  1. I think it would have said "targeting" if it was meant to be that interpretation.
  2. I like this idea. Extra Arm, Extra legs, Extra Head upgrades. Like Marcus but with zombie limbs.
  3. Agreed, Fermented monks are the crutch my Tri-Chi depend on. This was my thought too. @Khyodee I think a lot of people would argue over wear goes where, but I really appreciate the effort you put in. It's pretty neat.
  4. I think it would be a lot of fun to just escort a wall of 5 Seshin 15" up the board turn 1. This is more wishlist than expectation, but I think it would be really cool to bring back bodypart tokens for McMourning like he had in 1st ed. Discard corpses and damage enemies in melee to gain bodyparts discard them via actions to summon or do other stuff.
  5. So, it looks like the new Kirai title did a lot for little guys. Seshin went from pretty pointless to, maybe you want to bring 5. I'm pretty excited that Kirai's Swirling Spirits does one of the things we talked about, which is reference SS cost instead of just station.
  6. Just wanted to commend you on your foresight. Also if you have any stock tips to give that would be cool.
  7. My understanding is no. Since the minion at full health wouldn't heal. I think she's going to be fine. It looks like Seshin and Gaki are both on the menu now and they both provide quite a bit of healing for her to redirect. Min 13 sounds hard, but with Swirling Spirits you only need a 4 to swirl your whole Seshin Swarm around and maybe even get a Gaki in the process.
  8. She looks great. Seshin got a huge boost, since they can summon Gaki. The Sundering not having an upper limit seems huge too. Getting to 4/5/6 or better isn't out of the question. With Adversary giving + and Revenge giving- she's going to hit like a truck.
  9. I think you cooks crib ideas from Collodi. Attach different upgrades to do different stuff representing the game The Dreamer is currently playing. Like: Opposite Day: models within 6" treat all + as - and vice versa for attack flips. The Floor is Lava!: The area within 6" is treated as severe and Hazardous Burning. Cricket: Dreamer gets Toss and a Knock Aside trigger on his bat.
  10. I assumed a general, "they can actually interact" rule. But I hadn't really thought about how the Summoning nerf hit Asura.
  11. I think Sandeep is going to play the same game as other summoners. That is summons are there to distract/kill/stop the other guy from scoring. While you hire all the major stuff you need to get your objectives done. Sandeep still has the best Summoning stat in the game and a fairly absurd range to drop them. Sandeep can potentially pick two models 26" away from each other and drop a gamin into engagement with each of them. If the opponent doesn't have movent tricks or a good way to remove 2 4-5 wound Armored models a turn they're gonna be in a bad spot. If you're willing to do 1 damage to your own summons Kandara can pulse out staggered too, with no chance to resist. Meaning you can shut down a lot of movement tricks on top of dropping fairly tough summons in engagement.
  12. I don't play McMourning enough to have a valuable opinion, but I'd be tempted to take two Nurses any time I'm running the Rogue Necromancy. If you can Tools for the Job a mask you can put extra AP through the Rogue Necromancy's attack with Seduction and Small Favor. The attack gets a - from distracted, but the built in + leaves you with a stat 6 beater attack. McMourning isn't a bad choice either, if you've stacked injured on something stat 7 gives you a good chance of hitting still, and his discard/injure, Precise and Organ Donor are all not triggers so happen even as a trigger generated action. Er, nevermind Small Favor is Non-Master only. 😐
  13. This makes me want a Somer Title that works like Asura Rotten but with Bayou Gremlins.

