  1. So, the latest Waldo's Weekly showed off the new official rules for HH: https://www.wyrd-games.net/news/category/Wyrd+News TLDR: HH will be 30 stones, 4 models exactly (fixed crew through whole tournament), no free leaders, no free effigies, no summoning, 2ap for leaders, vp scoring from turn 1, wedge deployment, Plant Explosives + Vendetta + Assassinate. The lack of summoning means that Asura is probably right out, so what Henchman + Crew do you think will be good in this format? My first instinct is to reach for either Anna Lovelace or Vincent St Claire.
  2. Here we go! English GT 2019 is now live! You can find the tournament pack here: EGT Tournament Pack Everything is subject to change pending M3E's official launch and any potential Gaining Grounds document, and I will update the tournament pack as we go. I will try to keep as close to the listed timings as possible - expect nothing but minor changes. The highlights are: Tournament Format This will be a Malifaux Third Edition tournament – any rules here are subject to change pending any possible Gaining Grounds release before the event. The English GT will be a six round event over two days. On registration, players will commit to a single faction they will be playing for the entire event. Alternatively, a player may declare as “Dead Trinity”, please see below. Strategy and schemes will be revealed on arrival. Dead Trinity: instead of declaring a faction, a player may instead choose to register as Dead Trinity and declare any three leaders, from any faction, they will use for the tournament. At least one of the chosen leaders must be a master from the Dead Man’s Hand “Faction”. Tournament Schedule All subject to Gaining Grounds recommendations. Each game will last two hours including set-up. Saturday 21st 10:00-10:45 Registration 10:45-12:45 Game 1 12:45-13:45 Lunch & Painting 13:45-15:45 Game 2 16:00-18:00 Game 3 Saturday evening social event – to be discussed Sunday 22nd 10:30-12:30 Game 4 12:30-13:15 Lunch 13:15-15:15 Game 5 15:30-17:30 Game 6 17:30-18:00 Clear Up & Prizes (NB: due to Sunday trading, no purchases may be made from the store before 12pm on Sunday) In the event of odd numbers of participants, a ringer will be available who will not score tournament points. 3. So with the beta at the end and a release data for M3E announced I though Id get the ball rolling on Sandeep for this addition. now this does come with the disclaimer that all this is correct as of the time of writing (e.g end of Beta) rather than the printed rules, and there could be tweaks between what I've said here and the final version. It also comes with the disclaimer that while I've played something in the ball park of 20-30 games with Sandeep throughout the Beta its been against a fairly small meta (I mean I've yet to play vs Guild once!) and so there may be things I've not come up against. but I still hope my experiences and knollage of the master of elemental is worth while to at least get the ball rolling on m3e tactical discussions So without further Ado on with the Tactica for Sandeep and his academics and Elementals Mantras So the Academics Key Mechanics is Mantras. These are abilities that essentially read Mantra X: when this model or a elemental (the gamin) within 6 inches takes a concentrate (the new focus) action, you may do X now every academic including Banasuva and Kandara have there own Mantras which means that the crews have to strike a balanced of getting the right blend of Mantra's for the Elementals and enough elementals to benefit and trigger the mantras. the other thing to make note of is that X is part of the aura's name, which means that you can trigger multiple different mantra's when an elemental focuses. So the first thing to point out is the importance of concentrate in m3e. for people who have yet to play the new addition, the changes to manipulative (negative to hit if not activated) terrifying (you now take the dual every time you target something with terrifying), Shooting in to combat (negative to hit) and the increase prevalence of butterfly jump (pritty much every never born player is going to have 2 models with it) as well as the changes to focus (it no longer going at end of turn) means that in quite a few situations its better to focus and then attack with said focus, rather than just getting in 2 swings in my opinion, especially if you can trigger a mantra or two by doing it. so lets now look at the models that make up the crew in question, starting with Sandeep himself.

  5. Hello! The Tinker, Taelor series is my attempt to make a beginner friendly tournament experience, and wouldn't you know it: going into it's third year corresponds excellently with the release of 3rd edition. Tournament pack is here and here are the highlights: Venue Dark Sphere Shepherd's Bush Megastore Unit 8 W12 Shopping Centre London W12 8PP Tournament Format The tournament will follow the rules for Gaining Grounds (if there is one) except where it is contradicted in this document. Rules specified here supersede Gaining Grounds document. This will be a sixteen player, three round, fixed leader event. Strategies and Schemes are pre-determined and will be revealed a month before the tournament. If there is sufficient demand, we may be able to expand beyond 16 players. Models form the Dead Man’s Hand pack will be considered legal. Any leader that may be selected in multiple factions must declare a faction as well. Tournament Schedule Each game will last two hours and fifteen minutes including set-up. 10:00-10:30 Registration 10:30-12:45 Game 1: S&S TBC 12:45-13:30 Lunch & Painting Competition 13:30-15:45 Game 2: S&S TBC 15:55-18:10 Game 3: S&S TBC 18:10-18:30 Clear-up and prizes Entry Tickets are available are available by sending a payment via PayPal to myself, and attendees will be listed on the Wyrd Forums. 15. We are back in Moulsoe again in May to raise money for Willen Hospice and a fun day's gaming. Last year we raised £1200, which was amazing. There will be 3 rounds of fixed faction M3E, plus the usual charity raffle, for which I already have a nice couple of items. As numbers are generally low, and the cost of the hall needs to be covered, we shall be sharing the venue with a 40k doubles tournament. The venue is a modern village hall with its own playground and adjacent to a pub. Location is just a few minutes drive from J14 of the M1. Entry is £15 with at least £5 going to the charity. Places are limited to 18 players.
