  1. My area is doing a similar tournament, but with the added rule of you HAVE you use everything in the crewbox (or at least that's how I'm reading it.). Is that the same for your tournament?
  2. I can't agree with this more. I played in my first tournament recently and game one had Rami snipe the enemy McCabe first activation. Sever damage took him off his horse, which got me Eliminate the Leadership points first activation! I haven't really tried him outside of playing Ophelia, seeing as nearly everything in her crew is Ht1 so he can shoot over them. He's great for specific schemes (hunting party, eliminate the leadership, a quick murder, pretty much anything that has killing in it.). Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Lenny reduces the dumb luck damage Rami takes, so I tend to go reckless more often because of it (still kind of new myself, hope this is right.). Lenny and Ophelia also helps to relocate Rami if he needs to change positions is a hurry, though less so with Ophelia since she'll likely be closer to enemies then Rami wants to be. I don't have much else to say, since I also don't have too much experience yet, but I hope this helps.
  3. Thanks I figured as much, just wanted some clarification if timing was a thing when it came to scoring.
  4. Dig their graves states that "Once per turn, after this Crew kills of sacrifices an enemy non-Peon model that is within 4" of one of more Scheme Markers friendly to this Crew, score 1 VP, then your opponent may remove one Scheme Marker friendly to your Crew within 4" of the killed (or sacrificed) model. If this Scheme and another of your Schemes would score any VP off the same model being killed or sacrificed, you must choose only one of your Schemes to score from." Hunting Party states "At the end of every Turn after the first, score 1 VP if at least one enemy Minion or Peon model was killed by one of this Crew's Enforcer or Henchmen models." My question is on the timing. It looks like Dig their graves is scored right away, while Hunting Party is scored at the end of the turn. If that is the case, can you score both off of killing the same model, since Hunting Party doesn't score at the same time as Dig their graves?
  5. I don't know about anyone else, but these pictures aren't showing up for me. If they are the results from Saturday they can be found in the post under the one I'm quoting, but I'm interested in how top 8 played out on Sunday. Also had a super fun time, even though I ended really far down in the standings (42/49). My first tournament and I did better then I thought I would (thought I wouldn't win a single game, did manage to go 10/7 round one ), and I hope to enter more events in the future. Thank you for running such a great event!
  6. She was hanging out in a box, on sprues, in a store. I don't own Perdita yet. I plan on getting her soon, as she seems kind of like The Guild's easy button master.
  7. I finally got a chance to try using the Emissary against Yan Lo, specifically by putting Izamu in the box, and still lost really hard. He kept healing through a bunch of stuff for the first few turns, but Yan Lo popped him like a balloon turn 3 and the problem that is Izamu was back. My current win rate against resurrectionists with my guild is about 1/10, and adding in other factions I've tried it's 1/14...I really need some help against them.
  8. I'm so glad this thread is here. Currently I play only Guild and my only consistent opponent plays just Rezzers. So far I've only been able to win one game (was Sonnia against McMounrning), so seeing some of this should help. This is the main Master my friend takes, and I'm still having trouble finding ways around it. He tends to use Izamu, Yin, and Chiaki with him, changing the rest of the crew depending on scheme and who he thinks I'm running. I currently have McCabe, Sonnia, Lady Justice, and Luscius, with a few other figures (Riflemen, Brutal Emissary, Gov's Proxy, Executioners). I think McCabe might be the best bet (With what I have, I have no idea how some others, like Hoffmen or Nellie, would do), since he can have himself or someone else ignore Izamu's armor and some armor for Yin's damage aura. I've been thinking of just trying to put Izamu in a box with a Death Marshal or the Emissary too just to get him out of the way. I'm still learning the game in general, but I hope this helps.
  9. I've been trying to put together my gremlins and I've been having quite a bit of trouble. This is my first minis game so I have no experience putting models together before this, so it's been a bit frustrating. Seeing some of these models makes me wonder what kinds of trouble other people have gone through for some of their figures. Here are some of mine that have annoyed me to put together. 1) Lady Justice. Her arms were one of the hardest pieces I've had to deal with so far. Her sword was easier for me! 2) Rami. For some reason the barrel of his gun was really hard for me to put on. I unfortunately broke one of the pieces, so it looks like he had some dumb luck with his gun and the barrel broke. 3) Slop Haulers. The one with the big drum on his back. Tried putting him together while sleepy and angry, and the arms got the better of it. For some reason I couldn't get ther right arm in the right place, eventually got angry and just forced it on. I still have quite a bit of figures to put together (2 young lacroix, the entire Somer'Teeth box, Mah Tucket and the Bushwackers) so I likely have much harder figures to put together. So, what figures have people had problems together together? Any tips for someone who's rather new at putting figures together?
  10. I don't know much about armies as I've only recently gotten into the game, but some masters that look pretty scrappy are Lady Justice, Ironsides, Von Shill and Viktorias. They look like they can jump in and deal some pretty good damage. There might be better masters, but that's what I suggest from just reading the masters themselves.
  11. XD I feel like there are a few masters that are hard on friendships. I know Tara's had me wanting to put holes in nearby walls with my fists, I've missed more shots against her from that stupid hole in her chest then I can count! A friend of mine wants to check the game out and wants to play Lady Justice. I'm almost finished putting my Lady Justice box together so hopefully I can show him the game soon and see what he thinks! One person almost recruited! xD I should have enough Guild figures to do Lady Justice vs. Lucius or McCabe.
  12. This does help. I'll pick up a the two player starter set and set it aside for people who want to learn the mechanics of the game. I've also decided against getting all of those boxes, and instead focus on two factions for the moment (Guild and Gremlins). I will use what you said to help others pick masters for themselves though, like I had no idea that Kirai didn't come with enough for a game. Thank you for the input!
  13. Hello everyone! My name is Raclesis (on here anyway. ) and I very recently started playing Malifaux. I went to a local shop and a friend was looking for someone to play with, so I borrowed one of the store owners armies (Sonnia) and gave it a shot. I really enjoyed the game, but I noticed that, at least at that specific shop, that most people were more into Warhammer and other war games then Malifaux. Seeing this I've been considering getting a bunch of different armies (thinking one of each faction) to try and demo the game to people who want to learn. I figured one of each faction would cater to many different tastes and play styles, and also help me learn more about various mechanics (I've only played two games so far xD Demoing might be hard, but I figured why not? ) My main question with this post is this: I'm going to list some masters I want personally, and I'm wondering if that will cover a good amount of play styles. Guild: McCabe Ressers: Kirai Neverborn: Pandora Arcanists: Ironsides Outcasts: Hamelin Ten Thunders: ??? (I like most of them. I think the only one I wasn't into was Mei Feng) Gremlins: Ophelia I currently have a small McCabe army together and Ophelia is still boxed, need to get to putting them together. This is going to take some time to get together, so I'm looking for input on what masters to go with. Also the friend that showed me how to play has quite a bit of Ressers so I'm hoping he can use those to help me out (Seamus, Tara, McMourning).
