  1. The wording is "This model is immune to the effects of generated by other models." So I would think you can get vitality of them as that aura doesn't have an "effect" on the Seishin, it just checks if they are there. Granted "effect" is a bit vague. Oops. I was thinking too much of Chi since the Hayreddin model is so ugly. --- What are the thoughts on bringing some Belles to Lure a suitable target close, poke it a bit with the Soulporter before killing it with Yan Lo? I guess the big cost here is that the Soulporter can't push Ancestors around at the same time, slowing down the crew a bit.
  2. No "per turn" limits on Spirit Barrage/Revitalize, as long as you can hit severe or kill something you get one.

    M2e Colette

Mech can summon mannequins but it will be at 1 Wd so its +3 armour does nothing.
  4. I think if you want to hit one model twice for chi you really need to be ready to drop a bunch of cards on it, even if you have Hayreddin hanging around you might very well miss the attack and so on. Any cards you manage to top deck is like you had drawn a card . One benefit to hitting one model twice instead of two Seishin once each is that you can charge it with Yan Lo and get some movement out of the whole exercise.
  5. Well several of the monsters of Malifaux wouldn't fit in normal buildings, and if you were to design all buildings to accommodate them they would look pretty weird with people sized models. Of course if you are building a cathedral or something you can get away with pretty high ceilings. Don't have any avatars, but the Carrion Emissary is 89 mm to the wingtip, Rail Golem is only 83 mm.
  6. Decapitate is "After Damaging" so it happens after step 5. Normal damage and getting killed is done during step 5. So the shieldbearer takes 5 damage, "would be killed", uses Chosen, all during step 5. Then you check if it took any damage (it did since Chosen heals it, it doesn't prevent the damage) and Decapitate is resolved.
  7. I think most buildings should be Ht 3 or taller, I mean you can have some dog houses (Ht 1), small sheds (Ht 2), but the majority of buildings are considerably taller than a person. The game also plays a lot better IMO if there are plenty of pieces that no one can see over. When it comes to scatter terrain, Ht 1, 2, and 3 walls, fences, and hedges all have their place, both from a "realism" and game play perspective. Emissaries are Ht 3, some of the models are perhaps a bit on the tall side (especially if you count wings and similar) but game play wise they are all Ht 3. To date the Rail Golem is the only Ht 4 model.
  8. Since each chain mail ring is connected to at least four other rings the actual holes are very small and even a bodkin point would have to expend energy breaking rings to get through. A broadhead would have to break even more rings. Chain mail (with the proper padding worn under) was generally very good protection against medieval weapons for those who could afford it. A chain link fence have huge holes though and I guess bullets would break the wires with minimal defection if they happened to hit them (it wouldn't be very practical to make the fence wires from thick hardened steel). I would only give a chain link fence movement related traits (you can't just walk through it but it's rather easy to climb (unless there's barbed wire on top)), no cover or visibility penalty.
  9. In that case losing the is irrelevant, you'll be able to use the Action without trouble. It matters for Actions with TNs, e.g. Lure.

I agree with this. Having a story character be a mechanical character also constrains the stories, if the old Governor General had been a Master they couldn't have killed him like they did. Well they could've if they really wanted to, but they don't want to make people's models unplayable. Another aspect is that the more powerful a character supposedly is in the setting the more it hammers at my suspension of disbelief that they have time to run around and fight little skirmishes in the back alleys of Malifaux. If they made changes here I think it should be in the other direction, e.g. have Ramos lose control of the M&SU to some shadowy background character.
  11. A spreadsheet, it was linked in this post. If you want everyone to be able to see an updated list continuously Google docs is probably easiest.
  12. Voided is after another model resolves a successful Ml Attack. Still a lot of cards in this scenario, but good to know in general.
  13. Brass Arachnid reactivating stuff. Colette's All together now can potentially get you a lot of Actions, the scheme markers could have been placed with (0) from Colette's or just AP that wasn't useful earlier in the game.
  14. I think Johanna is one of the worst offenders when it comes to model vs range. Relic Hammers in general is kind of short to be range 3, but regular plastic Johan has a huge one, and plastic Taelor does a decent job at selling the reach with her pose. But Johanna has a teensy weensy little hammer! Some inconsistent models are the December Acolytes. Their ranged weapon is a "Harpoon Gun" which has a trigger to drag the target closer. Two of the sculpts has a launcher with a huge projectile that you can buy trails a rope (how it gets launched with any kind of force is still a mystery though ), but the third one just has a tiny crossbow mounted on the back of her hand.
  15. Dead Doxies were pretty fiddly, and the one holding her head has gaps between parts going across the rather delicate details of her fingers. Also that parasol has a serious lack of contact points.
  16. Illuminated (legacy 1.5 crew box, like Torekage and Rail Worker so somewhat understandable. They did break out Ashigaru, that perhaps did not sell very well, but I would expect Illuminated to sell better.) Freikorps Librarian Freikorps Specialist Onryo (this is a pretty weird one as they are the minions from a modern crew box and have keyword synergies with another Master) I think a box of Librarian, Specialist and Trapper (who may be rare 2 but you only get one in the crew box) would sell pretty well. Call it "Freikorps Elite" or something.
  17. While there is some consistency with knives/claws getting 1 and polearms/whips getting 3/4, whether a model gets 1 or 2 with a medium weapon feels pretty arbitrary. And sometimes it's about balance, i.e. one of the changes to make Union Miners a little better was to increase their range from 1 to 2.
  18. Book 4. It lets the model use two (0) actions (can be the same one) once per game and can only be targeted by enemies within 3" on the turn you use it. When the model dies you get a mindless zombie.
  19. That is thicker than it needs to be and might be hard going to cut without power tools. I use 0.7 mm steel (not stainless) for my magnetised trays, which I cut it with a hacksaw. I think 0.7 mm is sturdy enough for impractically large trays and is already kind of heavy.
  20. I didn't paint any models in Nov and Dec.
  21. I don't particularly like the render, would definitely need to see an unboxing before considering buying him. As for the topic, I didn't follow the TtB part of Nythera so no clue what he might be like.
  22. The Sensei Yu FAQ entry is obsolete since Drinking Contest changed. I guess it does give some indication on how Justin might have ruled "Just Like You!", now we just need to know what Aaron thinks.
  23. Yes, and then remove it from the other guy.
  24. Yes, you're right. For some reason I blanked and thought this was about a campaign start...
  25. If you are decided on Snowstorm and Blessed I'd fill up with a Silent One, an Ice Gamin and the Arcane Effigy.
