  1. Upcoming page actually shows box contents. Looking at Levi's core box, it contains: Levi, Waifs, Rusty Alyce and 3 Scavengers. Do note that Levi's 2e box has a different set of models, in case you bump into that.
  2. @Caedrus 10ss done. Finished my pledge a few days ago: Silent Knight, painted up for a buddy. Lots of washes and drybrushing on the wooden armour. Some quick layering on the rest. I imagine it'll get a purple painted base rim before too long now that it's out of my hands It's a neat mini. Lots of potential for some really moody paintjobs. I just went for an uninspired "roughly box art" paint scheme as was requested of me. As a result I wasn't very passioned with this. I like'em flamboyant. But not everything has to be a passion project. I'll gladly hack and be hacked by this thing in future matches. Now if you'll excuse me I have to get back to my painting desk and work on some electric blue hair to get all this drab out of my system
  3. Yeah, she's one of my favourite sculpts from the box and a big letdown on rules front. I'm hoping someone can strike gold with her, but I'm not holding my breath.
  4. You decide to relent before flipping. Regardless of the card the attacker then flips and/or cheats, its considered a tie. Relent rules are on page 10 of the free rules pdf.
  5. I like the look of those models. Reminds me of Dark Souls. But yea if it isn't making you happy, might be best to just shortcut to 'finished'. They're quite pretty to look at as is.
  6. Mechanically he fits in quite well though. Yas is decent at depleting opponent's hand (hellooo Execute trigger) and can flip a ton of cards early (great setup for 2nd or 3rd activation Abandon Honor).
  7. Arguably Emissary and Yasunori are simply good.,high-ish level performers regardless of the crew. Dawn Serpent I mainly like in Plant Explosives, but there again it's fairly master agnostic. So no big NO masters at all if you ask me. Yasunori does like it if there's easy access to healing to better make use of its card draw action, but TT can easily hire that in so it's not a major consideration.
  8. Brown on the wood is 3:1 brown wash (Army Painter) to Inktense Chesnut. Mixing ink into wash gave it a lot more oomph, and chesnut has a lovely redbrown look I wanted. All of this went over a light, desaturated brown. I've got the Vallejo Game Ink set as well and it's quite good too. Exact colour tones mostly differ from the inktense range so I can justify having both. Sort of
  9. @Barbercat I can't see any images. Links don't seem to work. ______ So here's first night's progress on Silent Knight: This session was mainly focused on the wooden armour. Lots of drybrushing and washing on it. In reality the legs aren't quite that dark looking. I'll try to get a more accurate photo once it's all done. Going for a clean black base since friend this is going to prefers it that way. Next session will probably be metallics. Best of luck with everybody's work.
  10. One option is to look up stores that carry 2e stock. Or go 2nd hand. Unreliable but can be cheap enough when it works.
  11. Very beautiful mini indeed. Did 'mine' in white too. It suits him well. Eager to see where you take it
  12. Yea VMC Beige is fairly yellow. I quite like it as highlighting ingredient. Makes for some interesting colours. I hope you find something you like. If it's any consolation you can probably slop quite a bit of paint on a model looking for the right thing before it gets irredeemably thick. I know that's how many of my paintjobs go.
  13. Are white pants part of the scheme? I quite fancy the paint scheme as it stands. Just needs some shadows, highlights and fire and you're done. But if you're not into the colours, just paint over it. ____ Suffering from a bit of eyestrain, but yes
  14. Had a quick browse through the rulebook. Seems it assumes 5th round to be played before end-of-game scoring happens. Which is fair enough. Often time limit is after all an additional rule imposed by an event. ...and what do event guidelines (ie. Gaining Grounds Season 0) say about scoring prematurely ended games? (GG season 0 page 6, bolded by me): So assuming it's a GG following event, end of game scoring will happen at the end of the game regardless of the actual turn said ending happened.
