over their head. The opponent managed to kill Anya at turn 3 and Sovereign at turn 4, and thus had not enough time to handle Yannic. I am not sure however, after seeing her played, would my opponent changing his priority list in the next game. As for the starter box, I found my LGS had it hit the shelf already. Hopefully the app would update before weekend so I can play my next game cardlessly.
  24. Tried Yannic last week. The healing/damaging pulse had done some great jobs. The single point of healing maybe minimal, but the utility to adjust health of multiple models is huge. I usually bring a Lamplighter into all of my Syndicate crew, but now I am considering taking Yannic to replace Lamplighter as a healer. Though I need to test her more before I can make the call. She need to stay close to enemies for full efficiency, but has no enough defensive tech. Also do we have any idea on when will she and her friends being added into the app.
