  1. Very nice tattoo work. There's something about the NMM on the doggies that's a bit cartoony for me, though...
  2. Hmm, feel like they lost something in the translation, since I really liked the illustrations and these seem just okay. Might be proxy time. I prefer the bird style, but might go goblin style.
  3. None of the 0SS henchmen can be taken unless they're leading or their associated master is.
  4. Hmm, yeah, once pointed out, that sword and those boots are a bit funky.
  5. Guild: Perdita, since she doesn't even need to close Ressers: Seamus, since he's tough and has good support Outcasts: Von Schill since he's well-rounded and tough NB/TT: Lynch since despite being a condition master he runs really well even without it. Don't know arcanists well enough, and gremlins are self-destructive enough that I don't think they're good to learn on.
  6. Bayou gremlins on their own are decent but really fragile. I find them pretty poor at anything other than forcing a non-ranged force to deal with them and activation control. Also, the third AP is pretty rough when it means they're going down to a 2WD 3ss model that can hurt itself. They're very good when fully supported, and they're okay for non-combat roles when unsupported. ...In short, I guess, what clement said.
  7. The metal one's very large, might fit on a 40mm but would look a bit cramped. Mysterious Effigy has a good feel, think counting him as two proxies in the same faction would be confusing, though. Also, there are like 4 teddy sculpts already.
  8. She dumps a model out way up field. I'd call that her the one doing the flinging.
  9. Being a 50mm neverborn zombie-ish thing with a blade, I've been using him as my Killjoy.
  10. I don't find there to be a huge difference between vallejo and reaper, just some preference one way or another. I only use those lines now, except with old paints I haven't replaced (used to heavily use GW) and occasionally colors where other lines don't make them as well (there are a few GW paints I'll still buy since they're unique effects or like exactly how the color mixes, for instance).
  11. I'd highly suggest learning 1-2 at a time and avoiding even thinking about the others. The game is complex enough that more's probably unnecessary and would hinder learning anything well.
  12. Hi, sure, LMK what you've got to offer (in case you missed it, my access to PM's is somehow broken, so I have contact info at the top)
  13. Decided to flesh out both what I have to offer and what I'm looking for (malifaux only, feel free to inquire about other lines if some of this matches up): Have • plastic somer teeth jones, NOS • plastic marcus crew, NOS • alt LE kaeris, NOS • through the breach LE deck (opened but never used) • shifting loyalties book (light wear) Want (again, this is just the malifaux stuff) (I know some of these things haven't come out, just writing them down in advance. This isn't a comprehensive list of what I'd take, just what I'm looking for.) I've listed a few avatars-looking for a nice deal on these since they're old/game function is less. Misc. **Puppet wars promo sprue (had like 6-10 characters on it) *** Crossroads 7 (crew) ** starter set (with or without cards) Guild Metal pale rider mounted guard metal guild drill sgt lucius starter (may split, LMK if you have a split in mind) Ressers plastic necropunk with stilt legs mindless zombie plastic pack (may split, want the large one, maybe others) avatar nicodem Arcanists ice dancer slateridge mauler (metal) single ice gamin, fire gamin (clear plastic, I know it's a stretch) Neverborn * depleted * the Beckoner with the cane, will trade in your favor for just it (maybe the pair) * changelings terror tots young nephilim (not interested in mature) ** cool proxies: creepy kids (esp. fae sensibility), things that could be used for silurid gupps/mother (I'd also appreciate it if you have suggestions even if you don't have the models) Outcasts ** Tara regular sculpt or clear plastic (just the master) ashes & dust (plastic) Avatar leveticus gremlins * tri-chi theme except golem * either pigapult (pref. plastic) * gracie ** metal young lacroix (2-3) ** sparks & constructs ulix set ten thunders samurai (three, or the kneeling one and one other) * tengu (partial packs may be fine- LMK which you don't want, proxies would also work) komainu (partial packs are fine) (others, esp. newer are options; only faction I'm not interested in is arcanists)
  14. I think it's an impressive model, but IDK if it really fits my aesthetic for the faction (outcasts definitely have western covered, but none really feel goofy). Those other things are pretty cool, though.
  15. A common mistake in a new malifaux meta is to play with not enough terrain (light boards heavily favor ranged sets). Lucius can get a firing squad going well, if you're open to either another faction or some models only he can field (drawing from guild)
  16. Yeah, tournaments are harder 'cause of time restrictions making scanning a thing. As long as you're reasonably intelligent about proxying and make everything identifiable (don't use the same model for 2 roles or something), it's fine. Worst I ever had was someone with a bunch of poorly labeled bases that was incredibly frustrating to process (squinting at bases across the table and trying to remember if that circle was a henchman or a minion was no fun). I don't think I've ever had a problem with "this monster dude is a proxy for X monster" or "this guy with a big sword is a proxy for Y melee piece"
  17. Seems like the turtle would make a better killjoy.
  18. I love Hannah with tara, though really she supports any beater well.
  19. Well, she's super-fragile, that's why she was worthless in her original role. But with a move, a ranged summon (that can come in charging), and another move, she can keep something like 15" from the action if you need her to.
  20. Yeah, a 9 of crows is pretty cheap for putting an autopsy or crooligan just where you want it, when they cost 4 and karina is 1SS more, and I definitely tend to take a card manipulation mini with her, too. Mikey, yep, I'm interested in trying the broader burying thing/a bunch of nothing creatures like you tend to run rather than the fast generation/surgical burying I lean towards somewhere down the line, to see the other side of that sort of thing. I ran that when I was learning her but it's been a long time since I've tried that and I know I wasn't anywhere near my current game, so it's likely I wrote off things I shouldn't have.
  21. Well, there y'have it, Mikey. Feel like we do almost nothing the same with approaching Tara, remember a decent bit of debate last beta, but looks like there's something we completely agree on.
  22. Wow. IDK what I'm doing differently than you guys, but I was ready to say "well, she's fragile, which balances her out well enough," when I saw the title. What would have been better for her initially would be a cost of around 3 for a nice gun on an otherwise worthless model, since totems are often underpriced. What we got was a worthless 5 point model with a patch in the form of one of the best uses of summoning resources in the game: she summons a model at full speed and health... not anchored to a marker, not relying on death or a condition, not using a master's action, with lots of options, summoned at range, as a 0 action so she can hit & run or summon and shoot (so that's on top of a decent gun). I pretty often get in the 15SS range of summons off her, sometimes 20 or more, and those new bodies make it great for other resser spells like spare parts. I think she's a fantastic return on investment, who I'll take every game I can, unless the scenario punishes a fragile enforcer or summoning tactics. She's very often MVP for me.
