  1. Lynch as an abysmal cache, and his thematic crew (sans Huggy - although maybe Huggy is why) costs a lot per model. I doubt very much that Lynch + Huggy + 1cache = 20ss cost. That would mean Lynch costs 11ss to field. The Viktorias may be a better example, although I don't know Ashes' cache or Blood's cache either. ~Lil Kalki
  2. So, I have a number of things here to work with: Card games: Magic: My favorite (long gone) deck was my deck based on black/green Fungus creatures. Thelon of Havenwood was my fave back before I knew what I was reall doing. Nowadays, I have only one deck - it's mono-red, but works heavily with artifacts to secure the win. The commander (it's a Commander deck) is Daretti, Scrap Savant. Lorewise, my favorite characters are Jeska, a red barbarian planeswalker, Chainer, a black pit fighter and summoner of nightmares, Ixidor, a blue-aligned summoner of illusions, Venser, a white-blue artificer planeswalker, Thelon of Havenwood, a green-black (essentially) Elvish shaman, and Narset, a blue-white monk planeswalker. Oh, and Norin the Wary, a red coward Cardfight Vanguard (because I do play that, albeit infrequently): I only play the Steampunk faction, Gear Chronicles. My favorite card in that game is called "Interdimensional Dragon, Ragnaclock Dragon" (why Dragon is in there twice, I'll never know XD). I do also like "Summit-Crest Gear Wolf". Yu-Gi-Oh!: I really like the general Fiend archetype, especially what was used during the Battle City arc of the anime. I like cards like "Dark Ruler Ha Des", "Dark Necrofear", and "Goblin King". But my favorite card archetype ever has to be anything havig to do with the card "Helios - the Primordial Sun" because the aesthetic is really nifty Videe Games: Pokemon: My favorite generation is Gen 3 (ruby, sapphire, et al). My favorite pokemon in that generation is Cacturne, but my favorite pokemon in general is Marowak. In terms of human characters, I think I really like Blaine, Steven, Archie (as an antagonist), Giovanni, and Silver. And who can forget the battle with Red? "..." lol - also, my favorite enemy team is Team Magma. Dragon Quest series: I haven't played much of this series (because there's so much to play!). I love Dragon Quest III, and Dragon Quest VIII, as well as the Monsters subset of games (especially DQM2). In III, I liked the section where the lady was actually the Orochi monster and your party had to beat them for a mystical item needed for your journey. In VIII, My favorite part was collecting monsters XD But I also liked the parts with Dhoulmagus. An evil jester is such a cool trope. I also liked Yangus because he is quirky. In DQM2, I loved the Ice World stage, especially its music before you completed it. My favorite monster character in that one is called Orgodemir II, and IIRC it's the final boss from Dragon Quest VII. Assassin's Creed: Haven't played it but enjoyed watching people play Brotherhood. I really really like the Barber, the Harlequin, and the Doctor characters' aesthetics. Kingdom Hearts (1, 2, and Chain of Memories): Allies I like are Jack Sparrow, the Beast, and Goofy (as long as I don't have to hear his voice). My favorite stages were Wonderland, Halloweentown (1), Hollow Bastion (1), Port Royal, Timeless River, the Underworld, and The World that Never Was. My favorite enemies were Luxord, Trickmaster, Axel, Barbossa, Grim Reaper, Sephiroth (2), and World of Darkness. Other: LARP: My main player-characters were a Steampunk cleric who became the "avatar" of a steampunk god of progress, a disease mage commanded the group of mercenaries we played as and who got executed due to making a Faustian-style pact with a demon, and a blood-mage lich with a "condor" for a familiar (actually a meat puppet held together by a number of botflies who are, as a hivemind, actually his familiar) and necromantic tendencies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, whatchu got! ~Lil Kalki
