We already have strong picks in the 10ss bracket so hench will need to bring something new to the faction, and if that's good enough to oust the likes of Hannah, Lazarus, the SaS, Rusty, etc then we look set to have another awesome pick.

You spark an interesting thought.  Several factions have lower ss cost henchmen.  Francios, Queeg, Firestarter, and Yamaziko for example.  One that is not in the 9-10ss bracket but cheaper would not interesting as then he fights models like Sue, Hans, Convict gunslinger, Johan, and the like for their bracket.

Exactly my train of thought there. I don't think Johan at 6ss is ever going to be bettered as one of the best value models in the game, never mind the faction, but if he is a 7-8ss henchman who does he really compete with? Scion of the Void and Nix as henchmen, Sue, Libby, Convict, Vanessa, Hans, Specialist, Xroad 7 in the enforcer bracket? A few decent picks in there, but it would be nice to have a bit more choice at that cost level.

I can't stop imaging Parker Barrows sounding like Erron Black from MKX.

Based on Parker Barrows' card and the current upgrades we have for Outcasts, I was thinking of equipping him with Scramble(2), Oath Keeper(1), and Scout the Field(1). If we start him 5" from the table edge, we can then trigger a 6" walk with Scout the Field and Scramble. On his activation we can start by ditching Oath Keeper to give him fast, and gain a Soulstone from "Limited Supplies." Walk him twice for 12" unimpeded movement to get into position. So that is 23" down the field. We can reach the remaining 12" with his "Six Shooters." The next two actions depends on where the opponent has placed their models, but for the sake of argument let's say Parker is the first model to activate on Turn 1, and your opponent positioned a model you wish to shoot that is at least 5" from their table edge. So with your third action, Parker can shoot that model, and make them drop an enemy scheme marker 3" towards Parker. It will be 8" away from the table edge, so Parker's "A Fistful of Scrip" can end up converting it into a friendly scheme marker if you wish. Or, if you need to switch up your upgrades, shoot again with your fourth action and trigger "Hide in Shadow" to move within range for his 0 action. If that wasn't enough, Parker can then trigger "Changing Plans" and may have even drawn a card from "Go Through Their Pockets."

Hell, along those lines he should make an easier time of going for schemes like Set Up, Covert Breakthrough, Convict Labor, Detonate the Charges and Leave your Mark depending on what the opponent's crew is, especially if utilizing him on a flank or as an anti-scheme runner killer while the rest of your crew tackles the opponent's main crew for the first turn or two.

I don't think Parker would live long that far up field from the rest of his crew.

It's a fun thought experiment though.

Because seeing you master torn to pieces while the rest of your crew observe this from the safe distance is so fun! :)

On a completely different train of thought from the one where poor Parker's fate is discussed; wouldn't the Hodgepodge Emissary be a nice addition to Parker? In addition to the usual shenanigans, he can receive trinkets (e.g regeneration), reap the benefits and then fire them away for extra damage? :)

The Emissary is a good addition to any crew with his trinkets and scheme shenanigans. I was thinking, even staying thematic with bandits and the western motif, that Parker Crew + Emissary + Hodgepodge Effigy (new mini bandit figure, not older rose figure) would make a nice The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly game on a western style board vs the likes of a Perdita crew. :D

Indeed. :)

After reading the emissary's card again I realized that it can't give out trinkets to leaders. So no extra "ammo" for Parker. :(

True, but he is a master and will have upgrades for other types of tricks. The Emissary can take the generic (buff minion) bonus and still can hand out trinkets like candy in conjunction with whatever else the crew synergies already do.

Emissary should have a Parker specific conflux though? That might remove the restriction (I doubt it though)

Negative. None of the new masters will have a Conflux. The Emissaries and their Confluxes were in response to help balance out some masters (upping the viability of some masters/limited upgrades, and just general use for other masters who were already well balanced). It's too early for the need of a conflux for the new masters just yet. Maybe by next year (2017) there will be enough data to warrant it, but as of now, aside from those who beta tested the models, there isn't enough general knowledge on the new masters to warrant the personal Emissary upgrades.

Am I the only one to see the awesomeness of Parker with Aionus? Drop enemy scheme markers, Aionus picks them and delivers them to parker. 5ss minion models with 2 ap actions and aionus giving them discard support for fast? Markers everywhere and Aionus 2 inch placing them for schemes?

On the topic of scheme marker synergy, Envy seems like a good option alongside Parker (getting a bonus to shoot enemies near scheme markers), while Gluttony's song can turn those scheme markers into forced movement and damage. Performers are also mercs, and they can potentially turn those scheme markers into serious debuffs for the enemy crew.

Also AFAIR Aionus can only move friendly scheme markers and Parker's action drops scheme marker which belongs to enemy crew, right?

That's one of his 0-actions, yes. Nunorod was probably speaking about his other 0-action, which places a marker (not belonging to the strategy) up to 6". :)