  15. Sick tats👍 I know what you mean with the GW comment. Peculiar model. Nice work.
  16. Hey there, hi there, ho there, Another year with the Wyrd year-long painting challenge, another year I'll chronicle everything else I do alongside it. For the monthly challenge thread see this for January and this for February. There's still time to join in. It's a neat little project Here's my 2019 'side' thread if someone fancies a look. What to expect this year? At least one Wyrd mini every month at leastLot more quick 'n dirty boardgame stuff this year. Made a new year's resolution to paint up most of my Battlelore 2nd edition boardgame, including all expansions. That's over 200 minis total, though I'd done maybe 60-70 in the past few years. Minis themselves are decent-for-the-time boardgame plastic from early 2010's. ie. fairly crappy. Quick, simple paintjobs. Plain bases. That's the plan for this project. Hopefully I can squeeze in some fun singles every now and then from other manufacturers too. Enough rambling. Wot I Painted in January: Starting with Battlelore 2e, I finished up my undead army: Skeleton Archers Banshee - Let me just say that conceptually I really dig this mini. Having the banshee physically enslaved like that, it just seems more interesting than the usual "wailing all by my lonesome" banshees I've seen. Barrow Wyrm 6 out of 24 Citadel Guard done. With undead finished, I'll be focusing on "good guy humans" next. Doing all 24 in February. ____ And finally something a little nicer, as seen on the January challenge thread, my Yasunori: ____ 21 minis done. That's all folks, till next month
  17. I really like your style. And it's nice to see a cooler Kaeris for a change. Are you going to carry that theme over to the elementals or will they be traditional fire?
  18. Going to go with Silent Knight (metal alt Killjoy) for February. Local NB player traded me his unpainted Killjoy in exchange for me painting his Silent Knight. Requested I mostly follow the "official" colours so no wild pinks this time. No pic for now, but just imagine a beige primed mini like last month, and you've got it ____ @Caedrus ...just how many half finished minis do you have lying around?
  19. @Caedrus 10ss done. Sure! Was sort of cut short on my last post by kids bedtime preparations. So here's wot I painted: Wings ended up being a really big block on my progress with this. Didn't know how to approach them. Wasn't happy with initial attempts. Ended up with something I was fine with. And by the end I was quite done with this mini. Thinking back, what was it that I said early in this thread..: "Realistically something as big as this is likely to wear me out by the end. So no promises on quality." Well, I do like where I ended up with it. Certainly tableworthy now. Even if there's things I'm not happy with. I likened the latter half of this paintjob as stumbling downhill. Relatively fast, not that difficult, but certainly not ideal. Happy to be done with it now. ...and fuuuuuuuudge. Forgot to paint the sword pommelsWell, I guess I know what I'll do after I finish this post. Probably won't take another photo though. And a friendly tip, do consider painting him in subassemblies. Yasunori isn't an awful model to paint when all glued together. But if you can do the rider separate, or even the wings, it'll make life easier and be easy to glue on afterwards. Small regret I had while painting this. ____ Fun non-painterly tidbit, composer of Chrono Trigger's soundtrack (SNES era rpg) is named Yasunori. It's a pretty good soundtrack if you like SNES sounds. And individual songs were remixed/redone by Bad Dudes in their Chronotorious album. That one isn't very SNES, but it's quite good. I recommend both if you're into that sort of thing, just look'em up on youtube if interested
  20. Always a pleasure to re-read through this thread towards end of the month. @Magnus Digging the colourful bunch. Lovely crew. @Boomstick Such whimsical crew. A Joy to watch you expand it. @Pastori Classy whites. Cool investigators. @lusciousmccabe Ice ice baby!👍 @Caedrus Good stuff all around. Almost scaring me into not painting my own Envy @Viruk Interesting skintone on Rasputina. Solid Viruk-quality yet again for the whole crew. @Harlekin You may be slow, but I can see where the time is spent. Rocking it! @Monkeyfist In my experience "not my best" often translates into "pretty good". Not a bad place to be inDigging the investigator. @Lukkimus Inspirational snakeman! And big thanks to everyone I failed to mention too, for participating. 1 done (or almost), 11 more to go. Here's to many more painted minis this year🍻
  21. I buy old style bases from ebay etc.. 10$€£ for 100+ bases including shipping. Just search for "30mm lip base".
  22. Free action, to use the correct terminology, but yes. I've been playing a bit of Sonnia recently and I just use something cheap to do the idol interacts. Sonnia & buddies blow stuff up nearby.
