  1. Archie is absolutely not over hyped, and I consider him better in effect than the rider, and he’s cheaper than the rider. Absolutely should remain in the list. Would only slot him out for Yin, and only if Take Prisoner was in the pool and you want to take it or bluff it. Archie can easily hunt down opposing scheme runners, or provide a follow up blow to something that survives a Seamus onslaught from half a board away. He should really be 2 stones more expensive than he is. Terror, 3 attacks, and hyper mobility, perfect for a Seamus list. Other potential swap you could do is drop the gst and nurse for Toshiro. He is a better Sybelle than Sybelle for the same cost, and he still gets you the Seamus focus engine with foul mouthed motivation. Would not drop the nurse from a pool with corrupted idols though since her tools for the job can be used to cheat your highest card for initiative to place the marker, and then pick it back up immediately.
  2. Having tried GST on Doxies, I tend to find it’s a waste of points on them, not materially actually increasing their survivability. Doxies are hard enough nuts to crack, and if the opponent is going to commit to killing one, the addition of terror and regen isn’t really going to get you 2 stones worth of additional survivability. Additionally, if you’re taking gst youll want a corpse on turn 1 in order to pulse the focus out. Personally would suggest dropping those and then add Sloth, or a Dandy.
  3. I use my metal 1e hollow waifs as my mindless zombies, plus the zombies from Asura, plus the zombie coming out of the ground from the 2e Nicodem crew.
  4. We have different definitions of special mechanics if you define special mechanics as “hire model”.
  5. Most tokens do not require special mechanics to put out. They just get extra ways to put them out.
  6. Eh, I have punk zombies and Skellywags. I do like the necrotic machine better, and the art has Ponto with a bow, which I like, but I probably can’t justify buying a third Molly box.
  7. Most of the errata discussions for Ressers are on discord. Revenant and Red Chapel fixes are a pretty regular discussion.
  8. I do like Coppelius ook, but not for Titania. Terror is a big part of his card and paying his cost in a crew that doesn’t also have a great deal of terror means the opponent can basically just ignore that aspect of his card. I find him pretty good in Pandora, but not really in Titania.
  9. Like I said I think she should have the mask baked in and if she needs to lose sudden strike or have some other minor tweak to get it I think that’s a fine trade.
  10. I also don’t see why she doesn’t have the mask on leap. I would suspect it’s because of one or two reasons. They might have determined that a suited leap was just too much: With a sword whose damage spread matches hers. or a swift reflexes trigger on her sword and a sudden strike trigger on leap was just too many attacks to give her free mobility as well. One way to mitigate that could be to just remove the sudden strike trigger and give her the mask. or give her an ability called: Momentum: If this model declared a walk action during its activation it may add a mask to their tactical actions until the end of their activation. That would help mitigate the amount of attacks she could make since 1 of her actions would have to be a walk for the mask. It might give her more options in how she works. But yes I’d personally like to see her get the mask on her leap, and give whatever small tweaks have to be done if needed so she could have it.
  11. Forgotten Marshal is a fun but extremely high variance model. Competitive models have as little amount of variance as possible.
  12. I’ve used her quite a bit. I hire her fairly(?) frequently in Red Chapel. I don’t tend to hire as much in Yan Lo.
  13. At what point in a duel sequence does Luck Theif fire? Before or as modifiers are generated for the duel, or only after all modifiers have been generated and the math done to see what the total actual modifier is, and then Luck Thief only applies to that modifier If you use focus to shoot at a model with Luck Thief who is affected by friendly fire do you: 1) Apply the Luck Thief rules at step d. In the perform duels sequence, so that any modifiers generated are affected but that rule, so that the final modifier is a double negative flip. 2) Generate the modifiers, do the math to determine a final actual modifier, and then apply Luck Theif to that modifier, so that the final modifier is a straight flip?
  14. All your models have a way around cover/ concealment. Focus.
  15. What suits you care about also has more to do with your keyword than faction. Red chapel only mildly cares about crows, whereas Masks are the suit they tend to primarily want.
  16. I guess I don’t still don’t see it. Sure Peacekeeper can’t use take the hit. But the circumstances where the model you NEED to bodyguard will die in one round, and it’s worth hiring a 9ss model whose sole task is to do so, and can’t wait until a peace keeper can activate and just remove the threat... I dunno I still would rather have the peacekeeper. Or, assuming you guarded model can use SS, just bank an extra large cache.
  17. I guess I don’t see it. I don’t see how she is a better bodyguard than say, the peacekeeper. And why hire a 9ss+ model to bodyguard when for that purpose you can generally get models at 6 or 7 stones to function adaquetly? Its sort of a problem across the game with models in that price range. I really do think they either need to nerf the Archies, Dead Riders, Peace Keepers, Pale Riders and so on across the board, or buff ALL the similarly costed models that aren’t taken.
  18. Not sure why Sam comes up for errata, he looks pretty good to me. Phiona and Reichart look pretty bad to me unless there is some kind of internal crew synergy I’m in aware of. Both either need flurry, an extra move action like nimble or leap, or an absolutely great bonus action. They look to me like the pricing paradigm they tried to implement for high cost models before they let some models in with flurry, leap, nimble, revel in x, and so on. The instant you let some of those in it shifts the expected and needed value of similarly costed models. Sybelle and Kang also got smacked by that and it is not good guild had some as well who didn’t get a bonus. Kinda hard to justify either 2 when you can hire a peace keeper. Marshalls need an overhaul. I really wish Wyrd would just get rid of the undead boosted abilities and just make them flat useful no matter who they are against. They finally stripped all the the anti Arcanist stuff Sonia used to have, and the Anti-Neverborn stuff Perdita never had, even though she was the anti Neverborn master. Just make them thematic in faction and let them be useful no matter who they are paired against without an extra boost if it’s undead. The Keyword should not have to hire models and or win opposed duels that do nothing but let their core mechanics work.
  19. 8+ of anything. Need an 8+ for the Coffins, and the Zombie summon is baked in.
  20. No surprises here, Seamus. He’s a very flexible master, whom solely considered alone, is flexible and powerful enough to work well into most Strats and Scheme pools. Has a number of bad matchups, but I’ve played him so much he’s the only master I’m likely to remember all the tricks for. He only has 2 decent keyword Models, with the rest being pretty awful, so he’ll be investing heavily in OOK and Versitile. Sloth 4 Evah! 😁
  21. Archie is in no way over hyped. The hype is accurate. Ive used the forgotten Marshall quite a bit with Molly. The thing about him is that he is a very high variance model. You will never get consistent results out of him, and the competitive game is all about reliability and minimizing variance. I’ve had some games where the summoning and gun just did everything I wanted and he was MVP and pretty much one of the key reasons for winning. And I’ve had other games where I would have had demonstrably better results if I’d just banked the stones and didn’t bother to put him on the table at all. If you are looking to optimize your crew, in general, I would put him in the never consider bin. That said he is fun, and his cost is about right for the average performance, but bringing him is always a gamble. If you enjoy the variance I would very much recommend him for the wild things he can sometimes achieve.
  22. I would strenuously disagree with that philosophy. If that is true there would be absolutely no way to play a fair game except against models from the same faction.
