  1. Greetings All -- this month is going to be a tough one and I've been reluctant to post up for demos but I think if we practice good social distancing and utilize other means... we just may be able to do this demo thing for Malifaux 3rd Edition. So, with all this pandemic response and responsibilities in mind, I've determined that we can do some demos over VASSAL. VASSAL has a lot of various game 'modules' for playing games and the one for Malifaux is great. With this in mind, please get in touch and I'll be checking the boards for those interested. I'll take the time to set up a virtual VASSAL Malifaux game table and run you thru a demo game. Also - you've got a few more days of the Easter Sale at your fingertips! Catch you at the <virtual> game table! All the Best ~James
  2. So with the beta at the end and a release data for M3E announced I though Id get the ball rolling on Sandeep for this addition. now this does come with the disclaimer that all this is correct as of the time of writing (e.g end of Beta) rather than the printed rules, and there could be tweaks between what I've said here and the final version. It also comes with the disclaimer that while I've played something in the ball park of 20-30 games with Sandeep throughout the Beta its been against a fairly small meta (I mean I've yet to play vs Guild once!) and so there may be things I've not come up against. but I still hope my experiences and knollage of the master of elemental is worth while to at least get the ball rolling on m3e tactical discussions So without further Ado on with the Tactica for Sandeep and his academics and Elementals Mantras So the Academics Key Mechanics is Mantras. These are abilities that essentially read Mantra X: when this model or a elemental (the gamin) within 6 inches takes a concentrate (the new focus) action, you may do X now every academic including Banasuva and Kandara have there own Mantras which means that the crews have to strike a balanced of getting the right blend of Mantra's for the Elementals and enough elementals to benefit and trigger the mantras. the other thing to make note of is that X is part of the aura's name, which means that you can trigger multiple different mantra's when an elemental focuses. So the first thing to point out is the importance of concentrate in m3e. for people who have yet to play the new addition, the changes to manipulative (negative to hit if not activated) terrifying (you now take the dual every time you target something with terrifying), Shooting in to combat (negative to hit) and the increase prevalence of butterfly jump (pritty much every never born player is going to have 2 models with it) as well as the changes to focus (it no longer going at end of turn) means that in quite a few situations its better to focus and then attack with said focus, rather than just getting in 2 swings in my opinion, especially if you can trigger a mantra or two by doing it. so lets now look at the models that make up the crew in question, starting with Sandeep himself.

  4. Greetings All, The demo events for February were fantastic! I want to thank all of you out there who showed interest and came. There's a lot of room here in Fairbanks and Alaska at large for expanding Malifaux, Through the Breach, & The Other Side. Look for me at The Comic Shop here in Fairbanks for demos of Malifaux throughout March. Send me a private message to get in contact for setting a demo game for you and your friends too. As the land here in Alaska begins to thaw from this very cold winter, I'd like to see about even more days where I'll be setting up table (or two...or three...etc) for some Malifaux. See you soon! Be Well, ~James

  7. Greetings All - February is upon us already? Sorry so late getting this out but I was crazy busy with work and some family stuff. I hope everyone had a great Chinese New Year and is ready for some more Malifaux 3E More and more releases means that our love of Malifaux continues to get most excellent support. I know there are delays - but that is not Wyrd's fault... all those shipments coming from abroad will eventually get here -- patience, we will be rewarded! I have tables worth of new terrain for demos and games. I hope to see you out there and will also be sneaking onto Fort Wainwright to demo at the Warrior Zone. There's a great event coming up at the Comic Shop called the Learn to Play Faire. I'll be there for sure with a table of miniatures and terrain ... ready for some great demos and willing to chat up all things Malifaux all day long. See you out there -- catch you all at The Comic Shop or out 'n about Flipp'n Cards since 2009! Be Well, ~James

  9. My first post here but I've been scrolling through for a bit. I know it's a little past the holiday season now but finally found the time to finishing this up. Thought it's be cool to make The Old Ways... Of Christmas! Also sleeved up a matching fate deck, made some scheme markers, and made some ice pillars to go with the crew. I liked the thought of the giants jumping outa boxes or shoving other people in them with Thoon and yeeting them across the table. haha I was maybe going to turn a Boltungin into Rudolph too. Any idea what to do with the Geryon when they come out? Was thinking either painting them up as a piece of fruit cake or a glob of eggnog lol.

  12. Here we go! English GT 2019 is now live! You can find the tournament pack here: EGT Tournament Pack This event is being supported by KR Multicase. The highlights are: Tournament Format This will be a Malifaux Third Edition tournament – any rules here are subject to change pending any possible Gaining Grounds release before the event. The English GT will be a six round event over two days. On registration, players will commit to a single faction they will be playing for the entire event. Strategy and schemes are revealed below. Each player will register on the day with a specified faction. At the beginning of each round you must declare a leader from your chosen faction then hire a legal crew totalling 50SS (including upgrades). Only models that have had an official rules release (available on www.wyrd-games.net/malifaux or have official, physical M3E cards) will be considered legal. With the new faction books being released now in electronic copies: I am happy for models that are released in the faction books to be used (proxied in most cases) as long as you are able to provide a printed copy of the card for your opponents perusal. Please note, beta testing cards are not suitable. Dead Man’s Hand models are not considered legal. Masters may not be hired that are out of keyword with the declared Leader. The following masters may count as Henchman during hiring for the purposes of the ‘Helping Hand’ ability if you are not able to obtain the rules/a suitable proxy for their Totem: Dashel Barker; Nekima.