    Bayou Errata

Sorry it's took so long to actually post. Short Batrep: Corner Deployment Pool was Turf War and Bait and Switch, Claim Jump, Death Beds, Spread them Out, Vendetta. Game ended 7 (3 strat 2 Death Beds 2 Claim Jump) to 4 (2strat, 2 Death Bed, 0 Vendetta) I took: Som'er Lenny G&O Gluttony 2 Good Ol'Boys Spit Hog I agonized quite a bit any this list. I almost dropped stuff for a Silurid or Two to run flanks or dropped a Good Ol'Boy for a Banjoista and more stones. Banjoista would have been nice for survivability and mobility and with a Silurid or two it could have been an interesting Distracted based list. I think I might give that a go sometime I don't have to bring Gluttony for marker removal. Ultimately I wanted more offense if I wanted to try to win a brawl in the center The game went very different than the last one. I definitely had much better luck. I don't think I ever had a turn without two severes in my initial draw and managed to pick up the Red Joker from an Expendable draw turn two. Over the course of the game I summoned three Good Ol'Boys a Skeeter and a Bayou Gremlin. Biggest Take Aways: With the loss of defensive Bayou Two Card, it's hard to justify Summoning anything but a Good Ol'Boy. Unless your hand is really full for Intimidating Authority on Criers, Good Ol'Boys are the best defensive summon and the best offensive one. The + twists Good Ol'Boys have in top of Hard Too Wound and self heals mean they don't need as much support defensively. In this game my opponent still managed to chew through 4 of them. Som'er himself also plays very different and some of the most recent changes sort of buffed him. With less focus Squeal is better. Most models can only swing at Somer once a turn, before he runs away. Getting attacked with a single unfocused hit hurts way less than a focused one. The Errata on "another" letting Somer take a Pig Eating Grin shot is also big. The Puncture trigger is good, really good, on a model with SS usage making Somer a better PEG choice than G&O sometimes. I managed to cap Kang out of activation with a ++ from Puncture. The fact that Som'er is playing less of a defensive support piece means, I felt better about using him agressively like the old Rambo Somer. He's super stone hungry though. Playing Somer means you'll probably want a stone every turn to fix your hand, a stone every turn to guarantee Summoning, and at least a stone a turn each on both damage prevention and puncture triggers, so just bring 20 stones and he'll be happy. Lol The lack of good inside the keyword scheme runners still hurts, exacerbated by summoning changes. But, it seems, picking Big Hat is more about the map than the Strategy. Big Hat can still do spread out stuff pretty well, if the center is open and there are good lanes for Lenny to Toss models down.

    Bayou Errata

I won a rematch Big Hat vs Foundry 7 to 4. I guess I can stop screaming that the sky is falling. Lol I'll try and post a short batrep, and some thoughts tomorrow.
  16. I think it is a pretty good rough estimate. Generally the longer the ability tastes EU write out the more interactions it involves. Like Armor fits in 1 line. Hard to wound barely takes 2. We Are Legion takes 6 Yeah. I'm not sure what I'd call it. Maybe just text lines. Or Average Text when doing a keyword.
  17. Another thread got me thinking. Do you think it would be useful to include word counts on cards? Possibly seperated into front and back. Rating complexity is hard but word count should give a rough guide. Like Silurid: Front 30, Back 62, Total 92. Nexus: Front 139, 214, Total 353. In hindsight counting all this is a lot of effort, lol. Maybe just a line of text count. Which gives us: Nexus: Front 16, back 29, Total 45 Silurid: Front 4, Back 12, Total 16 Either way we get a rough idea that Nexus has about three times the verbage or "complexity" of a Silurid. It might be a lot of work, but I think it could be useful. What do you think @Hermit @Beeray?
  18. Yeah. I'm hoping to get a Big Hat game in today. I'm going to bring at least one Banjoista, because it's the cheapest thing in keyword to do objectives.
  19. That's definitely a possibility. My only real evidence is how wordy Nexus's card is. I'm not sure what card in the game has the most text, but Nexus has to be close. She definitely takes it if you include upgrade. Unless maybe Yan Lo includes all of his.
  20. I assumed this was because they wanted some "permanent" rules in the crew, not just relient on you leader being alive to create them I'm 90% sure yet added that abilites after realizing it wasn't going to fit on the card. Otherwise it could have been an upgrade that attached when she died like Asami's Soul keeps Emerald Shimmer in the crew after she is killed. It's an essential part of the crew's function. Conversely Parasitic Grasp is an essential part of the crew. But Connected Conciousness isn't.
  21. Something just bounced around my noggin. I've seen a few questions from people about "What is a good beginner master?" And it now occurs to me that the Title system might be a good way of addressing this question. The only title we've seen has been about the same complexity of the original but I could see getting an "EZ" version of a Master. More straightforward, less interactions, abilites and triggers. Likely with better stats to compensate for less synergy.
  22. I think rules bloat is something to watch out for. But, I think it's also worth noting that Malifaux is probably the most complicated skirmish game on the market, even after the 3rd Ed simplification. If complexity is going to put a new player off, they are not likely to enjoy Malifaux. Complexity for complexity's sake is bad. But here it was for balance. I'm significantly more worried about stuff like Cadmus getting an upgrade at deployment which exists because there just wasn't enough space on her card to explain all her abilites. Or EVS and cheating using stuff in the opponent's discard which opens up a whole new, complex set of rules and interactions for things that previously were not important.
  23. I like that. Something like Paid By The Mile, where at the end of turn scrap counters count as scheme markers. Sorta like Gravedigger's Field of Corpses. I think Beater Sandeep would be fun. I mean look at the size of that Heavenly Gada. Should be min 3 damage at least. Lol
  24. Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Fingers crossed Nico comes back but I don't think anyone is coming back via the title system. It sounds like titles will be the next book release so, earliest we'll likely see DMH make a return is after that.
