  1. Greetings All -- this month is going to be a tough one and I've been reluctant to post up for demos but I think if we practice good social distancing and utilize other means... we just may be able to do this demo thing for Malifaux 3rd Edition. So, with all this pandemic response and responsibilities in mind, I've determined that we can do some demos over VASSAL. VASSAL has a lot of various game 'modules' for playing games and the one for Malifaux is great. With this in mind, please get in touch and I'll be checking the boards for those interested. I'll take the time to set up a virtual VASSAL Malifaux game table and run you thru a demo game. Also - you've got a few more days of the Easter Sale at your fingertips! Catch you at the <virtual> game table! All the Best ~James
  2. Greetings All, The demo events for February were fantastic! I want to thank all of you out there who showed interest and came. There's a lot of room here in Fairbanks and Alaska at large for expanding Malifaux, Through the Breach, & The Other Side. Look for me at The Comic Shop here in Fairbanks for demos of Malifaux throughout March. Send me a private message to get in contact for setting a demo game for you and your friends too. As the land here in Alaska begins to thaw from this very cold winter, I'd like to see about even more days where I'll be setting up table (or two...or three...etc) for some Malifaux. See you soon! Be Well, ~James
  3. Greetings All - February is upon us already? Sorry so late getting this out but I was crazy busy with work and some family stuff. I hope everyone had a great Chinese New Year and is ready for some more Malifaux 3E More and more releases means that our love of Malifaux continues to get most excellent support. I know there are delays - but that is not Wyrd's fault... all those shipments coming from abroad will eventually get here -- patience, we will be rewarded! I have tables worth of new terrain for demos and games. I hope to see you out there and will also be sneaking onto Fort Wainwright to demo at the Warrior Zone. There's a great event coming up at the Comic Shop called the Learn to Play Faire. I'll be there for sure with a table of miniatures and terrain ... ready for some great demos and willing to chat up all things Malifaux all day long. See you out there -- catch you all at The Comic Shop or out 'n about Flipp'n Cards since 2009! Be Well, ~James
  4. Greetings One & All, I am back at it in November! October was a busy month, but things are smoothing out and I'll be back at it. More and more 3rd Edition is getting out into the wild. I'm still working on getting The Comic Shop to get a proper distributor for product... they're working on it. In the meantime, please come on out for demo games and Malifaux Fun! You can email me here in this event listing or contact me at ngolmo@gmail.com and we'll set something up. Pretty soon we're going to have either a Henchman Hardcore or Enforcer Brawl event. Looking forward to catching up about everything Malifaux and hearing from you! Catch You Soon! Be Well, ~James
  5. Greetings All! September is upon us!!! I'll be at The Comic Shop this upcoming 9th of September and each Monday thereafter. I've received a lot of stuff from the GenCon Malifaux/Wyrd sale and am furiously assembling and painting up the new stuff. With Malifaux heating up across the world, I'd like to announce that between Fairbanks and Anchorage, we've got enough players that we're going to hold events to qualify for the Nationals. More information to come on this. Looking forward to seeing you all at The Comic Shop and anywhere else we might be able to get a Demo Game going See you there! May the Red Joker look kindly upon you And may the Black Joker stay hidden and forgotten! HA! All the Best ~James
  6. Sometimes, only smoke in the magical mirror can reveal the true nature of things... Here is my work for the last round. Malifaux "hero" shows her true nature in front of the magical mirror. Who knows, how many people were tricked by this doppelganger?
  7. What happens, when a mindless flesh construct decides to cook some potato? Ohhh, you never know

  12. Hey guys, I acquired a bunch of painted miniatures from a good friend a couple years back with intentions to get involved with the Wyrd world but unfortunately I have been so busy with work and school I was never able to do so. Can anyone with the knowledge let me know an approximate value of these? I'm clueless to what they are worth. Are the ones I have common? uncommon? rare? any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking of giving them to my nephew but if they realistically have some value I might just sell the entire collection to someone who might appreciate them and know more about them. there are a deck of cards and like 77 painted models. a couple are slightly broken need to be glued and there is dice and some stones and foam placement bag..please see photo album link. thanks for any insight on this guys! the gallery is here for all the images https://goo.gl/photos/r31tXPbir1WgcjiA9 below are just some quick photos
  13. Yo Wyrd! To celebrate the success of The Other Side kickstarter, are you guys going to go big at this years GenCon or what?????
  14. I was just wondering how to make sense of the release schedule on the "Upcoming" page. For example, the "Iconic Fate Deck" says "In stores August" but it's the end of September... everywhere I've looked still says Pre-Order only. Is this normal? When do these items actually become available? I just wanna throw my $$$ at you Wyrd! Why you messing with my emotions?!
