  1. Also known as "Let's play soldiers! Big Sis won't mind."
  2. Couple of firsts here. First time doing a proper diorama (not just a largeish base), and first time trying for nmm (looks like shiny wood, but hey, it's something). The base is Crayola Air Dry Putty, which does not paint as well as I would have liked, but it is very spongelike, so eventually it sorta sealed and the end was better than the beginning. It's the scene from the Oingo Boingo music video about thirty seconds in.
  3. I love how smooth the shadows are! Gorgeous piece!
  4. The highlights on the edge of the boards are a nice touch. They brought my eyes up and down the model. Very good.
  5. I love the velvet jacket. It looks like such a soft, nice material!
  6. I love how many different textures there are on all the surfaces. I mean, I like the whole piece, and I loved the newspaper and the extra details, but my eye couldn't linger on any one thing for too long. In my mind, that's a very good thing.
  7. The rust and verdigris add a great kind of depth to this piece, and I love the use of lighting to create those deep shadows.
  8. I love the mess of wires and gears! This piece is very fun to look at!
  9. I love the play of light and shadow on the two figures. With how shadowed she is, you can almost feel her despair. An inspired piece, for sure. I love it!
  10. I love the whole scene, but the plans for the rocket, discarded in the bushes as they were, really sold it for me. I really love the flowers and frog and peaceful nature of the scene, too.
  11. I really like this piece. It's hard to point out what I like best (although the freehand on the robe is very clean, the details to the desk and its contents are nice and the sigils under the doll are pretty cool), but that's probably a good thing. The whole scene flows together well.
  12. I love the desk of wooden drawers, the stripes on the green apron guy's shirt and the use of the super rough floor. The piece fits well together, but it would have been nice to see some more extreme highlighting.
  13. I love the whole piece, but I loved it more when I saw the free hand monitor. It reminded me of something straight out of Fallout 3 or 4.
  14. I love the whole feel of this piece. The parchments on the floor are a fantastic touch and the consistent color scheme isn't too muddied, which is good. Also, when I realized it was popcorn, I was absolutely delighted!
  15. For some reason, this is absolutely terrifying. I love the paint job and especially all the naturally shiny objects, and his skin is beautifully crafted.
  16. I really like the gas mask and the wonderful eye bits. I wish the rest were a little lighter so I could see the details a little better, though.
  17. I love the beautiful highlights and I'm a sucker for purple to blue transitions. I love that they are repeated and fantastically executed.
  18. The flesh tones on the cherubim are wonderful. The highlighted red makes me smile, too, and I love the matching goggles!
  19. I love the bright colors! Would have liked to see more happening on the base, but it works.
  20. This instantly made me happy. I love the diagrams, too; freehand words and such always blows me away!
  21. All the "floating" components... That's a lot of energy! I love this!
  22. I love what remains of Dr. Al. The angle makes it look like the lion's head is about to lick the floor clean.
