  1. So excited for this. Reminds me of some of the old World events GW would run ( only it's Wyrd so it's better!). SO happy To see my fello Gremlin 'Kin raising the alarm!
  2. Yeah, I'll own up that I was the opponent on this one, and there was certaintly an amount of player error vs. not fully understanding the scenario ( we literaly were flipping through the envounters in his copy of Crossroads and said "yeah this one looks good, what do we do in it?") After Mancha went down ( which I will be honest, I hired more for the fact that it was a "wrestling match" and he's a wrestler and less for good model choice.) I was going to continue at first, and focus on the rest of the schemes with a Wong and Lightning Bug heavy crew, but after the demoralizing first turn VP accumulation, and talking theoretics with Kalkris, sort of talked myself out of it, and we called it there. I don't usualy call a game that quick cimply becaue it's going south for me ( in 1.5 I was known for plenty of games where I kept going despite only havign a Skeeter and Somer left agains a pretty full Seamus crew * Que Beny Hill music*) I do want to try this scenario after I've familiarized myself with it and put more thought into the crew selection and the wrestler choice. The fact is, at a quick look over this scenario would seem to be a 1 on 1 grudge match in the center area, with the rest of the crew focusing else where. In fact, it is a scenario that can highly favor model combinations with high synergy and support, so less a 1 on 1 and more on strong multimodel combos with the wrestler as the point head. So therewill be high advantages to support masters thatcan buff their wrestlers alot ( and masters with Obey getting in that extra hit is always nice). I wouldn't mind to se some of the changes that Kalkris suggested as well, but I am in no ways saying the scenario is broken. I'd need to look it over more and really give a try at it before I could make a sound judgement, and in our first game with it, I realy went in with more of a " Hey, this could be fun, and why not taking the Wrestling Gremlin for a Wrestling Match!?", which was my ultimate undoing.
  3. I really need to start hiring Trixie into my crews.
  4. I love the Brewmaster! It took a few games to really be able to get his thematic crew down, but the last few tourney's i've played I wond out with the brewcrew. I always take at least 1 moon shinobi with him, simply because oponents who don't realize the Drunken Gremlin Kung Fu tend to at least try to tie when losing a duel ( giving the little grem-ninja a ) and to bacily just keep my opponents on their toes with an atack that can target WP and moving shenanigans. Agreed, but usualy I don;t move him in untill other models ( Whiskey, Shinbi, Fingers, etc) have had the chance to dish out a little bit of poison, making Brewmaster's "One for the road" that much more a pain. Brewy is basically a support/buff/debuff/lockdown master so a lot different fro the damage dealing Ophelia or brute/summoning Somer, but throw his crew at your enemy and the wierd actions and poison synergy are alo of fun, and can greatly take even seasoned players by surprise.
  5. Dat Whiskey Golem.... Sad that the Brew Crew won't be available though. I think my gaming groups's going to be confused when they come out and I stop using my proxy crew.
  6. I know it's a little late to respond in this thread, but my first thought on seeing the guilty was:
  7. Yeah, that's how we've been playing it, though haven't worried about the ability too much to worry when the leader's off the board. Not if there is a lot of cover an dyou're playing against a master that likes to move around and keep out of LOS. Most the time, I find his other abilities far better to use, and so don't worry about lineing up for a hat sizing contest with my opponent. Thanks for all the responses!
  8. Hey all, So I have a question regarding Somer's Bigger Hat Than You ability, and forgive me, but I don't have my rule book or card in front of me ( but it's a real easy, basic question); For this ability does the target need to be the enemy leader ( Henchman or Master), or can i target any opponent model? The text on the card states opponent leader ( or something close) discards their hand, and so my local group's taken that to mean specificly the leader must be targetted ( Which hardly happens, even with a more aggresive Somer playstyle.
  9. Well they are "weird Gremlins from the mountains" they may have some different featers, like nasal cavities and stuff...
  10. I find lenny can work well with the Bremaster/Moon Shinobes as well. True, he can't get the Posion condition, but with the Whacked Poglet upgrade, and the right cards it's easy to get a few piglets on the boar, who can be Posioned and get the Shinobe moving with " Where'd ya get that" ( or whatever the 0 act is, I don't have cards right infront of me). Plus, lenny can be a tought large target to draw enemy fire away from your other guys.
  11. You got it, it's a Harvester from the WoW minatures game. The Moonshinobe are Pathfinder Goblin Pyros, the Darker robed, taller Brewmaster is a GW Night Goblin, the shorter version of the brewmaster ( holding the barrel) is a stonehaven Dwarf brewmaster and Fingers is Reinghold ( SP?) from Warmachine.
  12. As stated 2.0 has done away with a ton of hiring restrictions. What this means for Outcasts is that, their Mercenaries are available to a lot more crews. So if you have the wave 1 bos, you have a huge merc library to pull from if you decide to get into more crews, or have the models and want to try different builds with Hamelin. With that said, open Beta of Hamelin is going on and the piper needs a lot of work/feedback, grab the files and try him out a few ways, post in the forums your thoughts on him and help make him feel more Hamelin-ish.