  15. Had my first game with Parker tonight vs Gremlin Zoraida via Vassal. Deployment: Standard Strategy: Headhunter Schemes: Show Of Force Leave Your Mark Public Demonstration Set Up Convict Labor (Always) My List: (Took Leave Your Mark & Set Up-Fingers) Parker -- 4ss +Oath Keeper - 1ss +Scout the Field - 1ss +Tally Sheet - 1ss Doc Mitchell - 3ss Mad Dog Brackett - 9ss +Lucky Poncho - 1ss Hodgepodge Effigy - 4ss Hodgepodge Emissary - 10ss +Conflux Of Conflict - 0ss Ronin - 6ss Ronin - 6ss Sue - 8ss Gremlins: (Took Show of Force & Convict Labor) Zoraida -- 5ss +Hex Bag - 1ss Fingers - 10ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Survivor - 5ss Survivor - 5ss Survivor - 5ss Merris LaCroix - 6ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Sammy LaCroix - 7ss +Crystal Ball - 2ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Slop Hauler - 5ss Caveats (and excuses ) - I knew going in that I was playing Head Hunter and that all my ranged attacks would work against me, but didn't really care as I wanted to try out the crew anyway. I screwed up quite a few things, mainly in the way of forgetting draw card auras, gain soul stone on discarding an upgrade once, etc, but it's a learning experience. Reasons for crew selection: I only took 1/2 a bandit crew (Parker, Doc, Mad Dog) to ease my learning process as I knew I would make initial mistakes and already had all of Parkers upgrades to potentially worry with. The other 1/2 of the crew was just a test for Soul Stone/Card draw gain with models I knew functioned well. Ronin could self-sac to deny heads and gain me cards/ss. effigy could 0AP to buff Parker for SS gain and provide soft cover. Emissary could help boost my own scheme drops if needed, or feign Convict Labor as well as cast at range to ignore cover and pass out trinkets to make my models more effective (like regen on Sue and Companion on Doc). He could also 0AP to allow a mid turn card draw for the cost of 1SS. Sue could allow more card draw, and do his usual tool box tricks and anti-cast auras as needed (which helped vs Zoraida & Sammy immensely). I chose the upgrades on Parker that I did as I could burn 2 of them (for SS gain and use) while replacing them with his 0AP Five Finger Discount during the turns. I knew going in I was basically forfeiting Show of Force though with my lack of adequate upgrades, but as I had not taken Set Up once since it came out I said screw it. That, and I purposely chose Fingers as he can heal, change my markers to his (not a big deal for Parker to turn them back), and has a Chatty aura, so figured he would be around long enough and that my opponent wouldn't see it coming...and I was right on that. Match - The game ended a 6-6 tie that we called on Turn 5 as we were both tired and it was a fun game overall, so I was happy to end it there. Could have gone either way had we had more turns though. I'm not going to give a play by play of the game as it's very late and I'm very tired, though I will try to give a more detailed report next time I do one of these. First and foremost, I liked the crew. I didn't get the most out of Parker or Mad Dog, but Emissary with Doc beside him for +Flips from the Conflux upgrade kept my crew alive way longer than it should have been. Parker scored full points for Set Up turn 3 by first having Mad Dog kill something at range (drops a friendly scheme marker when he kills something), and then Parker hit Sammy to drop an enemy scheme marker, ending the activation by discarding 2 cards to turn nearby enemy markers to friendlies for the scoring points. Parker's ability to drop enemy scheme markers kept screwing up my opponent. I kept hitting his gremlins and dropping his own scheme markers near his Convict scheme markers denying him points due to proximity (my opponent lamented not taking Sammy's move markers upgrade). An uncontested Ronin on the southern part of the map ran up a flank to score 2 of my Leave Your Mark schemes (until Fingers said enough and ran like hell down to stop it). I thought the crew and the game was fun, but a head spin for me trying to not only keep up with all the multiple layers of card/ss cycling. It was difficult to not forget one bonus here, or to figure out which upgrade to grab there, though that will come with time. I found a strong need to balance which upcoming model/action is most needed as the crew is card hungry for things like moderate to high cards or discarding for abilities. This crew is definitely going to reward knowledgeable players who take the time to learn which upgrades/actions to use when.
  16. I contacted Wyrd regarding this but is yet to receive a response, so was hoping the forums can give me an answer. Jaakuna Ubume was listed under the June releases, but I have been unable to find any online stores that have her in stock, she is still listed as a pre-order on miniaturemarket, and she isn't available at all on the Wyrd store. When will we be able to purchase her ?
  17. Per the title. Would love to see a box set featuring 2 Freikorps Trappers and another with 3 Freikorps Librarians (because Librarians are baller enough to want that many of them).
