  4. In the first week of this campaign, 5 players had not played Malifaux at all and 3 players had not played M2E. Another player has just signed up who has never played Malifaux apart from Demos. This is good news for the growing community and bad (pronounced "work") news for yours truly. I jest, though, as I love teaching new players and hearing their feedback. Everyone is excited to play and each person has their own reasons for being drawn into, or back into, the game of Malifaux in a campaign setting. I even had a player read the achievement sheet and buy me a drink. Cheers! The following crews are represented: Old Major's Pigs - Leading to Ulix in Week 3 Joss's Enforcers - Leading to Ramos in Week 3 Barbaros's Nephilim - Leading to Lilith in Week 3 Toshiro's Void - Leading to Tara in Week 3 (some exceptions to rules needed to let this new player in league) Nekima's Nightmares - Leading to Dreamer in Week 3 Rusty Alyce's Big Baddies - Leading to Leveticus in Week 3 Vasilisa's Puppets - Leading to Zoraida in Week 3 Finger's Drunk Smurfs - Leading to Brewmaster in Week 3 Philip's Horrors - Leading to Molly in Week 3 Sybelle's Popular Zombies - Leading to Seamus in Week 3 Wrath's Seven - Who needs a Master? Francois's Bayou Buddies - Leading to Som'er in Week 3 Who are you bringing? Chad "xKoBiEx Hackman
  5. Greetings Malifaux Players! Starting August 4th, X Planet Games will be running an Official M2E Shifting Loyalties Campaign run by Henchman Chad Hackman. We will have modified rules from the defaults but will stay within recommended adjustments. Much feedback, mostly positive, has been taken from the X Planet community and your voice will shape all campaigns we run together. As Hideouts were a big hit with the last campaign, they will be used. However, they will not be the victory condition. Each Hideout upgrade will contribute points toward your Campaign Total, but achievements like painting and playing someone new will also factor in. This information will be available at X Planet Games this week along with a sign up sheet. Please sign up and leave your contact information so that you can be kept up to date on this and future campaigns. Location: X Planet Games 5170 Dixie Road - Unit 102 Mississauga, ON, L4W 1E3 905-949-4263 Cost: FREE The Details: Crew Selection -50 SS/Scrip Arsenal -You must purchase a Henchman to use as a Leader for your crew. -Any 0-cost Henchman will cost 13 Scrip minus its Cache -You may not purchase a Henchman that someone else is using as a Leader. -One upgrade can be purchased as normal. There will be a Briefing Night every Monday. It is not mandatory that you are there as games can be played any day of the week at X Planet Games. Updates will be posted no later than the Sunday prior to our Briefing Night. Please strive to attend the first Briefing Night on Tuesday, August 4th as there will be some very important information discussed. As well, I would like to get some additional feedback with respect to some of the modifications that we will be using in this campaign. Cheat Well, Chad "xKoBiEx" Hackman Facebook Campaign Link
  6. New Henchman in Peel Region, Ontario, Canada

  7. I just want to be sure before marking one of my players with +1 CR instead of -1 CR. For faction-specific injuries, the last beta print says they are counted as skills instead of injuries. The player in question has one skill and one equipment upgrade on his henchman and one faction injury on one of his enforcers. Is his campaign rating +3, +1, or is the "injury" not considered as it is special case? I have marked the player at +3 based on the final sentence, for now. Further, will this take up a skill slot on his enforcer? Again, the wording says yes. The player and I have used the conservative position as the injury is a benefit and should be counted as such. I just don't want to continue penalizing him or rewarding his opponents if a lucky injury flip was not meant to be scored as +1 CR. Thoughts?
  8. My group will be running a campaign in April with a goal of building the community. As an added twist, I have requested that those signing up try to pick unique Henchman and reserve their Master in advance. Note that I am not banning duplicates as some people may only have one and that wouldn't be fair, but we will laugh and make fun of those people cloning other players' choices. To the point of the post... I will be adding multiple campaign tracking systems as research to get a feel for what works as official semi-competitive scoring. My question is, what does the overall community feel is the most fun system? My primary scoring system will be Hideouts. This is really the only one that will count to determine the "winner" but we all win in a community building campaign with no entry fee. Players will be given one bonus Flair for each Bounty they finish to account for tie-breaking. In addition, I will be tracking Campaign Points and Achievements from the official growth rules. As I mentioned before, this will be mostly informational...but I will point out the achievement of buying the organizer a drink. We will likely be using the doctor, given the loose restriction on leaders. I will probably throw in the Wandering Relic, as well. Scrip cap will likely stay at the recommended level and I am still unsure about allowing trades. Some fondness for hostages has been suggested if I could fit it in. Thoughts are welcome.... xKoBiEx
  9. I am guessing the cards weren't done in time...but I would like to know if there are going to be any. It would be odd if Miss cards were discontinued.
  10. Will Miss Ery be getting a card? The card that came with mine was a generic Teddy.
  11. Claymore65, I think a lot of people want to see Hoffman... Especially considering 1.5 was yanked just after aHoff hit the shelves. Some good points about Raspy, too. She is already playable, but a lot of her signature models are wave 2. Wave 2 is going to make a lot of people happy who have been waiting for her. I'm just super excited that a bunch of my friends, the ones that have been holding out on playing because their favourite master/minions weren't playable, won't have any excuses to get models on the table and have some fun games. Less than 24 hours!!!
  12. Wave two is going to affect the state of Malifaux a lot. Sure, Ophelia and her kin are powerful... but they aren't unbeatable. Many combos are going to be found that seem to break the game. It may also have been a combination of models and objectives. Viks certainly can not accomplish certain schemes and strategies without a lot of effort but they will mop the field in other games. There are too many factors. That said, I will say hypoking is mostly correct and Ophelia is borderline OP... her name even starts appropriately.
  13. For those not in an internal testing environment already, who are you excited to start playing come Wave 2 Open Beta? For me, I can't wait to see what Wyrd has done to some unique Masters like Collodi and Colette. My friend plays showgirls and I'll definitely be watching what happens to her in the coming weeks. I'd also like to see what happens to my own puppet crew and if Collodi can finally find some balance where he isn't over-powered in the hands of an experienced player and totally useless in the hands of a new player. Other masters had very unique game-play in their previous iterations... some with changes even across v1.5 alone. Second edition has been very fun so far. I'm happy with most of the changes and can't wait to see the rest of the masters on the table.
  14. TerraClips is a great system. I would get two sets of Buildings and Streets each. You will need 2-3 boxes of clips, as well. Although you can get by with 3 total sets of TerraClips, 4 sets allow the table to look proper and make tactics important.
  15. I think what he means is that masters aren't quite as single-role as they were before. Sure, you will probably still need to buy multiple masters for tournament play. But, a single master can do far more than it could before... depending on the upgrades. BTW, I give two thumbs up for MOST changes too.