  13. Hamelin. I've loved the idea of him (fluff, game-mehanics), since1.0/.5. Even with broken rules, and (thankfully) errata.
  14. Aside from the Arsenal Deck for Gremlins and Lenny, I haven't gotten any new Malifaux minis in a while. I am anxiously waiting to see what the 2.0 Gremlin sculpts look like. I have gone a bit crazy puttng a Convergence of Cyrris army for Warmachine together though: Cyriss Starter box 2 heavy Vector Kits unit of Clockwork Angels Unit of Attunement Servitors Iorn Kingdoms Tomb Maiden, to stand in for the Steelsoul Pretoector.
  15. I posted this in my forum in the Gremlins section about brining models outside the Brewmaster's usual themed guys ( like piglets and such) but figured I should post i there as well, given the nature of this thread: My proxies: http://imgur.com/a/eUhQu
  16. http://imgur.com/a/eUhQu Not the greatest lighting in my apartment, but here's my proxie Brew-Crew. Fingers is to the far left (played by Reinholdt from Warmachine) with my 1st attempt at a Brewmaster ( who came out as looking more like a partying Witchling Stalker.) Moon Shibobe, Whisley Golem ( there are three large barrels strapped to his back) 2nd attempt at the Brewmaster ( who is taller and a bit better looking, but still has a merchant vibe from RE4), with a moon shibobe and Apprentice Wesley to the far right. They still need details painted in, but I hope to put them on the table today in a few games.
  17. Well I settled for Pathfinder Pyros for the moon shinobe, and have the basic models for the cew. Now I just need to make some slight conversions and paint them up. I'll post pics of my attempts later.
  18. Well, I've been sort of limited so far in runnign 2.0 crews, on account of either borrowing the rulebook while at my LGS, or using the open Beta rules, but my typical list is as follows: S'Omer Teeth 2x Skeeters Hog Whisperer 2x Warpig piglet 2x ( sometimes 3) bayou Slop Hauler Raphael. Upgrades: (all S'omer) Can o' beans Pig Feed Encouragement It's been working well so far, in having the pigs and skeeters tie up the enemies, and the gremlins go about getting schemes/ objectives.
  19. 'Ello fello Green-kin! So our forums seems really quiet latley. Need to try and change that up, show them other factions that Gremlins know how to have a good time! I've been working on a brewmaster crew ( Brew Crew) proxie that I can comfortably field on the table until the offical box is released ( and then either get the box or keep running this crew, depending on how much I like the models) and lookign to fireld him them with my local gaming group. I'm the only gremlin player atm in my group, so I like mixing up my gremlin crews to keep my opponents on their toes. While the Brewmaster obviously works great with a few moonshibobe's around, I've been looking over his rules and trying to figure any other synergy he would have in crew builds. As a gremlin, he doesn;t seem to offer much to other gremlins, aside from healing actions, and causing debuffs on the enemy. So I ask you, Bayou community; what models would you add to the Brewmaster ( aside from his themed crew) from the Gremlin list?
  20. Yeah, I've looked into the Rakham stuff but am having trouble finding it for a decent price.
  21. As the title states, I'm looking for ideas to use to put together a proxie Brewmaster crew. I had a lot of fun playing him in open beta ( with some choice gremlins as stand ins) and would love to have soemthing to be abel to put on the table that's easily recognizable ( with some modding) as his crew. this would include a model for: The Brewmaster Apprentice Weasley 2x Moon Shinobes Whiskey Golem. I know COnfrontatio nhad ninja Goblins, though those seem hard to find now, and Reaper has a ninja Goblin, but that is at 28mm scale, and i'm not sure how it would compared to the rest of my Malifaux minis. Any suggestion swould be greatly appreciated.
  22. to my understanding even if you cheat, the original card is still technicly in play as the Duel/Action has not been resolved. In games where I am playing Hamelin I keep all cards fr that action aside from my discard pile ( so original flipped card, cheated card, and damage cards flipped/cheat) and draw from the discard or library if the opponent cheats. Then the cards I put aside from my action goes into the discard pile only after that action is finished.
  23. hmmm, could be interesting, though the soul stones you spent on the Hog Whisperers and taxi could be a waste if there are no corpse counters dropping for stuffed piggies to be made. WOuldn't recommend this against a Construct or Non-Living crew.
  24. Ahh Ok, I must have misread, as looking back I see it isn't an aura as you said. Good, cause Nix and Hamelin would be silly if they had to be close to one another to be insignificant. The current system reminds me a little of Synapse creatures in a W40k Tyranid army (which I also happen to field) so should be easy to adapt into.
  25. So one question with the new wording of Nihilism: With Nix, since it is an Aura that does not state it includes this model, does that mean if Nix is away from Hamelin he is Insignificant while making those models around him significant?