  3. Where are you located? I have one and I may be willing to ship location depending.
  4. First off, welcome to Malifaux! Second, and most relevant to your post, I would invest in Void Wretches (out as plastic models separate to Tara's box very soon), Rat Catchers (not out in plastic yet, but available... somewhere... in metal), and to a lesser extent, Freikorpsmann models (along with Von Schill's box or available as 2-of in their own box - I recommend getting VS's box though as it is filled with really good Outcast pieces). Hope that helps! ~Lil Kalki

  6. This is especially true because you could in theory add models like the Golden Pig or The Carver to the encounters, and if you want something custom, that's a distinct possibility. I had not considered that before, Ted. I'm gonna get on that soonlike! ~Lil Kalki
  7. I might suggest getting Lazarus instead of Vanessa, so as to fit in with the Freikorps theme. Laz is a bit strong, so he might be intimidating to beginners, but if you maybe put him in later, that might do it for the group ~Lil Kalki
  8. Whatever faction Cameraman is in, my thought is that a new faction could be made from Tyrants in a future edition, and if the camera-wielding Master comes to exist in that edition (or later), he'd have a problem against Tyrants and the beings they influence, considering that there are many scary things that can be seen through lens alone, in theory. Tyrants I can think of offhand for this: Plague (Hamelin DF Outcasts) December (Rasputina DF Arcanists) Obliteration (Tara DF Resurrectionists, losing Outcasts) Cheruf (Sonnia DF Guild) The Dragon (Shenlong DF Ten Thunders) Nytmare (The Dreamer DF Neverborn - OR: Make Lord Chompy Bits a master and split him from The Dreamer completely) Gorgon might be included but i don't know if it should, simply because I don't know enough about the Gorgon and its influence on Seamus or Molly. As it were, though, that's 6 dual faction Tyrant masters right there. ~~~ But I digress. My point is this: In a future edition of Malifaux, a camera-carrying Master is more than plausible (especially if my own idea comes to light, allowing for that particular handicap) - and I always envisioned a photographer/filmographer in Neverborn/Outcasts, myself ~Lil Kalki
  9. Yeah, but "Austringer" isn't a model either. Issue Command references Austringer here, not Guild Austringer. This was another of my offered suggestions when this came up in Beta (and was promptly ignored/overlooked). But either way, we are talking about Brilliance? Final Debt reads exactly as it should with the restriction being that the model needs to have the Brilliance characteristic before it can be targeted by the action. For the life of me, I cannot see how a model without the brilliance characteristic can be targeted by Final Debt. At the very least, consider RaW and RaI. RaI (read as intended), it is clearly meant to mean that the model must have Brilliance - otherwise that restriction wouldn't say so. RaW (read as written), I still fail to see how this is an issue. If a model cannot be targeted by Final Debt, it is an invalid target for a Brilliance-conditioned Burt Jebsen's Slippery trigger, since it says "legal target". ~Lil Kalki
  10. *sigh*... Grammar Pedant to the rescue, I suppose... If the characteristic in question was called "Brilliant", or if shorthand for "target model with the Brilliance characterstic" was "target Brilliant model", this entire thread would not exist in spacetime. Brilliance is a clunky word. It may be a noun like Beast, but unlike Beast, with its "target Beast model" as available shorthand, it is beyond clear that the developers didn't think "target Brilliance model" was acceptable (likely due to grammatical awkwardness), so they chose to put "target model with the Brilliance characteristic" instead. There are multiple ways of saying certain things in this game. If this line of thinking were wrong, I could target Guild Austringers with Lucius's Issue Command action, because there is no model with the Austringer characteristic and Lucius's Issue Command can only target non-Austringer Minion models (I tried so hard to change the card's wording for that action, too, and here I am, showing you people why they're justified in the decision they made...). ~Lil Kalki
  11. So what is your third choice of upgrade for Collodi? Oh, and, Asrian... BASK IN THE FILTH. ;3 ~Lil Kalki
  12. See, while I like both of those options, I feel a bit uneasy giving an upgrade to Lazarus (as Laz is the middleman to the primary interaction - without Laz, Hannah cannot use My Will on Collodi), and I think going for a balanced upgrade might be better than strict defense such as FGF. And yeah, the more I think about it, the less I think I should give Laz the Pact, and instead opt to hand it to Hannah. The thing is that Hannah will most definitely have the most card-straining job of the three models in question, needing first to Make a New Entry from Assimilate, and then Assimilate My Will. While Collodi is the model flipping at the end of that most of the time (and yes, sometimes it'll Lazarus in second), and while he is using 2 (more if focused) cards on the Attack flip, and a variant amount on damage (whereas Hannah uses the second most - Laz is in third here), Hannah has the slot open for this upgrade and needs it almost as badly, while Collodi doesn't have the spot open, if he has Bag Of Props/Fated, Strum the Threads, and Breathe Life. So in writing this a few more questions arise from me: 1) Bag Of Props or Fated for Collodi in this getup? BoP is good because I can gain Focus (and/or Defensive) like crazy as well as summon up Effigies as needed, but with Fated I can make all of my Marionettes and such gain Brutal's or Hodgepodge's bonus(es). I may need to go with BoP here because having my Marionettes spam Focus and Defensive as necessary might be a good call in emergencies. 2) Pact or Fears Given Form for Hannah? If I am to draw into the Black Joker with relative ease at some point in the game, I feel that Pact shall have been a wasted option unless facing against something like a discard effect. However, it provides security (for Hannah, at least) until that time comes. FGF, on the other hand, is a good degree of defense. If I could stick it on an enforcer like Lazarus, I would do that, but as I cannot, if I take FGF I will feel I'd need to clump him close by to Hannah, the recipient. I mean, I suppose I am answering my own questions here, but I want to hear more about this. Not a huge fan of Retribution's Eye, though - it gives Armor penetration, but unless I know I am facing off against Arcanists or perhaps Guild (or anticipating Iron Leve, but that's under the pretense that I know already and that isn't always assured), it seems like a bad call in comparison. I also don't like one-shot upgrades where they have to be discarded at some point for full effect. Thank you, Asrian! Keep 'em coming! ~Lil Kalki
  13. Re: Collodi's Bag O' Props + Laz + Hannah, and their Effigy Arsenal: I think Hodgepodge has more staying power than Arcane for a few good reasons: a ) Hodgepodge allows for soulstones to be gained off of killing a model, at the cost of a card in hand. This makes Brutal a staple, because you draw, then pitch for a stone if necessary (this idea is sort of a rip from Leveticus and his whole interaction with ol' Podgy - kill a model - tally sheet - Hodgepodge for a stone). b ) The Fog helps against all the shooters who don't have benefits against cover. Against "Da Ball," that's how one dismantles said "Da Ball," so The Fog really protects against it. Also, I think that giving Collodi Fast each of his activations - even if it won't pass over to his other dudes and even if it ends up netting damage by the end of the activation(s, with accomplice onto, say, Lazarus) - is helpful because every super-relevant thing that can be done with Collodi - be it Extra Thread, Pull The Strings, or My Will - has impact for your crew or against theirs. That's why I like Strum the Threads in this case. Now, a question to you: If I run a standard list for Collodi/Laz/Hannah (which for me is them, 4 Marionettes, Brutal, Podgy, and 4 stones for a full pool), I am left with 1 stone extra. Who am I best suited to give Pact to: Lazarus, or Hannah? Because I figure giving one (if not both, but I've only 1 extra stone for use) of them the ability to cheat a BJ is pivotal to the success of this crew build. Since Hannah is doing more heavy cardwork, I think it's her to be my choice, but I want a second opinion to be sure. ~Lil Kalki
  14. No worries - it's good news, no? ~Lil Kalki
  15. I believe it is the same kit as 1.5. That said, I may be wrong in saying that the issues aren't fixed completely. ~Lil Kalki
  16. For the record, Lazarus has been out for a while now, and Merris is going to be available by the end of the month (on other webstores than Wyrd's, to my knowledge). Just letting you know that they are absolutely options ~Lil Kalki
  17. You think the trigger is part of the attack here? I thought that triggers were separate from actions in a respect like this...
  18. The way I read it, because it is written as "+2 damage", as opposed to "2 damage in addition to all other effects", if the Ml actions causes damage it deals another 2 in addition, but things like triggers or Ml actions which don't deal damage arent affected. I'm pretty on the fence about Hammerfall's interaction, though. ~Lil Kalki
  19. aPandora was always on a 40mm, custom base and all, but yes, she would need rebasng nowadays. ~Lil Kalki
  20. Nice - nay, EXCELLENT - job with your proxies. The only thing I am sad about is that because none of the non-greenstuff materials in these three (absolutely wonderful and you should seriously be proud of them!) proxies seem to be at least 51% Wyrd product, they won't be seeing any Gaining Grounds play which means I'l probably never, ever see them in action except over a computer screen. :/ But all the same, again, you should be proud of these splendidly marvelous pieces. ~Lil Kalki
  21. Depends. Are you on top of it? ~Lil Kalki EDIT: I don't know how to feel about this being my 1000th post.
  22. This event has been rescheduled! It is now taking place on May 9th, to accommodate for various people who want to see me off before I graduate. ~Lil Kalki
  23. Thank you for Hans (my puppet Moleman), Nathan and co.! ~Lil Kalki
  24. I am awake and due to make a metric tonne more bad jokes because of 2 Luck Energy Potions (both of which expired in January 2012) taken at 8PM EST. It is 4:34AM EST. > But seriously, how can I even begin to quantify my adoration for this conversion job?!? ~Lil Kalki
